this is the fight of the year and the best fight ever in UFC history.
so much quality and skill in both fighters that it can’t be a bad fight.
best thing is Shogun has this, Machida can come in with whatever plan he wants to but at the end of the day he’s still gonna be a lesser kicker without the hand skill to break Shogun’s tight D.. The fact that the judges saw Machida winning 3 rounds is laughable, Shogun arguably won all 5.

I actually thought it was the best ever.
gets the argument going about the first fight and who is the better fighter, other than the usual stuff where you get to see some stuff that has basically nothing to do with the fighting and just their personal lives.
I don’t know if Ed Soares has ever seen a kickboxing match, they should bring in Daniel Ghita he would kick Machida’s legs out of the arena.

Koscheck is hinting
about standing with Daley, and in his prior bout with Alves and 2nd fight with Diego (long time ago I know) he seemed to be really stubborn and shy away from using his wrestling. It’s strange because whenever Josh wrestled anybody in the early days he was accused of being a blanket (literally) and decided to focus more on stand up to become a more mainstream fighter, not exactly consistent with the “holy grail” of MMA which is to be a completely well rounded fighter. Daley has a LOT of knockouts on his record, Josh has a lot of wrestling wins prior to TUF 1. I’m predicting a stubborn Josh, ignoring his camp’s pleas to take it to the mat, standing and getting clipped by a lethal punch in round 1. Either way I’m looking forward to an awesome scrap!
He tried to take Alves down but was stuffed every time.
And he wanted to keep the second fight with Diego standing because that’s where he had the advantage. The one time he took Diego down he was immediately reversed, and he was getting the better of the exchanges on the feet. Plus Diego has never been known to have KO power, so standing with him isn’t the world’s biggest risk. I’ve never been a fan of Kos, but he’s grown on me in the last couple years. I think he is talking about standing just to get it into Daley’s head. Once the fight starts I think it goes right to the ground and I don’t think Daley has any answer for Koscheck’s ground game.

plus kos took that fight on 2 weeks notice....preparing to fight alves on 2 weeks notice is fucking ballsy
alves had already had a full camp cause he was preparing for someone else that ended up pulling out weeks prior to the fight (i forget who, if someone remembers lemme know)…so dana hit up kos at the last minute and kos always the company boy stepped up and took the fight with a 2 week training camp against a guy who had a full training camp….and who just happened to be the 2nd greatest ww on the planet…
yea kos got dominated and was rocked hard numerous times..but alves still couldnt put him away….but i’d love to see a rematch with kos getting a full training camp…they say if kos wins he gets gsp next….but if they decide to sqeeze in shields to fight gsp…and alves beats fitch i’d love that rematch

I’d bet my money on Mitrione. Kos is going to have a tough time as well and I can’t wait for Shogun and Machida to throw down again. Hopefully Shogun wins, he deserves it.
