I love how bitches like you talk shit about a fighter when you wouldn’t even have the BALLS to even step any where near a ring or a cage. The guy has been busting his ass for years. You do realize fighters age right? With age and training they become more injury prone. So what it he complains etc…he’s earned that right. He’s done more than probably ANY of these new fighters will EVER accomplish. It would be different if he didn’t accomplish squat and was moaning and complaining. Then it’s different. I’ve had to deal with my share of injuries and I certainly know how it feels. Thank God I’ve never had to have back surgery though. I think Tito needs to look at what he has and what he stands to lose if he continues to compete. I don’t know how he feels but fighting is hard on the body.

Tito has really lost the benefit of the doubt with most people. He went into the Machida fight saying he was in the best shape of his life, after losing he had a bad back. He went into the Forrest fight in the best shape of his life, after losing he had a cracked skull. He wanted a fight with Chuck, now he backed out with a neck injury that probably didn’t spring up overnight.

I had
surgery on my back for a herniated disc between my L1 and SI. I couldn’t sleep, sit, or walk right. Pain from a disc pressing on the spine is 10 out of 10. People who have never felt the pain can’t even imagine what its like. Its amazing that Tito even stepped into the cage with that injury, let alone went 3 rounds with Machida and almost triangled him. For that, Tito will always have a piece of my respect. Besides that piece, I can’t stand the dude! I met him at WEC Faber vs. Brown 1 and he was the biggest douche ever. The amount of douchebaggery he exudes is astounding.

I had some tissue damage between my L3 and L4 a few years back and even to this day riding in a car for more than a couple hours can be painful.

A fighter shouldn't suck if he has an injury
its that simple, i think its a bit bs that he accepted the fight if he already knew he was hurt, a fighter shouldn’t step into the octagon or agree to it if he thinks before he even trains hes not going to make it there. We all know fghters rarely if ever go into a fight 100% but if you know your going in about 30% or under cos of an injury, its not going to look good for you as a fighter and its doing stuff like that that will get you cut from UFC. When i heard that Tito pulled out i thought he was a chump but considering it was to have surgery i gotta respect that, for us non fighters if you had the flu, you wouldn’t go to antartica would you? so why should an athlete compete with an injury. It was the same as when Tito fought Forrest, every1 could see he had a black eye before he started the fight, yet people boo him when he says he came to fight with it. I have nothing but respect for Tito as a fighter even tho as a person he can be a dick, but thats his thing.

I think the casual fan still follows him big time
I know that his fight with Forrest last year was a pretty big draw. The hardcore fans like you and I may prefer tuning in to a technical fight such as Lyoto/Shogun or JDS/Gonzaga, but Chuck is still a huge draw and that guy hasn’t won in almost 3 years.
I'd have to look at the numbers(can't right now) but I don't think his PPV's get better numbers because of him.

I do believe that the casual fan does still know who he is. I believe his being with Jenna puts him on the public radar. I know that UFC 106 pulled in between 375 and 400,000 buys. That’s with being the 2nd card in November. Pretty decent.

105 was free so it wasn’t like people had to pay for 2 PPVs in quick succession and it was beaten in the buyrate by 104 which was headlined by a hardcore fans dream in Machida-Shogun.

that Tito knew he wasnt gonna fight and f**cked the UFC on purpose. Why would he agree to coach, just a couple months before late Marchj(the date he pulled out) if he was having all those pains, etc, etc, etc. Answer….he knew damn well. He didnt start having numb legsn pains, etc, etc, etc after TUF started. What a joke.v This tool was hated b4, cant wait to see how many more hate him now. I really hope Dana screws him over and fires him or makes him wait another year or so to fight, then fees him to Jon Jones, and the top LH in UFC

Just came off a major back surgery, a year lay off and he fights one time against Forrest Griffin. Then he had a cracked skull. Who knows how long the lay off on this neck surgery’s gonna be. I just don’t see the point. The guys body obviously is shot; athletes don’t come back “better than ever” from major back/knee surgeries. Shit just doesn’t work that way; he’s only getting worse and deteriorating faster. Not to mention all that time spent in recovery and not in the gym; anyone’s technique would suffer with as much time as this guys spent in rehab. Lets face it; he’s done. If Dana brings him back for one or two more pay offs it won’t surprise me, but Tito may not even be a B level fighter anymore.

HE said the LAST time he had this surgery that he lived with the pains ETC, ETC
for 6 years. SO he just f**d the UFC. He didnt agree to do TUF and fight Chuck afterwards in Jan 2010…..then in the next couple months and weeks after TUF started all these pains and numbeness, and cracked skulls showed up.
He simply f**Ked the UFC to give him some tv time for his dying career. Guarantee you that he had NO INTENTIONS at all in fighting Chuck. He simply found THIS is a real convenient time to get this surgery again. HE damn well knew 2 months ago when he agreed to fight Chuck that he had problems. All these major problems dont jsut occur in days or weeks. Tito even said he lived with them for 6 years last time

I think it's fair to allow him to recover this time
Then have him fight a Jon Jones or re-match Couture. That would sell tickets, and if he pulled out of that fight, then maybe say he should move on. I’m not a Tito fan, but I believe in allowing people to recuperate and give them the benefit of the doubt.

My jaw dropped. Never liked Tito, but I loved this move. You could tell he really made Dana uncomfortable. I also loved how he could set Shamrock off any moment. Like the time at the press conference when he had Shamrock say, “I’m going to beat you into a living death”. Tito starts mocking him, and Shamrock sends a chair flying.

Everybody fights with pain….I have worse injuries than Tito and have been fighting MMA and serving in the USMC in two combat Op`s in Iraq. It`s an easy out for Tito. Thats all. Nobody has had more excuses for losing than Tito

this is a surgery he needs to be at 100 percent, it works both ways now since he will have no excuses….
I would have had the surgery as well considering he has 5 years or so left, might as well fight at 100 percent…

Tito is always pain free and in the best shape of his life until he has to fight Chuck. Chuck was right, Tito only agreed to this just to get his fat face on TV. I dont think he had any intention of fighting Chuck and he called Chuck out, what a bitch!! Dana should know by now that Tito just wants to get paid and be on TV.
Maybe if he can Chuck one year older and slower before he actually fights him,

Easy Target
I’d love to see most you guys in the ring. It’s easy for people to criticize when they have no idea what’s it like to get injured over and over. I personally have some limited experience and it’s not easy. Compounded with age when your body does not heal as quickly. I always hope for the best when people get injured and hope he still has some fight left in him. Regardless of his attitude or even if he has lost some fights I have seen him take fight against some very skilled opponents. Including Machida who he stood with for all 3 rounds and tried to make a fight of it. People should lay off a bit and let’s see what happens.

As soon as you’re caught lying you lose credibility so the next time that Tito fights people won’t buy into the hype, they’ll just think of him as the liar who uses injuries as excuses for poor displays and they won’t watch the next time 100% Tito is fighting.
