Wata' beatin''

Damn… never seen Torres get mauled like that in his guard.. and then to get tapped out . ..Yeah’’’ he has to be off everyones lb for lb list fer’ sure. Time to get rid of the mullet.. get a fresh start.

by THORAZINE on Mar 7, 2010 4:27 AM EST reply actions

Mauled is right.

I think Benavidez was almost too small for Miguel to control in his guard. He looked like a little Tasmanian devil once he got on top.

by HappyLittleTreez on Mar 7, 2010 8:35 AM EST up reply actions

this fight was kinda primed for a potential upset...not in the way it happened but

because Torres sucks at wrestling and Joe just needed to win two of 3 rds with TDs and survive the third for a close decision. I thought of laying action but chickened out. The whole card was full of great upsets.

Lose the mullet and get back to being torres…looked to me he was trying to mimick Machida but ended up with him just not pulling the trigger and being tentative

Did he tap from the choke or

from the sight of his own blood pouring out of his forehead?

by sudnvictory on Mar 7, 2010 8:59 AM EST reply actions

definetly the choke, joseph had his one arm locked up with his legs also

it woulda been stoped due to the cut if he didnt tap to the guillotine tho

by GOLDIGGAH on Mar 7, 2010 9:35 AM EST up reply actions

That is what I thought...

You would think he had never been cut bad before in those almost 40 fights. He shut down the minute he saw all the blood. My wife who even s thought the same thing. There was a point right after he gets cut, he wipes the blood, looks at it, and straight up freezes and you could seee panic in his face, then got rolled and subed!

Betting

Did anyone else’s betting provider not allow them to do a teaser? Would have taken Torres and Bowles……lol……thanks Sports Interaction

by DJF on Mar 7, 2010 9:11 AM EST reply actions

how do u tease a fight?

I parlayed torres/bowles and lost a ton.
I agree, and my wife said the same thing, Torres froze up at the sight of his own blood!

by kevjack115 on Mar 7, 2010 1:14 PM EST up reply actions

i lost on bowles and torres

Thank god pulver lost or I would have been 0-3. Torres needs to change it up a little and get loose, he’ll be back but maybe never LB for LB best again. Shitty “break” with the broken hand for bowles. He looked off the whole fight so that wasn’t surprising…

He’s going to throw a liver kick ~Bas~

by DrewMoney$$$ on Mar 7, 2010 2:25 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

I hope he doesn't blame the loss on the cut.

Benavidez kicked his ass the whole fight. The only offense Torres had were those silly heel kicks to Benavidez’s butt cheeks.

Torres… victim of his own hype. Adios, amigo!

Torres

did not look like the same guy in this fight. He was handled by a much smaller guy. Either most of us were wrong about Torres, or that Bowles KO changed him. Either way, I was highly disappointed in the card last night.

by Deuce02 on Mar 7, 2010 9:51 AM EST reply actions

Agreed

He looked too tentative. Alot of guys that get KO’d come back like that, but he definitely chose the wrong opponent to come back against. Torres’ strength was rushing his opponent and brawling. Last night showed that he might not be able to do that anymore. You’re not the only one disappointed in the card either. Just didn’t have that excitement to it, I guess. Good fighters, but it lacked excitement imo.

by n4tacon on Mar 7, 2010 11:00 AM EST up reply actions

I'm Happy

I feel like Torres disrespected his camp after his last loss. He blamed them for not pushing him but he didn’t push himself. I’m glad he got dominated by someone that he thought he should have easily beat. Let him fade into the sunset because he will not beat Cruz, Damacio Page, Scott Jorgenson or Benavidez in a rematch.

by knowone on Mar 7, 2010 12:10 PM EST reply actions

So much for Torres fighting like Andy and Machida

He’s still a quality BW but isn’t even top 3 at this point, there can be no justification for him being top 10 P4P anymore. All those that called his first loss to Bowles a fluke can’t complain about this defeat either, the fact is that Miguel bought into his own hype and is now getting found out against superior fighters. He needs to change something drastically if he’s ever going to regain the BW title.

Can't be the imitator

Tried to fight like Lyoto and got his ass handed to him, lol. Seemed like he was holding back in the fight and got beat.

Well...

His last fight he fought like himself and got his ass handed to him.

I like Torres as a fighter, but he has that typical Im an insecure kid with no sense of identity so I act like a tough guy rapper look in his eyes, and I loved seeing it smashed up and covered in blood, little punk.

Tough guy rapper? Which Torres are you talking about?

How many Torres fights or interviews have you actually watched? Apparently… zero. Torres is a cool guy, respectful and humble. Who the hell are you talking about?

That's five in a row

Hate to say it but it’s time to face the music, and I’m a Pulver fan too :(
