UFC 115 bonuses and awards for 'Liddell vs Franklin' PPV fights

Ufc81-bonus_medium

UFC 115: "Liddell vs. Franklin" from the GM Place in Vancouver, Canada, has officially wrapped, which means that it’s time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.

To the tune of $85,000 each. That's not a typo.

The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four fighters on the card. And it may not surprise you which combatants are leaving British Columbia with a little extra green.

In addition to their base salaries, the UFC awarded welterweight competitors Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald "Fight of the Night" for their three rounds of back-and-forth action.

It was more than likely bittersweet for MacDonald, who was possibly on pace to get a win over the former WEC welterweight champion before "The Natural Born Killer" viciously emerged in the third round. Condit stopped the 20-year-old hometown favorite with just a few seconds remaining in a great back-and-forth fight, putting an exclamation point on a fantastic come-from-behind performance.

Mirko Cro Cop dared company president Dana White not to be "stingy" after he choked out Pat Barry in the third round of their heavyweight showdown. White seemingly obliged by awarding him with the "Submission of the Night;" however, Mike Pyle -- who trapped Jesse Lennox in a slick triangle before the final bell to secure an uncertain victory -- might have something to say about that.

And was there ever any doubt that Rich Franklin would be rewarded for icing Chuck Liddell in the main event? "Ace" weathered a heavy storm, as well as a broken left forearm, in round one to earn "Knockout of the Night" honors over the fading UFC Hall of Famer.

Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 115:

Star-divide

Fight of the Night — Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Submission of the Night — Mirko Cro Cop
Knockout of the Night — Rich Franklin

Again, each fighter received $85,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible if and when they become available.

yep agreed on both counts

CroCops submission was the easiest and Barry basically stuck his chin out to give it to him. The love fest was just gay, seriously what the fuck was that in the middle of the fight

I loved it...

watching them respect each other like that…gave me chills. I was like “fuck yeah” they’re gonna let it all hang out. I would have taken this as fight of the night instead of the Condit fight but that’s just me. I was more into this one than the Condit fight. Then again, I was watching the fights while everyone else was partying around me at my house lol.

Loved the respect both fighters showed each other as well.

This is what happens when you bet on a loser like Cote, I should have listened to David W-S

The lovefest was a man fighting his hero and having a ton of respect and fun while doing it. Not every fight has to be hate based. The hug was a little much, but I mean c’mon imagine your favorite fighter ever. Now train because of him for years, then get in a ring or cage with him in front of millions. You’re either going to be scared shitless or love the experience. And barry loved the experience.

Half sick/half over joyed

Absolutley sick to see chuck go out like that,Even though I knew it was comming,But man he was kicking and throwing with power tonight,I was coaching him off my couch tonight yelling quit throwing that stupid slow straight though and quit fucking chasing your kicks look great and your take downs are solid just wait for him to come to you.Damn it. On the other hand I was Over joyed to see Cro Cop Come back if only for a brief Moment in the last few seconds of the last round ( his last flurry) he may have been dropped 2wice in the first but Im happy with the win Now drop to 205 cro cop and take on franklin.

Man that sucks so much

Chuck was looking real bloody good but was so damn aggressive to damn aggressive =/ Its definitely the end for Chuck he like everyone else who has had a ‘great chin’ at one point grow way to accustumed to using it as their BLOCK/DODGE which its obviously not ment for the end result being they leave themselves open way to often.

Kinda feel sorry for Pat he couldve won the fight had he choosen to fight an MMA match instead of a kickboxing match, i know he definitely wanted to prove he was the better striker and all but its definitely not the best thing to do if you are looking to make a living fighting MMA, hes still young though so its all good. As for Crocop he definitely looked different he was nothing like the Dos Santos fight i would LOOOVE to see a rematch right now that Crocop seems to be back on track or Crocop vs Gonzaga.

Poor Yvel i bet he trained almost purely standup for the fight what a disappointment. Rothwell has a great chin but definitely needs to step up his game if he ever wants to become a top contender, i could never see him being champ.

as good as kampman was and as over looked as he was.....

I still never exspected him to beat Paulo on the ground the way he did. I thought he had him in the north-south choke but paulo has sum really good sub defence

The ground is where I thought he'd beat Paulo. I thought he'd get clipped on the feet

I had Kampmann at +215

i think i was debating the thiago an kampmann fight

with you an damn man i should’ve listened to you. Kampmann made it look easy but Thiago did pretty decent off his back defending the sub attemps Kmann was attempting. One sided loss for paulo. I wonder where he goes from here. Kampmann takes on Hardy???

Was it just me

or was this an all around awesome card. Yes I was drinking Capn Morgan all night but it seemed as though these fights were worth the money. The “free” fights on Spike seemed to also deliver.

Yeah this one was good

Definitely better then the average UFC card.

Agreed.

I was actually about to skip this fight but I’m glad I didn’t. That Cro Cop fight was very interesting. One of the weirdest fights I’d ever seen. It’s like Pat Barry broke a window those two times he landed that punch. It was cool to see break but it was like oh FUCK what did I just do!?! Then Cro Cop got that submission? Wow. Such a weird fight but entertaining for me.

by Super and or Duper on Jun 13, 2010 5:54 AM EDT up reply actions

Rory Macdonald looked great. He has a lot of potential and had the fight not been stopped, he would have won in mu opinion.

Dana White, PLEASE have Gilbert Yvel fight again. I like his style. He gave it his all and he but up a GREAT fight against a much larger opponent.

SOOOOO Glad that Cro Cop won. Pat may have won if he had charged on cro cop when he dropped him. Reminded me Wandi and Chuck.

I was really disappointed to see Chuck lose. Chuck did so well up until that knock out punch. I wish he wouldn’t have been so agressive in the last 30 secs. Chuck was doing great. His chin just aint what it used to be. Enjoyed seeing what Chuck could do. He has a great offense but his defense aint what it used to be unfortunatly. I will probably never watch that fight again. I like Rich but I hate seeing Chuck get knocked out after working so hard. Glad Cro Cop won though. At least we didn’t see the end of two legends tonight.

rory

Looked good I agree, but had it gone to the cards I had it 28-28. I thought he won 1 and 2, but the damage Condit caused in the third I scored it 10-8

No regrets

The one thing I love about chuck is he leaves it all out there, no regrets just win or lose plain and simple. If his chin hadn’t went he’d have won this for sure, it’s annoying to watch as he looked great and actually his chin used to be a strength…not anymore:( surely he must have been ko’d in training, cos the last couple of fights weren’t power punches, just a thought?!

War chuck though, and thanks for the years!!!

Chuck looked good, but Franklin won most the exchanges and was doing a good job sticking chuck and getting out of range. Well untill he broke him arm and stood in front of chuck

by DJF on Jun 13, 2010 7:02 AM EDT reply actions

There was a glimmer of hope..

Chuck had me drinkin the Kool-aide, I was a believer! And then BAM, KO 1st rd.. wow. Such a sad way to see him go out. Couldnt’ve been more wrong about Chuck comin back; hats off to Rich. Time to hang it up Chuck; you’ve given the fans some great fights and your place in MMA history is secure.

Thanks Chuck

I have enjoyed watching Chuck Liddell over the years and still think he is the man, but the time to pass the torch has arrived!!! Thanks for the GREAT fights over the years Chuck!!!
Now in advance of the inevitable: SHUT UP TITO!!! Everyone knows you will be running your mouth now, and you would have even if Chuck won. You are a tool!!

Mike Pyle

Got HOSED! Come on Dana…Look at what Cro Cop makes and look at what Pyle makes…And Pyle had a much better submission! You also could have argued that his fight was Fight of the Night!
