UFC 114 post-fight press conference video airs LIVE on MMAmania.com immediately after 'Rampage vs Evans'

UFC 114: "Rampage vs. Evans" from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, is set to go off tonight (Sat., May 29) live on pay-per-view (PPV) beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
Immediately following the event, promotion president Dana White and a handful of participating fighters will be on hand for the UFC 114 post-fight press conference, which is now embedded for an approximate 1:30 a.m. ET start time.
Be sure to tune in for post-fight reactions from all the major players as well as up-to-the-minute results of all the post-fight bonuses including "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night" and "Submission of the Night."

If you did then thats you…This fight was so horrible that immediately after The commentators are alluding to the fact that it hasnt been solved… Even the winner knows that nothing was accomplished.. there was no clear winner. rashad inflicted no damage.

but I just wanna add to what the real Zack said, Ray-shad is indeed boring! A lay-and-prayer that does virtually no damage. Though it’s nice to witness athleticism like that(ala Guliiard) once in a while!

Shogun’s looked outstanding lately and I’m worried about Rashad’s chin, he’s been hurt badly in his last 3 fights now and it’s a worrying pattern. If Shogun hurts him then he’ll look to finish, you won’t see him stand and wait for Rashad to recover like Thiago and Rampage did.

terrible fight. rampage was defending for the whole fight so i don’t know how he thought he was gonna win, guys won’t run in to counters all day.
Had he brawled and never stopped moving forward he would have won he could also have went on the offensive in the grappling but he was only thinking defense.

i watched his fights with Story and Taylor and thought he’d out grapple Diego.. there was a little bit of his stand up in the Story fight, and almost none in the Taylor fight, but i liked what i saw.. didn’t think it’d be as much stand up, but hey. he did work him with some elbows, which is what i was looking for. great performance by Hathaway.

good call on Thiago/Kampmann.. i think Fitch/Alves loser is too big a movement… and i doubt they’d match him with Hardy. Swick seems a step down after Diego.. Kos is tied up with GSP… theres Serra? but another step down. i dunno.. cant’ wait to find out though

I’m not too convinced with Kampmann at WW and Paulo’s got some good power in his hands and good BJJ. Hathaway has a great chance at beating either of them though, especially with his huge reach.

My deal with Paulo
is that his grappling is overrated. He wasn’t able to get Swick down, didn’t really get anything on Fitch (yeah he had his back briefly,but didn’t really do anything), and I still hold that he lost to Volkmann due to the ground exchanges. Hes got terrible stand up technique, but he has power. I think Kampmann submits him. Guillotine. Danish specialty

Lil Nog always seems to underwhelm against lesser fighters, first Soko now Brilz. However I’m confident that he’ll rise to the occasion in the bigger fights.
Great call on Hathaway by the way, I always knew that it would be a dangerous fight for Diego and good job convincing me to go with that gut feeling. Great to see a top grappler come from this country, hopefully more former rugby players like John will take the sport.

yeah, but my theories never even came to the test he was too busy defending himself and when he finally came forward it was too late. unpredictable things happened all night so i was ready for this loss, not that big of a letdown to me.

speed and footwork are two different things, Rashad didn’t get into any real striking with Rampage and utilized his speed, he literally ran in when he went on the attack. Rampage had a horrible strategy of sitting back and should’ve been all attack bell to bell. Point is footwork is only gonna do you good in a striking match and Rashad forced it into more of a grappling match.

I said that the only way Shad wins is by UD. I believed that Page would catch him eventually when they got into an exchange and that almost happened. Had Page finished him you wouldn’t be gloating right now.
That said I give props to Shad for attacking and having the better strategy. He deserved that win because he was aggressive and dictated the fight.

pointed that out too. i never really saw a clean shot to Rashad’s chin/temple or anything, and they slow-mo’d that moment in the fight a bunch of times. Rashad ran right into Rampages’ hips/knees and shook himself up. I can’t believe Rampage only half landed 2 shots during that flurry. Weak sauce.

It was hard to see even in the slo-mo, and there was only 1 angle
so its debatable either way. I do think Ruhshard landed more punches when he had Rampage down at the end of the 3rd round.

Rashad landed way more and cleaner strikes in the 3rd. Page is tough as he’ll so rode them out. If he was more sharp he could’ve finished shad in the 3rd. He didn’t though and I nearly broke my leg punching it!

DAve I don't know what Rashad can offer up to Shogun...
Shogun off his back is great. Shogun is also hands down the stronger striker. His chin is going to be tested in a big way against Shogun and I don’t think he survives 2 rounds. I still think RAmpage vs Shogun would make for a better fight.
I give it up to Rashad for winning the fight but outside of the 2 or 3 takedowns, he did nothing but lean against the cage and Rampage. I do realize it is Rampages job to get off the cage but the fight proved nothing much at all.
It proved that Rashad could hold Rampage against the cage for 10 minutes, therefore dictating control and giving him the win, but there was 0 damage done. I also think his knockdown of Rampage in the first was more Rampage stepping while getting punched and losing his balance.
I also comend the both of them for being completely classy after the fight was done during the interviews. They both gave each respect and left the trash talk alone.

I gave Rashad his due! He controlled the fight, dictated the pace and where it went. I just said that there was 0 damage done by Rashad, but i also said it is Rampages job to counter his wrestling and get off the cage. So why is that to much. It was a lackluster fight, would you not agree? Rashad was dominant yes, but there was 0 damage done. They both walked out as healthy as they walked in. They both could fight this week if they didn’t have the automatic 7 days(well it is customary to get 7 days after a fight) because of nothing happening in this fight.

all that strength workout he was doing and he couldn’t really take Page down against the fence. He got him when Page was throwing punches and stuff, which is still the best way to do it, but i was surprised with Ruhshard’s inability to really take down Page.

but Evans was having ZERO success in going for clinch takedowns against the fence.. i think the UFC and everything hyped his wrestling too much. I know they overhyped the fight in general, but i think they zoned in on his wrestling and did too much on that

Rashad looked great, he had Rampage badly hurt from the first punch and used superior wrestling technique to wear down Rampage and overcome his power, doing damage when he had him down agains the fence. It’s worrying as a Rashad fan to see him wobbled again (third fight in a row that has happened and for the second time in the third round of a fight he was winning) but it was great to see him recover and control the rest of the round. As for Rampage that’s what having the same predictable stance, inferior training and pure fighting stupidity (why he didn’t try to finish a hurt Rashad is beyond me) will do, great talent and strength but wasted on a clown and he paid for it tonight.
Almost perfect picks, if I hadn’t have forgotten to put in my bets online I would have won a load of money on Rashad, Hathaway and Bisping. Bloody Duffee cost me the full set though and the judges did me and Lil Nog a favour.

Shad has to prove he is a top 5 205’er and if he can beat Shogun then he belongs there. Despite his win last night, I can still see a ton of holes in his game and just like it was easy to game plan for Page it will be easy to game plan for Shad from Shogun’s perspective.

Evans did exactly what I thought he would do. Use his quickness get in and out, get a takedown or two and win a decision. Cant blame him for fighting smart and going for the win. However I cant stand watching the Evans/Machida styles. Dont get me wrong its actually the smartest way to fight but is just not fun to watch. I rather see GSP impose his will on someone than watch fights like this one tonight. Am I the only one who feels this way.

Outside of the Hardy fight....
I think GSP generally does more damage from the gnp and I don’t believe I have ever seen a GSP fight where he pressed the cage for 10 minutes. GSP also scores most of his takedowns and hold dominate positions for long periods of time. Rashads performance may have been as fun to watch as a GSP performance, but he did not put in a 1/3 of the work that GSP puts in.

I just think that GSP is much more dominant and active when he gets guys down to the ground. His ground and pound very often forces guys into making mistakes.
Of GSP’s 15 fights in the UFC he only has 6 decisions. Of those the Hardy and the 3 rd Koscheck(where Koscheck actually got the first rd on 2 of the judges cards) fight were the most boring. Alves and Fitch recieved pretty good beatings (Fitch especially was beaten to all sorts of new colors). The BJ fight the first one was a great fight (and a lot of people feel that fight could have gone either way). I vaguely remember his fight against Miller or Karo but Miller is not easy to submitt or KO (only subbed 1 time and ko’d 1 time in his 31 fights).

A lot of people called what happened tonight,I was one of them Rashad isnt a great fighter- He is a Very Good wrestler. That first shot wasnt a big shot,pages legs were crossed up it was more of a pushing punch,rashad held him next to the fence the whole time,Just saying if your gonna talk a bunch of shit sayin IM KNOCKING YOU OUT THEN SLUG IT OUT.Thats what we paid to see a scrap what you got was a half hearted wresteling match go to state and watch you’ll see what you saw tonight,I did jump out of my seat when Page hurt rashad.other than that i sat on the couch shook my head and thought fuck im dumb for paying for this!

I’m soooooo sick of fans wanting wrestlers to stand and slug it out. Rahad wanted to win this fight (which 75 percent of the people on here didn’t think he could) and get another title shot.

Couture-Vera, I was there live and was cheering for Randy but all he did was wall and stall
The only good parts of the fight were Vera’s strikes that wobbled Randy in the first, dropped him in the second and his takedown and transition to mount in the third. Randy was very lucky to get a decision in that one and put up a very poor and boring performance, it was the only fight all night that silenced the crowd.

All Randy did the whole fight was attempt a takedown, Vera succeeded in a takedown in the third, got mount and dropped Randy with a body kick in the second. That should have won him the rounds over Randy’s wall and stall tactics. In this case Rashad deserved the win for rocking Rampage in the first and succeeding in takedowns throughout, plus you can’t score a fight for someone if they do nothing in the round like Rampage in the first and second.

Khan-Maidana and Bradley-Alexander are great fights
Hopefully Amir can retain his belt, he’ll need to use his speed once again if he’s going to win but I’m worried about Maidana’s punching power.
Boxing and MMA are both great sports and produce great and poor fights. I personally enjoyed this one as I’m a Rashad fan though if I was supporting Rampage like Zack then I’d have been frustrated like I was cheering on for Hardy against GSP. My quick thoughts before bed...
Rampage was hesitant and needs to get back to Pride his style if he wants to have any success against the top UFC LHW. Too slow, too flat. I still hate Gayshad more than ever, let’s see him do this against Shogun. BZ, let me know what the sig will be. Rampage should have finished when he had the chance, but Rashad was clearly the better fighter tonight.
Russow! Haha it was great seeing him get the KO as I had almost 3:1 odds on him against a buddy of mine and everyone in the room was laughing their assess off. Good times. Duffee is young and will get there… but not as fast as his physique might indicate. He needs a lot of work, unfortunately its hard to train your chin.
Brilz won the fight and this decision left a bitter taste in my mouth. This is how boxing got destroyed after fixed fights and terrible decisions. And I don’t want that to happen to my favorite sport. Just awful, Lil Nog should be ashamed of himself for saying he thought he won. I could see in his eyes at the presser that he didn’t believe what he was saying. This shit really made me and all my friends angry, and the crowd obviously knew it too. I hope Nog gets a step up in competition and gets knocked the fuck back down, since he did not win tonight.
Hathaway is great! He never once backed down from the exchanges with a star like Sanchez and for 22 years old is one of the future top prospects at WW. I was immensely impressed. Swick, Saunders or Kampman next for him please. Sanchez, back down to 155 I guess…
All in all a great night of fights! Disappointed with my boy Page, but no excuses. Rashad won the only way he could, by decision. It just calms me to know that he has to fight Shogun next, good luck with that…

Looks like Rampage said something that he shouldn’t, that comment about Fox suing him was very weird and Dana seemed to try to hush it up when he heard that. Also great news that the UFC are planning on doing an expo in the UK, should be a great weekend. Hopefully this means that they’re planning on giving us a good card even if it’s on Spike.

It amuses me that right after rashad has a dominating performance everyone starts bringing up the shogun fight and how rashad is getting knocked out. Come on for real. Shogun doesnt have an ounce of takedown defense. You haters on rashad lay and pray style are going to really hate him after the shogun fight. But guess what he stood toe to toe with page for most the fight and now he is going to switch his style against shogun and gnp him all night. Because thats what top fighters do. They train to their opponents weaknesses and thats how the best in the game WIN!!
