As far as I know there will be a Primetime special for these 2...looking forward to it

yep, can’t wait for the prime time special! excellent trailer for this fight! Rampage all the way!!

Rampage 1st round tko! there is no escape in this one. I can’t see Rashad taking Rampage down more than once and i can’t see him knocking him out or staying away for so long, his distance and defensive skill won’t allow him to do so.

Rampage all the way baby, he’ll teach Rashad some real moves when it counts, all Rashad is doing is jumping around the octagon like look at my footwork when it doesn’t even matter.

by RoBerto. on Apr 29, 2010 3:59 PM EDT up reply actions

my thoughts exactly

but Page has only hated an opponent once (Wand) and we all know what happened there…looking in shape aand being in shape are 2 diff things…the problem for Page is that 1 outta 2 isn’t going to cut it against Shad

won't argue, you could be right.

Performing on fight night is what it’s about. I do think Page is receiving unfair criticism however for being not being in good shape, winning like he’s done in all but 1 fight in which he was injured shows to me that he’s usually always performing at a high level and that’s a strength to not lose on not so good nights.

the only problem i see with his style is that he’s not defending leg kicks but that’s also his way of setting up his boxing. You’ll also see him land a couple nice leg kicks vs Jardine and taking him down twice if you look back with Rogan & co on mute.

Evans

Evans all the way on this one. Rampage is to slow and Evans wrestling is more superb than Rampage. I with you guys with a KO in rd 2 though. But it won’t be Rampage.

by taporsna on Apr 29, 2010 2:43 PM EDT reply actions

Who are you kidding???

Rampage is gonna lay Rashad out. Gotta factor in the experience advantage Rampage has. Just look at some of the wars he’s been in, and you think he isn’t expecting Rashad to come with the take downs? Gimme a break.

Even if Rashad get's the take down...

Let’s not forget that Henderson tried the wrestling on Page and Page dominated. Henderson is a more decorated wrestler too.

Lets not forget that Page

is coming into this fight under the same circumstances he came into the Griffin fight; long lay off and outta shape. I’d like for him to win but I’m going with Evans on this one.

I think he just underestimated Forrest…he won’t make that mistake with Rashad.

lol

Go check the Forrest fight; then compare his physique to his next fight against Wand. You’ll see the diff.

Not to mention

He was fasting and drinking nothing but energy drinks then went on a real road rampage afterward. Yea he was not mentally/physically ready to fight Griffin or anybody else for that matter.

I think you just made my point?

That’s not the case this go around. He’ll be in the best shape of his life for this fight just like when he went in to fight Wand. I recall him disliking Wand a lot as well and wanted to make a point in that fight. Sound familiar?

by N8dogg007 on Apr 29, 2010 3:14 PM EDT up reply actions

lol

He’s coming in off a long lay off and he let himself go again during his time off; that’s what sounds familiar to me. Especially when right after the Griffin fight his exact words were “I’m never taking that much time off inbetween fights again.” because he acknowledged inactivity was not good for him as a fighter.

to be honest about Rashad, even though he trains his ass off, he seems to be slowing down in the 3rd round every fight he’s in from all the running and bouncing he has going on in there, his head movement looks real fun.

Rampage did go 5 rounds with Forrest that night and he did score a knockdown in the first, then did decent i would say looking at what happened to his leg. I think ppl give him too much crap for that fight, if Rashad had injured his leg in the Forrest fight we could have seen a performance just like that from him in which was a close fight until he won.

I agree with taporsna

I have been watching Evans and Rampage for years. I really doubt Rampage will be able to get the knockout. I think that they both have pretty equal stand up, but Evans has superior wrestling. Out of shape or not, Rampage is going down-and he should for training with Mark Coleman. :]

last night during the tuf show they were showing promos for the fight at every commercial out west.

rashad with takedown and brutal tko in second round. rampage just going to try to knock rashad’s head off in first round and rashad will dance until he gets tired. he will get tires and when he does then rashad gets the takedown and the rest is history. WAR RASHAD “SUGAR” EVANS!

I Agree

That is why this fight will have such a good buildup. You get the feeling the fight could go either way. It kind of feels like the fan base is split close to 50/50 as well, which adds to the excitement. I am pulling for Rampage and think he will take it via KO round 3. Rashad, with his takdown attemps, will run out of juice like he did with T. Silva. However this time when he gets rocked in the 3 it will be lights out.

Rampage

Rampage will gas in this fight. Rampage is outta shape and he’s more concerned about making movies than fighting. Evans is going to tear him up.

That's why Page resigned with the UFC for a 4 fight contract...

Cause he’s more concerned about making movies…cmon…gimme a break. Page is gonna come in this fight in the best shape he’s ever been in simply because he wants to destroy Rashad. I doubt he’s ever been hungrier for a win.

And as a fighter they’re willing to pay him more cash than he’d receive as an actor. I’m sure he’d prefer acting to fighting if he could get the same kind of $$$.

this fight

comes down to POWER & CHIN…Rampage has more of both…..I don’t buy Rampage gassing out, if he didn’t gas against Forrest he’s not gassing against Rashad, plus I still think Rampage should have got the decision against Forrest. I’ve seen Rashad gas several times (i.e. against Bisping, Thiago). Rampage has been in quite a few 3 and 5 round fights he’s not gassing even if he’s out of shape. People will see that although Rashad may seem like an elite fighter, he really is OVERRATED.

That is fun to say. Brings a smile to my face thinking about him saying it. That was great. Although, I felt his pranks fell a little short of being funny. hahah all the Rashad backers don't know shit

All pointing to “Rampage is outta shape” or “he’s coming off a long layoff” .. you better hope that those are some serious factors because that’s the only shot Rashad has and let me tell you it’s not a very good one. Even with that, the only way Rashad can win is by outpointing Rampage over three rounds. That is doubtful just to let you know.

Let’s see Rampage has better power, better chin, better wrestling (ask Hendo), more stamina and just better overall footwork and movement not to mention defense. I don’t think Rampage has been touched on his chin cleanly in six fights in the UFC. He has the best cover up for sure and what’s so good about his defense is he’ll cover up and then unleash two power hooks in a blink of an eyelash.

‘Page is better and it really isn’t close.

rashad does come from the jackson camp so i think were all getting fired up over nothing. I see this fight going exactly like the thiago silva fight with rashad trying to push him against the fence and do absolutely nothing and hoping he gets tired. But i think if page lands that one punch like thiago did it will put rashad to sleep.

chuck was coming off the second tko win over tito

he was in his prime..bear in mind rampage is the onyl fighter to beat chuck twice.

eastman was over 3 years ago lol not really a relevant argument..hendo is an olympic greco roman wrestler and rampage easily handled him….

rashad got rocked and shudve got finished by a completely gassed thiago..it doesnt bode well sugaaaaaaaaaaaa
