UFC 114 prelims on Spike TV with Escudero vs Lauzon and Kim vs Sadollah for May 29

Lauzon-escudero_medium_medium

Spike TV will once again air a portion of a UFC fight card on its network prior to a major pay-per-view (PPV) broadcast, as fight fans will be treated to one hour of uninterrupted mixed martial arts competition on the UFC 114: "Rampage vs. Evans" undercard on Saturday, May 29.

Currently booked for "UFC Prelims" is a lightweight showdown between Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 champion Efrain "Hencho en Mexico" Escudero taking on "The Upgrade" Dan Lauzon.

Following them will be a 170-pound clash of styles when another TUF alum, Amir Sadollah, tests his worth against the dangerous Dong Hyun "Stun Gun" Kim.

For longevity's sake, hopefully the televised prelims for UFC 114 will outperform the televised portion of UFC 111 and the 1.2 million viewers it garnered -- an all-time low for the series since its 2009 debut.

UFC 114 will run in conjunction with this year's Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and feature a 205-pound grudge match between former light heavyweight champions and Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 coaches "Sugar" Rashad Evans and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Also slated for the main card will be another former light heavyweight champion and TUF coach in Forrest Griffin, who tries to quell the recent uprising of former PRIDE star Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueira.

Here is the current "Rampage vs. Evans" line up:

Star-divide

Main event:

205 lbs.: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. "Sugar" Rashad Evans

Main card (Televised):

205 lbs.: Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
185 lbs.: Michael Bisping vs. Dan Miller
170 lbs.: John Hathaway vs. Diego Sanchez
265 lbs.: Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow

Under card (May not be broadcast):

155 lbs.: Melvin Guillard vs. Thiago Tavares
170 lbs.: Dong Hyun Kim vs. Amir Sadollah
155 lbs.: Joe Brammer vs. Aaron Riley
155 lbs.: Efrain Escudero vs. Dan Lauzon
205 lbs.: Luiz Cane vs. Cyrille Diabate
185 lbs.: Jesse Forbes vs. Ryan Jensen

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of UFC 114 beginning with the PPV telecast at 10 p.m. ET. In addition, we will deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the under card action much earlier on fight night.

Remember to check us out for all the pre, during and post-fight coverage you can handle.

how did Cane end up way down there? 1 loss to lil nog and he ends up fighting Cyrille Diabate?

Fedor invented a language that incorporates Sambo and Kimuras.

So next time FEDOR is kicking your ass, don't be offended or hurt, he may be just trying to tell you he likes your hat.

Solid card

definately a buy for me. I think this will be the first time I’ll be rooting for Rashard.

best card of the year so far IMO.

Excellent matchups for everyone. Most of them should be competitive and show us something about each guy except for the Forrest fight – he’ll just get chewed out.

That's bullshit!

How the hell is Cain vs. Diabate not on the main card? Haven’t seen diabate since he got his head smashed in. By shogun in pride.
