UFC 114: 'Rampage vs Evans' officially sold out

Further confirmation that UFC 114: "Rampage vs. Evans" is primed to do big business for Zuffa, the event, set to go down tomorrow night (May 29) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, tickets have officially sold out.
At the UFC 114 pre-fight press conference, Dana White stated that never before has there been so many ticket requests for a UFC event and that the hype and buzz surrounding UFC 114 was similar that of UFC 100 last July.
While UFC 114 is unlikely to approach the type of staggering numbers that UFC 100 did in terms of pay-per-view buys, with all the media work Dana and company have put in over the last week on ESPN, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Dan Patrick Show, etc., coupled with the release of the uber popular UFC Undisputed 2010 video game, this event certainly has the chance to reset the bar in terms of PPV business for 2010.
UFC 114 will run in conjunction with this year's Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, which is currently taking place, and will feature a 205-pound grudge match between former light heavyweight champions and Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 coaches "Sugar" Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Don't get it
Why would anyone think this event is “huge”?
The card is extremely weak, the main event is only DECENT at best.
There is no title fight, and in my honest opinion the main event winner should not be getting the titleshot.
rampage STRUGGLED with JARDINE of all people in his last fight, Evans STRUGGLED with SILVA in his last fight, and the fight before that he lost by vicious KO.
No, they should have had the winner fight lil nog/jones/anderson for the undisputed #1 contender.

i think dana is secretly hoping page wins at least theres an angle there
personally if silva annihilates sonnen id give him the first title shot,theres the revenge angle for machida and like u said put the winner of shad/page against lilnog for no.1 contender.

the promos and shows on both guys had big numbers for spike. i think it rollsover for the buys for the ppv’s.

it was to the guy who said this event won't be huge. it is the most heavily hyped fight in ufc history
until lesnar/ carwin in july. so i just mentioned that i think they will do a quite respectable 850,000 buys. if you are asking about your post rua has the belt and if anderson silva gets first title shot it would be against rua if he still has the belt. shad/rampage winner gets rua. that has been already said. the night rua beat machida on espn(where they had the interview) he stood right next to rashad and they asked him who he prefered. he said both were worth fighters.

my bad
a rashad/rua fight doesnt get me going in the slightest though thats why i made the comment about dana secretly wanting page to win.i think every man and his dog wants that.and u know what danas like about promising title shots he could very well give it to a.silva.

yeah course but page was already busted up going into the fight
if we took a poll on it id be surprised if more maniacs voted for shad/rua over page /rua.like u said page draws numbers rua/shad would have to have a pretty good co-main or strong card to pull in serious numbers imo.

that might depend on how well the a-team does. it comes out in a week i think?
that movie has had heavy promotion and when i first heard about it i thought it would tank. now i think it might make around 125 millionto 150 million dollars. lets see how big the first weekend is.i’m just saying that rampage is already complaining and whining and if he loses this fight i don’t think even dana could work his magic here. rampage: a man has got to know his limitatations. Rampage Didnt Struggle Vs Jardine
Nor did Rashad Struggle with Thiago. This is MMA, Its a competetition. Its supposed to be that way. And how is this card weak. There are alot of high profile names on this card. Besides Elite 205ers doing battle, we also have a chance to see how Bisping bounces back from losing to Wand. We get to see Lil Nog in action again. Hard Hitting Duffee can show us his quick KO wasnt a fluke and we get to see Diego Sanchez fight. Whats wrong there?
