On a serious note, I’ve always liked Tim (I think because I felt bad for him after watching that Blind Date show). I was a little worried when he came in over 300lbs again, but I was still confident and this was an easy match to call. Where are all the guys who thought that being able to pull a plane that doesn’t hit back, or tossing an anvil a quater-mile would make you a world-beater MMA superstar?

Fedor went from fighting Tim Sylvia who was coming off a UFC title fight, fought the #2 ranked Arlovski, was scheduled to fight top 5 Barnett before he fucked up and instead fought a tough Brett Rogers. His next two fights will be against Fabricio Werdum and Ubereem.
Give the man some respect. Just because you’ve only been watching MMA for a couple of years now doesn’t change his history. He’s been the no.1 ranked HW for 7 years now.

I have been watch the UFC since the begining back in 93. When Tim was the champ the heavweight divison was weak. AA was finished after Tim beat him. As you can see AA hasn’t fought the same since then. How can you be ranked #1 for 7 years when you haven’t even fought in the top organization against the top heavyweights? Why do you guys give him excuses for not fighting top guys? Who did he fight in Pride other than Nog and Cro Cop?

Cain Velasquez, Shane Carwin, Brock Lesnar, and JDS are the guys that he needs to prove himself against, right? FYI, none of those guys have fought each other yet so uuntil one of them beats all the others, then you really have nothing to say. Brock Lesnar beat Frank Mir, Randy Couture, and Heath Herring which is a worse line-up than Fedor’s last three even if you ignore his entire history.

He was a great champion and a wonderful person. The HW division is far too good for him now. That is why he is still working for everyone but the UFC. He will continue to toil in the lower organizations fighting former UFC champs and cast-offs. PRIDE hasn’t been around for 5 years, Brock was wrestling in the WWE back then. Times change. The first time Fedor fights a REAL contender you all will see that. No more fights with the Rogers’ and Arlovski’s of the world.

When he he facing a modern day top 5 fighter. Werdum isn`t one and AA and Sylvia were not one and of coarse Rogers probally the best out of those three right now wasn`t one either. I like Fedor but he`s getting to much respect for what he has done lately and living on his NOG days still. If you think Fedor is ducking the UFC because of its current competition, you’re sadly mistaken.
Fedor refused to sign with the UFC back in the day when Randy Couture was the champion and the two top contenders waiting in the wings for a title shot were Nogueira and Sylvia. Give me a break.

My point is that Fedor’s attitude towards signing with the UFC has remained consistent. When Dana was busting his ass trying to get Fedor vs Randy to happen, (Fedor and) his management said they didn’t like the terms of the contract. They, however, showed complete willingness to have the Randy fight when he defected. The same is, I think, true of any of the UFC’s top heavyweights.
It’s not the fighters – it’s the UFC itself that (Fedor and) his management have a problem with. It’s fucking offensive to suggest that Fedor is ducking a 4-1 fighter who had his belt gift-wrapped to him and hasn’t really even defended it.

I suppose Chuck Liddell was nevery any good either.
Prime Nogueira x2, prime Crocop, Tim Sylvia, Andrei Arlovski, Semmy Shilt, prime Heath Herring, Mark Coleman when he was still good and still undefeated. There isn’t a single HW that comes close. And Fedor isn’t even a true HW. He defines p4p because he could actually fight at MW.
Not bashing Fedor here, but fighting HW with his skill set is probably easier than fighting LHW or MW. He’s fast and has power and ground skills. The only thing that most HW offer is power. They are the least skilled of any weight class. I think Fedor is actually pretty smart for fighting HWs.

Speaking of Chuck. Who did Chuck fight when he was champ? Tito, which Tito will never beat CHuck. Randy which slipped and got caught in their last two fights… Other than that really not a great bunch of guys… Chuck got lucky when Tito beat Forrest the first time. If Tito hadn’t then Chuck would have lost to Forrest. As for GSP, he was winning the first fight between him and Hughes untill Hughes caught him in a armbar. As for Coleman, he never evolved into a mma fighter… As for Pride their HW divison had three big names. Fedor, Cro Cop, and Nog!!! There were other decent fighters but those were the best HW’s and they beat everyone they matched up with. Untill they fought Fedor… How many years have UFC fighters been calling out Fedor? Chuck called Fedor out when he was champ. There have been tons of guys in which have called out Fedor before they left the UFC or that is in the UFC…
