The monk footage was . . . .

intense . . . . to say the least, didnt expect that last night. GSP still has this one BUT i dont think he’ll finish Hardy like i had previously thought (just like everyone else GSP faces thats actually his size), another decision coming, Hardy has will and heart and focus, that will buy him 25 minutes, too bad he wont be mounting an offense at any point throughout the 25 minutes, monks or not. LOVED THE FOOTAGE THOUGH< GOOD STUFF (and at 18 years old . . . . LoL, really . . . ???)

Dan ‘the shaolin outlaw’ Hardy is one funny, relaxed guy. GSP is the one under pressure, beware the underdog. Will be closer than many think. Or am I dillusional just because I used to live near Hardy!!!? probably :(

GSP by 30 second tap out. But i'd rather see hardy win

Does anyone else HATE gsp’s feet?

HARDY!!!

1st round KO ! it’s going to be vicious. Love seeing him work with the champ Matteo Serra.

did anybody else

notice the preview for next week’s Primetime attached to the end of episode two? It was the preview for episode 3 St.-Pierre vs. Penn II primetime of last year! And they even promo’d it again during the UFC 111 Countdown show immediately following. I couldn’t believe it. That was a major freakin’ error and somebody at Spike should lose their freakin’ job. I mean how does that even happen?

by Dion03 on Mar 18, 2010 12:40 PM EDT reply actions

Yep

they screwed it up a couple times, and then finally got it right.

Hardy

I cant help but to like the dude. At firstm he got under my skin, but now, theres jsut soemthign about his attitude that you just cant help but to like. The Monk footage was cool.

However, i really dont see what the big deal is with him training with Serra. I really in my heart of hearts do not see what advantage of insight that gives him on GSP. I mean, the whole world saw what Serra did to GSP, thers no secret to it or what have you. He clocked GSp with a punch and it it was over from there. How does training with Serra give Hardy an advantage? Really? Its not liek Serra worked GSP for 3 rounds using this and that, no, he simply caught him with a good punch, i mean, we all saw that and we all saw what happened in the rematch and that was domination.

I really feel everyone and the Primetime show is making it seem liek Serra has insight and secrets to beating GSp, thats just ridiculous. And the way they ended episode one was a bit WWE cheese y for my taste.

by manalito on Mar 18, 2010 1:02 PM EDT reply actions

oh and by the way

GSP will destroy Hardy in the second round

by manalito on Mar 18, 2010 1:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Not to mention

He then proceeded to get his body turned to mush by GSP with all of that “knowledge”.

Not afraid to nitpick

I like Hardy as well. Didn’t really care for him prior to watching UFC Primetime but now he is growing on me.

I do think that training with Matt is a great idea and it is very helpful. Matt has trained for and studied GSP thoroughly for two seperate fights. He has also stepped into the octagon with GSP twice. He has seen things that he can teach Hardy about and he has also felt what is like to fight GSP. He knows what to expect from GSP and what to do to train for a title fight. I think that Matt giving Dan some insight and help is valuable. We all know that Serra got beat up pretty bad in his second fight, but just because he wasn’t able to excecute and win, doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have knowledge to help Hardy win this fight.

by RyanHobbs on Mar 18, 2010 7:22 PM EDT up reply actions

LMAO at serra knowing "how" to beat gsp.

He LOST to gsp badly the last time they fought, gsp owned him the whole fight, not just one strike and then serra unravelled like what happened in gsp/serra 1. Why doesn’t he go to matt hughes the other guy to stop gsp, or get some inside information with bj penn, who banged up gsp badly in there first encounter. Serra is such a goof, a dumb ass and hardy is a fool if he thinks serra can give him a tip to winning this fight. If hardy wins it will be from a well placed shot after gsp makes a mistake, but I doubt that will happen because of the nightmare serra/gsp 1 caused for gsp. I think gsp will do what he does best, mix it up and win by tko or sub, but I could be wrong.

Amazing production could fool a wise man :-)

What I love about these shows is they make you forget just how big a difference there is between GSP and Hardy. This level of production is the primary reason the UFC is so far ahead of Strikeforce, Dream, etc Its Hollywood meets MMA . . . . love it!

by DownUnder on Mar 18, 2010 1:12 PM EDT reply actions

I agree

I don’t think the guy that fought Swick could have improved enough to beat GSP in that amount of time. Hardy’s only chance is to finish GSP and that will not happen. He couldn’t finish Swick, GSP has been hit and hit hard since the Serra loss. Alves hit him hard a few times.

loved it. the part about Hardy going to China was great. Not a martial artist George?

I was a fool to think Bisping had any chance against the Axe Murderer, and even more foolish to bet agaisnt the great Puck Head.

i thinkit is wicked he went to train with the shaolin monks..

though it was 10 years ago..there is more to hardy than expected, he is and will be a great fighter..just not this time outlaw…bright future in the ufc though..yep

I hope hardy can defend gsp's taking downs!

I want 2 see the old GSP where he kick boxes & defends take downs instead of going for them every round. I know he duznt care wut we think but the fans will be way the hell happier w/ GSP win or lose if stands with hardy. I’ll be disapointed if gsp wrestles his way to a 5 round decision.

by d*locc on Mar 18, 2010 3:57 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Hardy won't stop the takedowns, he's admitted that himself

But GSP may well try and stand him. He’ll be smart with his gameplan though and try and expose Hardys standup. Failing that, it’ll be a dry humping session.

I would love Hardy to shock the world but just feel the timings not right on this one. That said, he’ll be a way better fighter because of the experience. Hardy has one of the best mental aspects in MMA, hanging out with the monks has left a real impact on his mental state.

Primetime even with the fuck ups is the shit.
