Definitely could use some swagger behind it.
Sounds stiff as hell. But I for one thought the whole black-white, physical-chess match aspect of the commercial was cool. Anybody know who that black dude was?

GSP is the type of guy that would undergo tactical training, buy a shotgun, and brag about how he has incredible shooting skills,..........then go hide in his "saferoom" if someone ever broke into his house because that would be the smart thing to do.
sure in this scenario he gets robbed, but in real life the fans are the only ones getting taken in by the hype. gsp hasn’t had an entertaining fight since matt hughes.

some of his earlier fights were entertaining, most were actually. but ever since serra knocked him out he has been fighting scared
he fights to avoid a beatdown, which is very boring. just calling it like i see it and if there are so many people pointing it out that you are getting upset by it jay, then maybe that should tell you something.
i won’t buy another of his fights because they are all boring.

Not a huge GSP Fan...
but he crushed Fitch for 5 rounds. A guy that has never been ko’d or submited since his first year in the cage in 2002. He beat him standing and on the ground. That was pretty entertaining.

Other champs have five round wars
because they are not able to completely dominate and school their opponents the way GSP does. You need to blame the No1 contenders, for not being skilled or good enough to make the fights more interesting for you. The fact that is capable of doing this to the supposedly best guys in the division shows what an incredible fighter he is. Stop hating or whine about the performance of his opponents, or better still just keep looking out for when Jorge Gurgel is fighting next.

GSP never bores me
I’ve been watching this sport way too long, and seen all of GSP’s fights. At this point, I know exactly what he is capable of. He knows exactly what he needs to do in a fight-especially after losing to Serra. Anything can happen in a GSP fight, so if you’re bored, then…You just suck as an mma fan. hehehehe!

I wouldn't say I was bored with his fight...
But knowing what he’s capable of, that’s why I’m disappointed. Normally he rains down the punishment while on top of his opponent, ESPECIALLY in side control. I think that’s what disapppointed me. I’m still a huge fan and I hope that he rebounds well.

well see how many times those guys gets finished in their remainding ufc career
and in fairness to GSP, there have been fights stopped for much less than the beating he gave fitch in that first round…it could have been stopped a few times

Yeah...
It seems like anytime there’s a young potential up and comer, one of the top 3 (Kos, Fitch, Alves) knocks them back down the ladder. That’s why Hardy got jumped to the front of the line and I could be wrong with the timelines, but Kos didn’t have a win streak and GSP had just beaten down Fitch and Alves consecutively. If Kos gets by Daley he’ll get the next shot.
hardy is not the future
the future had some sort of takedown defense, or takedown offense for that matter
He just needs a soothing salve for his taint, other than that he’s fine.

At least chair shots are entertaining
Watching GSP go takedown > full guard > counterclockwise half guard > side control > side control on the other side > back to half guard > side control clockwise > well, you get the idea. No damage and only half-hearted attempts to finish the fight via subs.

Sad but true, not one of gsp’s finest performances, would have loved to see him take on more risks, not fight like his life and families life depended on a W. He pretty much 0 risk, man he seriously needs some more therapy to help him get over the fear of the KO, he was doing great on his feet.

BOTH GSP and Hardy didn’t do well Saturday night. Hardy did literally nothing offensively, he had a few minutes standing with GSP, not much I know but GSP outclassed him there too, just keeping it real. It certainly wasn’t an exciting fight, you have to really be into take down after take down to think so. I think gsp was hell bent on getting a quick sub but it didn’t come, and was like a programmed machine, kept going for it until he ran out of time, to no avail. He really should have mixed it up more, struck more, try more ankle locks or rear naked chokes. I agree 100 % gsp was a more exciting fighter pre-serra/gsp 1 days but he isn’t really boring either, just not as exciting. Anderson silva took ALOT of heat for a couple lame fights in a row, the cote fight would most likely have gone to a decision if cote didn’t hurt his knee. Anderson silva totally redeemed himself with griffin, a guy tailor made for him, gsp fought 3 excellent strikers in a row, is it really surprising he used his best tool to try beat them where he had the best chance via sub or gnp? Anderson silva flat out refuses to go to the ground with almost anyone unless there hurt, with the exception of nate. You could tell both hardy and gsp were very nervous before the fight. GSP is still young and has a lot of room for improvement with his striking and jits, hopefully next time we’ll see him use them effectively, and try to take more risks.

All this crying about GSP’s “boring” style is…boring. Its the circle of life. Hopefully all of these bitter comments are heard by GSP, piss him off, and make him destroy Kos or whoever is next. Then you whiney, bitter people can be happy again.
