I care because Prior to the Suspension

He was a top 10 if not Top 5. Also he has fought alot of the best HW’s and has left alot to be desired after Affliction Crumbled. Did he have a gameplan to beat Fedor? Who knows… But I am very interested in Barnetts return to MMA.

I still question his resume though.

To this day his biggest win is over Big Nog in FOTY of 06, which IMO i thought he lost but then 3 months later, Nog handly beat him via boxing clinic. That and possibly his couture win. I don’t think he would have beaten fedor but it is an interesting matchup for sure since i do think he has the skills to takedown fedor and try to run game. I would love to see them exchange leglocks ala catchwrestling vs sambo.

Top 5 and probably top 2. He is definitely still relevant.

I agree

Letter to Josh

Listen buddy,

We’ve been through this before you and I. What is there left to say? We your fans need this next Win from you – - Mighty Mo – - isn’t really fair competition. Bring that W home, take a couple pee tests that turn out negative then…

Come back to NA – Sign with Coker and beat the bejeesus out the HW division there.

Your fan

Zino

I want Ricardo Arona to sign with the UFC and his first fight should be James Toney. This is a win win scenario for MMA

Sorry guys but he's no where near top 5

Fedor, Lesnar, Cain, Mir, Dos Antos, & Overeem would beat him hands down. Even Big Nog, Carwin, Gonzaga, Rogers and Kongo could probably beat him. With that said, he’s probably not even in the top 10. He’s a NOBODY!!!

Agreed.

The guy is cheat, bottom line.

Add me to that list too Champ

I got no respect for this chump! Fails drug tests in the US, and loves fighting overseas. Hmmmm…..

I can see the first 6 guys winning for sure

But Gonzaga Rogers and Kongo not so much. Sure he cheated but have you gusy written off Marquadt, Sherk, Franca etc… and called them nobodies? Everyone makes mistakes and Im not defending Barnett and his suspension but the guy is and was a top 10 HW. No debating it really.

He is not relevant anymore because he cant pass a piss test

Who cares about this bum if he can only fight freak shows in Asia?? I would have put him as high as number 2 until he pulled a grim reaper on Affliction. Now he shouldnt be ranked anywhere because no one will touch him outside of Japan.

“Did he have a game plan to beat Fedor?”

Yeah he had a game plan, it was to take a shit load of steroids.
Didn’t work out too well though.

Josh...

The DREAM card on HDnet is solid and will NOT be missed by ony hardcore MMA fan.

In regards to Josh, he’s only 33 years old, and he’s beaten some big names and regularly over a number of years: Randy Couture, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Aleksander Emelianenko, Jeff Monson, Pedro Rizzo, Semmy Schilt twice and others.

All of which are also now getting closer to becoming irrelavent

With the exception of maybe Couture, and Big Nog may have one more title run in him. The rest are has beens as well.

Really for most of the past decade - the cream of the crop HWs have been...

Fedor, him, Nog and Cro Cop. Yet if you compare their resumes – his is kinda empty. Cro Cop’s too in terms of high level HWs but he does have three Josh Barnett scalps. Fedor and Nog stand leagues above them in that regard. The young HWs of today are still building their resumes and have been in the game for only a few years so they really can’t be in this discussion.

Knobhead

I can forgive someone for cheating just once, maybe put it down to some naeivety. He’s a fucking cheat, fuck off. Don’t care how good he was, is, could have been, he’s a cheat.
