Impressive picture. Not even the most otimist fan could expect a result like that. Shogun made his point and now is back to number one status from where he is going to stay for some time.

Dang, so much for Machida's "Elusiveness" ...

and hardly ever being hit. That was until he ran into Shogun! Shogun left his mark twice ! Muay thai > Karate

With that being said, it’s time for Machida join other camps to improve his game. Hopefully this loss won’t affect his confidence. I’m still a fan of Lyoto and expect him to come back stronger. Shogun asked for Couture. Will the veteran cut the line once more?

I wonder why he asked for couture? He wants to knock off all the hall of famers? I see no way for couture to beat shogun right now, but i said the same shit about couture vs gonzaga, and we all saw couture kicked gonzagas ass.

Look, perhaps his strategy is solidify his legacy beating as much names as possible without running any risk. Couture can’t fight Shogun at the same level but has a huge name in UFC. Good for the lhw champion, no?

Yea, coutures name is still huge. I would think couture would need to beat a top guy after toney to get a title shot but 3 wins in a row is probably all he’ll need.

Sure. I agree. Same for Liddell. Any light heavyweight champion with two victories in a row can fight for the title. I don’t doubt Lil Nog will get his chance with one more success.

I think Machida had to take at least one more fight before the rematch, but let bygones be bygones. Now it’s time to recover from the loss and get his confidence back.
