Jake Sheild’s seems like a cool guy but he’s mediocre in the UFC and a relatively boring fighter to watch.

He's already beaten Semtex and is a horrible match-up for Hardy
Alves, Fitch and Kos would all be tough opponents but Jake has proven that he belongs with guys of that caliber. Hell he just beat the supposed #2 in the division above him, don’t count out his chances at doing well in the UFC.

Just taking Jake will be a blow to Strikeforce’s image and if hr stays it’ll be a blow to their budget. Which is probably hurting since they hooked up with Fedor’s crew.
Now imagine this. The UFC swoops and picks up the rest of the cesar camp when their contracts allow it. That would be a huge blow to steal away their champions. I’d love to see Nick back in the UFC myself.

I’m more hopeful now that he’s not blaming those guys for starting the brawl, I was worried about Nick Diaz in particular as Dana has called him out for being a troublemaker in the past and a guy that talented should be in the UFC in my opinion as should Gil and Jake.

I agree that Shields should have been pissed. It was his moment and Miller had no business being where he was at the time. But the Diaz brothers, having already pissed on KJ Noon’s parade a couple of years ago, have no reason whatsoever to bitch about Miller. Too bad it didn’t happen to Nick instead of Jake Shields.

It was Mayhem that instigated the whole thing by ruining Jake’s moment when he wasn’t being considered for a title shot in the first place and it was SF’s fault for letting the muppet in the cage in the first place. Sure it could have been handled better by all parties (though Jake was pulled away so quickly that you could hardly blame him for the violence) but if someone ruined the biggest moment of your life or that of your best mates then I doubt that anyone would just stand their and take it, especially if you fought for a living.

Dana White is such a joke
He sits there talking about how Strikeforce is a rinky dink operation and about how ridiculous it was that the fight broke out. Well I seem to remember Rashad Evans stepping into the cage and giving rampage the next fight talk after he had just won, not to mention is was dana white that told him to go in there and do that. Then he goes on to defend the diaz brothers of that fight and the one of the diaz brothers is in the ufc. So he is defending the diaz brothers for partially starting the fight, but then talking down strikeforce for letting it happen.haha He acts like all he is worried about is the sport of mma, but come on everyone knows all he is worried about is how much money he has in the bank. Just wait, when and if dan henderson wants back in the ufc DW will let him back in and give him the money, just like what happened with Tito Ortiz.
Dan was never a big draw and he just lost to a welterweight on national TV...
I am pretty sure we won’t see him in the UFC again. Tito was always a huge draw and one of the most popular fighters ever, you are comparing apples and oranges.
Also Rashad coming into the cage was carefully orchestrated and the UFC has a smart 3-man rule for team-members/corner so that there can’t be a stupid brawl like that. Plus Dana was in the cage to bring Rashad in and he didn’t just appear out of nowhere and “sneak in” like Mayhem.

are you saying that 3 men on each side of the team cannot create a brawl? Because I am pretty sure it only took miller and the two diaz brothers along with melendez and shields to create that situation. That is only 5 people that created that brawl. Everyone else was in there to split it up and prevent it. I’m just saying its BS how Dana White defends the diaz brothers, but completely down talks strikeforce and how that fight broke out. I don’t see him down talking any boxing events that have had multiple brawls in the same type of situation.

The whole Rashad-Rampage thing was planned and the staredown was done after Rampage’s interview, why else do you think that Rashad was brought in to do commentary and invited into the ring? SF had no plans to have Miller rematch Shields, he was supposed to fight Lawler, instead they let the moron run in when Jake was trying to answer his first question and demand a fight that had never been planned.
I’m in full agreement with Mauro and Dana, what Miller did was shameful and classless and it’s no wonder that the brawl took place when he did something so selfish.

Mayhem was wrong
Although Mayhem was wrong for stealing lay on em shields thunder, thats no excuse for a bar brawl in the ring on national tv. 5 on 1 is pitiful and seeing as Mayhem didn’t really seem to take any damage from it doesn’t say much for the gracie camps “brawling” ability.
UFC....Greatest one on one sport there is!!!
