UFC 'Primetime' ratings on Spike TV for 'Rampage vs Evans' the best ever
Move over pay-per-view (PPV) powerhouses Georges St. Pierre and BJ Penn, the UFC 114 main event is where it's at ... if television ratings are any indicator, anyway.
The first of three episodes for the latest UFC "Primetime," featuring former light heavyweight champions -- and arch enemies -- Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans, reeled in approximately 1.2 million viewers for Spike TV last night (May 12).
By comparison, the first series (Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn) in early 2009 never eclipsed the million mark, and the second (with Georges St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy) earlier this year maxed out with around 1 million viewers for its premiere.
Episodes two and three are scheduled to run prior to UFC 114: "Rampage vs. Evans," which is set to take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 29. In fact, you can catch them on May 19 and 26, respectively, at 11 p.m. ET on Spike TV.
