Georges St. Pierre vs Georges Laraque grappling match on 'Off the Record'

MMA vs. Boxing has been a hot topic lately. But MMA vs. Hockey?
UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre has accepted a challenge from friend and fellow Canadian Georges Laraque for a grappling match at the Tristar Gym in Montreal.
TSN will broadcast the showdown on Friday, May 21, 2010, at 6 p.m. ET on "Off the Record."
The 33-year old heavyweight hockey player, who last skated for the Montreal Canadiens, appeared with "Rush" on a recent episode of "Off the Record," where he promised to use his weight advantage against GSP and "pick him up and body slam him."
St. Pierre doesn't see it that way.
"The problem is Georges believes I am like a tomato can you can grab at the supermarket and you can lift it and do what you want. He's going to find out that it's not that easy. On the ice I would never go against him, he's going to beat me and I agree with that 100 percent, but on the floor I have no problem."
GSP is considered one of the sport's finest wrestlers depsite having no collegiate background. How he deals with Laraque's size and strength will all boil down to technique and speed.
No one in the UFC seems to have an answer for St. Pierre's takedowns. Will "BGL?" Tune into "Off the Record" on Friday night to find out.

Just one more thing to prove GSP is greater than BJ...
GSP will handle that NHL dude, while BJ had trouble with that Fox tv show announcer. Although later they found out the fox announcer was greased.

only thing Chara does is throwing his opponents to the ice. He really doesn’t like to fight but he’ll do it anyway to give his team a boost.

But Chara’s fights are not even really fights even when they happen. Noone came even close to really battling with him. McCabe being thrown around was priceless

If an arm bar is applied properly, ur tapping or getting it broken. My son gets me in arm bars when we fight sometimes, when he has me in a tight arm lock and lifts his hips, I can feel the pressure. He’s 8 and I’m a lot bigger and stronger.

he aint a dirty bastered….hes an enforcer on the team. thats his job. to stick up for the little guys and to fight. hes definatly one of the toughest guys in the nhl…. and he plays for more than a hand full of games…look back at the oilers he played full seasons.just recently hes not playing alot. but gold diggah are u expecting him to split the D and score goals like ovechkin? maybe there was a knee on knee… but so many players do that… including ovy.
right now hes playing no games!
