Nelson by TKO round 2.
Struve just doesn’t have the skills to beat Nelson, no chance in hell he submits him.
Lesnar > [Carwin] ---> Lesnar > [Velasquez] ---> Lesnar > [JDS]
Overeem will NOT show up on May 15th! Mark my words. Sig stays til then.
I have to agree. I like Struve, but he’s definitely not strong enough to keep Nelson off of him if he takes him down, and on the feet, Nelson does have the KO power. TKO in round 2 sounds about right.

disagree, Struve is just too long
12 inches height differential is a HUGE obstacle to overcome. Everybody knows this in striking, but people don’t realize how it also screws up all your angles with BJJ subs. Nelson is the more skilled fighter, but in a freak show like this, it may not be enough. Don’t be surprised if Roy can’t find his range or get any subs and Struve outpoints him on the feet for a decision.
I really hope your right shonuff

Struve seems smarter than other big guys like Sylvia and Schlit, and he's 3 inches taller than Big Tim
It’s really hard to armbar/kimura/leglock a guy who’s limbs are at such totally different angles than yours. And of course it’s extremely hard to take a guy down with legs that long and a stance that broad. When he sprawls or spreads, his legs are in different zip codes. I think this is just a STUPID matchup. Why have the shortest and tallest guys in the division go at it except as a visual spectacle. It’s certainly not a test of whose skill is better.
agree on Nelson taking it, probably by decision though
and Florian over Gomi!

Struve is free money tonight
I was a fool to think Bisping had any chance against the Axe Murderer, and even more foolish to bet agaisnt the great Puck Head.
I hope he pays out!

Just Some Opinions
Nik Lentz defeats Rob Emerson via unanimous decision
Gleison Tibau defeats Caol Uno via technical knockout (strikes) in round one
155 lbs.: Rafaello Oliveira vs. Andre Winner
155 lbs.: Ronys Torres vs. Jacob Volkmann
Gerald Harris defeats Mario Miranda via technical knockout (strikes) in round one
Charlie Brenneman defeats Jason High via unanimous decision
Yushin Okami defeats Lucio Linhares via technical knockout (doctor’s stoppage) in round two
Okami scored a Huge Stoppage Victory and even more ironic he did it on the bottom bottom of the undercard which sucks since he should have finished a fight while he was higher up on a card.
Also, I kinda saw Tibau dominating the Uno fight. Obviously, I havent seen it so I could be wrong but by looks of the outcome its probably time for Uno to be cut.

In their primes Hughes was better
and I think he’s not as far from his prime as Renzo. Still, it’s a fun matchup and I think a more even one than either of the title fights on the card.
I don't know much about Renzo honestly.
I’m a Hughes hater and can’t stand the thought of rooting for him but at the same time don’t want to lose a whole lot of ground in the pick-em pool. Renzo will put up a better showing then Royce did against Hughes though, would you agree?
by Captain Ernesto on Mar 31, 2010 9:10 PM EDT up reply actions
Renzo is more in tune with modern MMA rules
Royce’s style was more dependent on either having an opponent who didn’t know BJJ defense or having enough time on his back to tire them out. He never really rounded off his game. Renzo is much better rounded, but Hughes is too savvy to get tapped and will probably put a GnP beatdown on Renzo. But Renzo is a great guy and a great fighter and will never quit. He’s good to the last drop every time.

A few interesting match-ups...
I think Roy can hold his own against anyone in the division, he’s got an great chin and is pretty good all around. I’d like to see him against Mir, Nog, or Kongo next. Kongo would probably make the most sense as far as his progression up the ladder but I’d be interested to seeing how he does against Nog also. And it may be a good signifier on if Nog has anything left in the tank…

Wank Mir...
Y’all maniacs always hating on my boy lol…though he looked like SHIT against Shane, no doubt about that. I would like to see him against Roy actually. Big Country dominated him in a grappling match way back in the day when Roy wasn’t so fat, I saw the vid on YouTube and it wasn’t pretty. That would be a good motivator for Frank plus I’d LOVE to hear his fight talk on that.

Perhaps a rematch with Diego? Can’t really think of much else there. I seriously doubt they’d ruin Maynard’s future title aspirations with a loss to Kenny. Maybe Frankie after he loses to BJ?

he throws good combos mixing in leg kicks and takedowns. good in scrambles, great cardio, coming off a big stoppage of Hermes… but Tyson has an upcoming fight with Evan Dunham.. so maybe if he wins that he’ll get a fight with Kenny

There are no more steps up for Kenny
He’s a solid #2. No other LW is as good as him, except BJ, against whom he has no chance whatsoever. Gray and Diego would be the best matches for him, but diego has moved back up to WW and Gray doesn’t wanna gzet derailed from his title quest.
Kenny...
great fight by Kenny…I wish he would have told the truth about taking gomi down though. He got caught by a good punch, and decided not to stand with Gomi. I thought his gameplan from the start was to do that, and when he finally did….he dominated. KenFlo is on track for another shot at the title IMO….
