The official fighter purses for those who competed at WEC 48: "Aldo vs. Faber" this past Saturday night (April 24) from the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California were released earlier today by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).

The WEC's first pay-per-view event was supposedly designed to largely increase fighter paydays, but according to these numbers, there doesn't appear to be too much of a difference in this fight card's payouts and other WEC events that preceded it.

Defending featherweight champion and fast-rising pound-for-pound contender Jose Aldo walked away from his title defense with $40,000, the highest salary of any of the card's participants. His opponent, Urijah Faber, pulled in a cool $28,000.

The promotion's lightweight champion, Ben Henderson, earned $26,000 for his first round submission victory over Donald Cerrone, who took home $14,000.

Keep in mind the salaries listed above do not include fight bonuses, sponsorships, percentages and other unofficial payments. It also does not include deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes, etc.
