UFC 114 fighter salaries and paydays for 'Rampage vs Evans'
The official fighter purses for those who competed at UFC 114: "Rampage vs. Evans" this past Saturday night (May 29) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, were released earlier today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (via MMA Fighting).
As expected, main event participant and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans was the big earner of the night. "Suga" came away with a sweet $435,000 for his unanimous decision win over "Rampage" Jackson, who banked a not-too-shabby $250,000 in defeat.
Former Ultimate Fighter contestant/coach Michael Bisping also had a big night, pulling in $190,000 for his decision win over the venerable Dan Miller ($15,000). Not far behind him was the former PRIDE star Antonio Rogerio Nogueira ($120,000), who squeaked past Jason Brilz ($11,000) for a split decision victory.

Evans doesnt deserve shit
He’s just as boring as Fitch, Couture, GSP…
Seems like the blanket/LNP/Wall’n’stall strategy is spreading like a virus.

This is a sport not a gladiator match. I think you are confused. You just called out some of the best people in MMA as not deserving shit.

If it’s not some sort of brawling/striking or submissions it’s not fighting, it’s just an athlete winning a physical competition like wrestling is (not fighting) and that’s not what the fans come to see, cause it’s boring. Guys are so scared to get taken down these days because they know you lose a decision even if you’re dominating from your back, it forces guys to hold back and it ruins the striking game big time.
guaranteed 99.9% of all fans saying Fitch, GSP, Couture, Rashad have exciting styles are people that have either
A. been wrestling in high school/college
B. never watched boxing/K1 or any street fights and is just a soft nerd following MMA thinking you’re a cool guy and something special for watching it, MMA is a joke right now i wish there would be some rules and like a FIFA to football taking over so they can get some structure if not it’s not long before we get to see WWE business deluxe, it’s already on it’s way of happening to the UFC and Dana loves Vince McMahon.
It’s going to be a pleasure to see Shogun kill Rashad. And to some time see Rampage hopefully being aggressive for once, if so he’s going to kill Rashad whenever he wants just like he nearly did with a lame attempt.
buonasera, nerds.
jersey shore!
I'm a wrestler and even I hate the way Rashad fights
Wrestlers get a bad rap from mma fans because if performances like this. All Rashad did was stand way on the outside, rush in and land one or two punches, clinch and wait to be seporated. Worse yet when he does manage to get the TD he doesn’t throw any ground and pound and lets the guy back up. In the Thiago fight he threw no more than five strikes on the ground. There are plenty of exciting wrestlers in mma, but they are over shadowed by guys who have no interest in engaging, throwing GNP, or working for submissions.

King Mo vs Jon Jones anyone?

put me in the 0.01% then
Cause GSP is always exciting to me, and Shad’s performance over Page was nothing short of awesome. I didn’t wrestle at all ever and I’m far from a “nerd trying to be cool”, whatever that means. I just fully understand the sport, and that’s something 99.9% of fans don’t have, so that’s why most find wrestlers boring. I find some tiresome, but that’s just the not busy ones. GSP, and Shad and the top of the top are too busy for me to be bored.

Roberto, go back to watching your street fights and blowing Tito.
You blame the UFC of getting too “WWE-like”, yet your favorite fighter is Tito Ortiz.
I AM SOMETIMES BIASED - Get over it!!!!!!!
i think its time for some contract re-negotiations for Cane.
John Hathaway over Diego Sanchez -- I called it. Next prediction -- Matin Kampmann submits Paulo Thiago
Counting down the days till Shogun vs Rogerio 2 (which now seems to have increased dramatically)
No. 2 member of the *Tibau to Featherweight* movement
19k to a guy who lost?he doesnt need to re-negotiate he needs to not get ktfo in 2 fights in a row then negotiate…
right now he has 0 room to negotiate his contract hell his next fight might be win or go home for him,
dana is kind of to cutthroat with guys now that he knows he has plenty of talent in the pool, rightfully so but a lot of these guys he cuts still have a lot of fights that a lot of people want to see hell even kimbo has some good fights in the ufc if they woulda kept him

I presume syn meant Cane deserves a pay cut
Because he’s not turning out to be as good as expected, since smashing Solo he’s been lackluster in all of his fights.

u cut him then
Reducing ANY names pay to lower then 20k a fight is fucking ridiculous even if his name is only as big as Cane’s that’s enough. You don’t fight for lower then 20k when ppl know you, in UFC. Fuck that.

Im disgusted at how much that boring ass Bisping makes
Bisping can’t bust a grape.
And lil nog getting that much when he fucking lost to Brilz.
Brilz shoulda gotten 90% of that money.
Kim the boring ass korean shouldnt get more than 10k either, that fight was such a fucking snoozer.
by Lester The Pimp on May 30, 2010 1:37 PM EDT reply actions
hey genius
you think they decide what to pay these guys after they fight? Lil’ Nog’s $80 g’s to show is part of his contract.
MMA is Life
yes
You think they should be reduced pay? How bout giving the others more money. I mean for real, Rampage gets 250k for being in “The biggest fight in UFC history”, as they said over and over last night? Doesn’t make sense to me.
I’m glad Bisping has enough intelligence to take advantage of what he can. Wish the others made more like they deserve.

Dana moronic post-fight quote alert re: Rampage/Rashad
The fight went exactly the way I thought it was going to go. People were asking me who I thought was going to win,and I said ‘I have no idea, but I bet this is the way it’s going to go,’ and I explained it pretty much the way it happened.
Uh…WTF????

It’s a good job that Jason won FOTN to make up for losing a close but controversial decision to Nog Light. Hopefully John got a bonus as well for pulling off a big upset.

the ufc should add like “upset of the night” award or something because brilz won that fight and still only made 11k? nog made 10 times that, hell nog shouldnt have gotten a win bonus either…
hathaway too 22k and he beats diego sanchez? that bonus would make a lot more younger or less talented guys fight a whole lot harder
i dunno man,
I don’t think they’d fight harder at all. The up and comers are already fighting as hard as they can cause Hathaway etc, know that raises come with beating guys like Diego. You make the paper from beating the names. If the night didn’t have some crazy twists (I still think Hath deserved it), FOTN would’ve went to Hath/Diego. But I see what you’re saying, its a shame Hath doesn’t get a FOTN and Brilz got it cause Dana thought the call was controversial. They both deserved it but to be fair Hath will get his chances now. Brilz is still a bit of a “?”, at this point.
