UFC to hold second Versus event on August 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah
If someone would have told you five years ago that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be holding an event in Salt Lake City before New York City, your first response would have most likely been something along the lines of 'child, please.'
Well my friends, the "Big Apple's" chances of beating out the "City of Saints" in hosting a UFC fight card looks 'bout ready to 'kiss the baby.'
The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that according to Bill Colbert, the director of the Pete Sauzo Utah Athletic Commission (PSUAC), the UFC has officially requested to hold a Sunday night event at EnergySolutions Arena on August 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Colbert also stated that the event will air for free, live on Versus, making it the second UFC event to air on the cable network.
Stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more information on this developing card as it becomes available.

From BaseketBall... (probably not exact quote)
The Minnesota Lakers moved to LA where they don’t have any lakes and the Nashville Jazz moved to Utah where they don’t allow music, lol

Its from basketball
And it was a funny ass joke, especially if you live in utah and aren’t mormon.
Going to church doesnt make you any more Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car.
Sooooo...
You live in Utah, aren’t Mormon, can’t listen to music and thinks that baseketball is funny? Poor kid.
Damn!!
I thought I heard a while back that it was supposed to be in Oakland. I guess I’m not going =(

salt lake city?
is there a strong correlation between mormons and mma fans?
never have any regrets, because at the time, thats all you wanted to do
suprisingly
yes there is. i am a mormon, and I love MMA. And I hold UFC parties and most of the people there are mormons too. It may seem weird, i know, but we are huge fans.
Word frickmagic
Finally some love for SLC! I’m a Mormon too and get together with all my buddies for every PPV fight. This house aughta be PACKED!
I was raised Mormon but am completely against it now, but all respect if it's what
you believe, but I’m from the Taylorsville area in Salt Lake and I’m glad to see them give us some love finally. I’ve been dying for an event to come here forever.
I wish I was there, I served my mission in Provo and this had been there when I was there, I would have to sneak out of the mission and go haha.
That’s awesome! I served in Brazil, and would have loved to do some BJJ training out there! So where are you from?
well then i hope its a good one for yall
i know like 3 mormons and they all think mma is the most disgusting sport around today. every time i try to explain it to them they just wont hear it, glad to see that salt lake has a lot of mma fans.
never have any regrets, because at the time, thats all you wanted to do
Cant hate SLC
They took way too long to schedule Utah. We dominate most states in UFC ppv’s…Gauranteed we will have a crazzy ass show @ the E.S Arena!!
that's only cuz
there’s nothing to do in Utah but stay inside, watch tv, play games with the family and have sex. And I’m speaking from experience. I’ve been through their and that place SUCKS
Interesting that you had that experience Dion
I can assure you, it’s not shared by everyone who’s been through there.
Guess it just depends on what you like to do. I could go on a long rant about all the stuff there is to do in Utah, but I’d rather go out and actually do it.
