Broken hands suck!

I’ve broken both my hands on different occasuibs. It is tough to get used to it. Wiping your ass with the the other hand sucks.

lol

I’ve never broken a hand but I can imagine how bad it would be to wipe with my left.

Damn

That hand looks sick.

I don’t know about everyone else though, but watching Cruz jump around and act like he just KO’d Bowles really bothered me last night. Personally I didn’t think that was the way any fighter would want to win a title, don’t get me wrong I know Cruz won the first two rounds, but it wasn’t like Bowles quit because he couldn’t fight. It was stopped by a doctor due to an injury that Cruz didn’t even directly cause.

Just kind of bothered me. Hope Bowles heals quickly.

Poor technique with the punches perhaps? I didn’t see the fight but that boy Cruz must have a hard melon.

Cruz pwned Bowles, simple as that.

I wanted Bowles to win, but he didn’t stand a chance. The gaping holes in his game became painfully clear once Cruz began is wacky assault. Cruz would change levels, angles, attacks, and he could counter beautifully every time Bowles came wading in with strikes. Normally, I wouldn’t think of Bowles “wading in,” but against Cruz that’s exactly what it looked like. Bowles would come in aggressively with strikes, but while he’s striking, the non-striking side of his body seems to be wide open. He kept getting countered, and I mean cracked by Cruz. Bowles was out-classed last night.

Yeah, injuries and cuts are a terrible way to win a fight

I know it’s a big deal for Cruz as he won a title in a decent upset but celebrating a win by injury is pretty embarrassing. Same as when Kenny started cheering when he cut Karalexis. A wins a win but celebrating an anticlimatic finish like that just seems wrong to me. Hopefully Bowles will come back quick, he should face Miguel in a rematch and prove what I’ve been saying, that the first fight was no fluke.

"Not a lot of professional sports down here (in Australia)"
"We just had our best season (of TUF) last season and it was season 10"
"Nogueira is probabaly the best HW of all time"

Dana White, proving that he's clueless about Australian sports, has never heard of Fedor and is still trying to hype up TUF 10.

Bowles has been having problems with his hand for a while now. You could tell it messed with his head after breaking it on the first punch he threw.

It sucks to see the fight end that way but props to Cruz, hopefully we’ll get to see a rematch.

a broken hand didnt stop faber...cause hes a true champion

and it didnt stop rich franklin either…they both broke their hands early and still went the full 5 rounds..bowles doesnt have the heart of a champ…we all saw the x rays of faber’s hand, that shit was nasty, his 2 fingers were snapped in half….but he went out there and fought one handed for 4 rounds…

just because you walk to the ring with gold doesnt mean you have the heart of a champion…cruz said he had a broken hand too…but

my dream fight would have to be Brock Lesnar vs Jake Shields...and before the fight theres a video of jake slapping brock's wife...then id like to see shields try to gay porn a win over brock using his butt sex merry-go-round tactics...the massacre that would take place would be the greatest thing ever televised...every limb jake has would look like corey hill's leg...god i hate jake shields

Not defending Bowles...

but not every break is the same. Bowles has had chronic problems so either he needs someone else to wrap his hands better or he may just not be healing right. To say he doesn’t have the heart of a champ is crazy. Couture had his arm broken by Gonzaga and was able to finish the fight while Cung Le broke Shamrocks arm and he was unable to continue. Does Frank not have the heat of a champ? Also going into a fight knowing you have a broken hand or an injury is different then getting an injury in the ring/cage/field or whatever your field of play maybe. There are things they can use legaly to help support a previous inury like cortizone injections, that take all the swelling down and have some pain killing effects even though they are not anagelsic.

Then to say if you can’t throw a punch that hard don’t throw it! It is a fight. I know control is a major part of a fight and combat sports, but when you are trying to ko someone, you kind of have to hit hard! With your adrenaline going and your heart racing and a championship belt on the line with to 20 something year olds in the cage, control maybe an aspect of the game that they still maybe learning. Brian Bowles ko’d a guy, very easliy at that, who up till this last fight was on most peoples top P4P list, so heart of champ, umm is a crazy argument. He is a young fighter with less then 10 fights and already has had one of the most prestigous lw belts around his waste and he took it from a guy who was on most everyones P4P list. He still has a lot to learn and fighters generally learn the most from losing.

I don’t care what anyone says yes he was winning the fight and easily, but celebrating a win through injury, is really not that much reason to cheer, nor is it the way a true champion wants to win his belt. How many times do we see guys win from cuts or injuries and say, well it is not the way I wanted to win. Again, Cruz is a young fighter with a big future but celebrating a victory like you just ko’d the guy in 8 seconds is kind of umm, whats the word I am looking for…Shitty! I have played for state championships and titles in baseball and karate tournaments and I am not sure I would want to celebrate that kind of win, a win were an injury caused a team or a fighter to quit or forfeit, but thats just me…

I dont see a broken hand as an excuse. If you cant hit that hard without breaking something, dont hit that hard. Just like when Shogun broke his arm against Coleman. He shouldnt have landed like that, its his own fault. I dont think this takes away from Cruz’ win at all.

A broken hand is not an excuse. Fighters break there hands all the time but don’t wuss out like bowles did. I don’t ever wanna see him fight for the title again. He doesn’t have the heart to be a champion. I’ve said before that cruz was a future champ and he proved me right. And if I won the title regardless of the circumstances I’d celebrate too. Its not like bowles had any chance of winning that fight anyway

“He doesn’t have the heart to be a champion.”

Yet he was. In fact, he did it buy KO’ing a guy that, at the time, was top 10 on everyone’s pound for pound list. I’m not saying anyone is wrong for criticizing Brian for last night. But he clearly had the heart to win the title in the first place. Maybe you’re arguing that he didn’t have the heart to become one of the greats?
