Grappling all-star Renzo Gracie talks about his place in the UFC after he makes his Octagon debut at the tender age of 43 at Saturday's UFC 112 event in Abu Dhabi. The former PRIDE fighter has a history with BJ Penn both in and out of the ring and could try to bring closure to that chapter in his life -- but he has to get past Matt Hughes to do it. Anyone taking Country Breakfast in this fight or will the Gracie legacy prevail?

i've always disliked Hughes
So, though I assume he’ll weather the storm, but I would be thrilled if Renzo pulled the upset.

The sad thing is
People will be watching this fight to see him get beat down but he’ll believe they’re all his loyal fans. I want Renzo to make him scream like GSP did.

I can’t stand Hughes. I would love to see Renzo lock in the guillotine and put Hughes to sleep, but I sense 15 minutes of lay n pray on the horizon.

Probs +170ish. Not to say he can’t do it, but he’s 43 debuting against a well seasoned vet that still has some gas in the tank.

You’re golden at 300. I’m still probs staying away. The only glimmer of hope I saw was GSP rolling with Gracie, since he’s been there with Hughes 3x and clearly has his #, but even so…

Whats the crack with +300 -600 and all this when it comes to betting? Say you bet 100 bucks??

If you bet 100 and the odds are +300 for Renzo
Then if he wins you get your money back plus win 300. If the odds are -600 and you bet 100 you will get your 100 back and win 60.

+300 : If you bet $100 you will win $300 (Underdog bet)
-600 : You have to bet $600 to win $100 (Favorite bet)

+300 means
…If you were to bet a dollar on Gracie and he won you would walk away with 4 dollars (1 of which was your original dollar) so, 100 bucks and a gracie win makes you 300 plus your 100 invested.
Now at -600 you’d make you’d have to bet 600 dollars to make 100 if your taking the favorite at -600. So to make 100 off Penn you’d have to bet 800. Lol useless.

Not 60 per 100 cause you’d still make 360 off of betting 600 @ -600 then. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Of course when you’ve fought as much guys as hughes And the cailber of guys that Hughes has fought you’ve pretty much seen it all still this is MMA so all it takes is one lucky punch/kick or a carless motion to be submitted so every opponent is dangerous do some fighters believe that I think dome say they do but they truley don’t anyway it goes both are awesome fighters just give me an awesome fight

Will be much more interested when...
Roger Gracie and Alexandre Ribeiro make it to top-flight MMA.
It’s time to start looking forwards rather than back. There’s too much recycling of old talent going on lately – the next generation of mixed martial artists will have evolved as the sport is still fairly “fresh” and to keep bringing up Hughes/Renzo/Tito/Chuck etc. as headlining matches may do more harm to the sport than good.
Im not sure who I dislike the most,
Tito or Matt. That said, I think Matt Hughes is going to beat the crap out of Gracie on Saturday.

If you are Canadian like me you dislike him even more. He has talked some trash about Canada/Canadians in the past, cant stand him and would love nothing more than to see Gracie beat his ass but Im sure that isnt going to happen!!!
