I think peoples personal views of Mo guide them to believe he started the trash talk
Moussasi is such a respectful and respectable fighter that its hard to believe he would start the trash talk but we all know those kinds of people who throw those soft underhanded jabs at others. Plus I think Mo felt disrespected by Moussasi’s statements and considered it “trash talk” when most others listening would have considered it a point of view or statement of fact on his opponent. What I got most out of this is that Mo is not a “poor man’s Rampage”. If anything, Rampage is a more popular “poor man’s” Mo. Mo is so much more articulate, seemingly more calm and with a higher capacity to learn and pick up new skills.
I still love watching Rampage fight tho.

Sry but to me it seems like you try really hard to sound smart. Where are you getting this? Mo is is a young, green fighter who hasn’t even fought anyone in probably the top50, if such rankings even existed. Rampage is a legend and has fought/beaten the who-is-who of MMA for over a decade.

King Mo hasn’t proved he can hang with a top ten fighter. But if he can get by Gegard he will face most likely Dan Henderson next.

I’m not trying to sound smart at all. lol too much work.
I always took the statement of Mo being a poor man’s rampage to be about Mo’s attitude and demeanor and his constant joking around. I love Rampage and definitely respect his long list of great fights. What I’m refering to is the fact that I think as far as intelligence, strategy and over all personality, Mo surpasses Rampage. Mo IS young and has a long way to go to surpass Rampage as a fighter, but I think he has so much more potential than most give him credit for because of his constant antics and sense of humor. I don’t see a ghetto mentality in Mo where as Rampage seems to try very hard to embrace it.
When King Mo had only one fight under his belt he was calling out Rampage Onemansyn
He cut down Page’s game and character and the only reason he did it was for his own publicity?
freenow82 I’m looking forward to this fight and honestly besides Sobral there is not a great fighter on Gegards list either and it pretty padded, but he has talent no doubt. King Mo might get destroyed but I like his style in the octagon and I think it will give Gegard problems along with his strength and athletic ability wich I think is superior to Gegards. I’ll take you on a sig bet I’m 5-0 in sig bets and feel like taking a risk on King Mo.

It was a mistake in my eyes to call out Rampage. Young ones make mistakes. But its marketing. And it sort of worked cause I saw a video with him and Rampage in a van along with Bobby Lashley. Its exposure. He is trying to get his name out there. That’s why I think he uses all the playing around and silly antics. He thinks of it as a strategy. Again, as a fighter I don’t believe he is on the same level as Rampage. Yet, I do believe he has all the potential to reach that level and not be as self-destructive or “put-offish” (is that a word) as Rampage. Rampage is a love him or hate him personality because of his humor.
Do I think he’ll beat Moussasi, pretty much unlikely but I’ll pick him to beat Moussasi before I would have picked Hardy or before I pick Maia or Edgar to beat their opponents. I fact, I give Mo a 45% of beating Moussasi. Moussasi is an amazing fighter but he seems to of fallen into believing the hype and overlooking Mo.

but the one thing i disagree with you on is that i dont think 45% is fair.
Mousasi has beaten proven killers before, and Mo’s toughest fight was mike whitehead.
Mousasi DESTROYED babaloo and sokoudjou. He’s submitted Denis Kang, Manhoef, and KO’d Jacare. So by that, Mousasi has to be considered a big favorite, based off experience. I think he takes this fight without to much struggle……

but for some reason I just cannot see Mousasi losing this. If it was 3 rounds, then maybe. But in 5 Mousasi will find a way to finish him.

Usually this “trash talk” happens because “journalists” want to construe any comments made in the media as controversial to garner more views, then the fighter will respond to these misconstrued comments which sound worse than they actually were

i was at his fight with Babaloo, and in my opinion, it looked like he had been hangin out with the Diaz bro’s in the locker room. He was SUPER relaxed haha he looked totally out of it. Maybe thats why he’s always relaxed.
