Dominic Cruz: I can beat Joseph Benavidez 9 out of 10 times (Video)
He's already get one in the bag after a unanimous decision back in 2009 ... will the trend continue?

I would have to agree.
Both looked great last night, but i def think Cruz is the better fighter right now. For the sake of fresh fights id like to see Jorgensen get the next shot at cruz. Maybe give Benavidez Bowles, and if he wins, then let him get another shot at Cruz. Provided Cruz can handle jorgensen.

agreed
jorgenson is on a tear and has earned his shot
That guillotine was sick. Dude tapped with both hands AND both feet.
I’ve never seen a guy get lifted in the air like that before.

its a mean one
that style of guilotine is so mean, its not a blood or air choke, it smashes you adams apple to the back of you throat (so i guess its kind of an air choke, but it’s the pain that makes people tap), i find near imposable to get on people, and pretty much forget about when rolling, but jorgenson pulled it off like a champ, i would be tapping with both hands an feet as well.
my wec world got rocked yesterday
1. pulver is done, very sad he couldn’t get one more win, but they should can mir, and give jens the comentating job
2. im a huge torres fan, and thought benivedaz wasnt all that great a fighter, i thought he was way over hyped, but now torres has lost more fights within a years time, than he has in the rest of his carrer
3. where the fuck did this cruz guy come from, i was very very impressed by his speed and footwork, but most of all, his takedowns were crisp, bowls is no joke but didn’t stand a chance. i hope some day we get to see cruz vs torres just because it will be so much fun to watch.
True about Torres...
But I can’t help but think it’s also due to the quality of competition. Sure, he’s a much better fighter, but so are a lot of others, and the 135 pool is pretty deep talent-wise.
Excellent point about the broken hand excuse
I think Cruz makes a good point about hand injuries influencing fights. I’m not trying to downplay Bowles’ explanation, but I think, if it’s true that Cruz broke his hand as well, that Cruz was simply the better fighter. By better I mean his will to win the fight. Fedor has broken his hand numerous times in fights, but that has never affected his performance to the point where he gives up. It says a lot about a fighter the way he handles injuries in the cage. Sure, some injuries really can’t be faulted for a performance (Corey Hill, for example), but with injuries like this, it certainly says a lot about the fighter.
I didn’t have much of an opinion about Cruz before this fight, but after this interview (and what he said about boxing), I’m a fan.
Not the best WEC event.
Worth watching though, we got an awesome headkick via pettis, And jorgensen came out with a brutal highlight guillotine. Main even was going great until Bowles quit, very anti-climatic.

I don't see how Faber did it,
finishing the rest of the fight with two broke hands, but I have broken my hand twice from punching and both did not feel the same, one time I could not throw a full pnch, but I could grab and hold without overwelming pain, But the second time, I could not do anything, could not even think about punching or even grabbing someone because of the pain of moving it or even touching my hand.
yep i have broken my hands a couple of times
And each break is different. It depends on the extent of the damage
-This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

ya i broke mine 3x i think
I don’t remember stuff like that to full extent, but 1 of the 3 times I couldn’t write for weeks and it looked like a bloody crab claw. I now crack all 4 knuckles each time I make a fist, without trying. Just happens from the way it healed. Oh well.

Cruz reminds me of Machida's first 4 ufc fights
he doesn’t ko peeople, but he makes an ass out of them.
Cruz really impressed me! Took Bowles 2 school!
Torres looked 2 cautious. U can tell his last fight with Bowles wa still in his head. He’s a gud fighter I hope he comes back stronger. Dam I really wanted lil evil 2 win yesterday . He needs 2 hangem up much as I h8 2 say. He can’t hang with these young guys anymore. I think he’s the 1st one 2 beat bj penn. 1st ufc LW champ

damn!
does brian bowles have a great chin or what? i seen him take like 2 really good shots yesterday and wasnt even rocked….but congrats to cruz man he looked really great last night
I think benevidez has the tools to beat cruz. Their first fight was a good fight. with a few adjusments i think he wins. he throws bombs and is very well rounded and confident after beating torres
Cruz has way better striking
Its amazing how well he picks his angles and moves around on his feet. I cant see Benavidez landing anything on him.

I think Varner takes the douch-bag cake
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
