Looks like Nate is off his bread and water diet.

Looks better there, only one bad pic but,

I like Nate, and think that he is probably not as good as his brother, but still has some potential. Hopefully, the move up will do him some good strength wise. If not, he is going to have big problems with the wrestlers at 170.

he is going to have big problems with the wrestlers at 170

He arguably got into the top 10 at LW (I would argue he didn’t), but he has no shot at cracking top 10 at WW because of the wrestlers at WW. It’s gonna take him 2 years to put on the muscle neede to challenge guys like Kos and Fitch and I just don’t think he is disciplined enough to get there. I honestly see him leaving for SF when his contract is up.

Sizing up won't change the fact that he will lose at WW for the same reason...

he was losing at LW. The man like his brother has horrible wrestling and doesn’t move his feet. He also has that “i don’t care where the fight goes i’ll beat you standing and tap you on the mat” stupidity yet he cries when guys pin him into the cage and sit in his guard. If he couldn’t handle wrestlers at LW what makes him think he will do better in a division with even more numerous and bigger/more accomplished/credentialed wrestlers. Dropping or going up in weight should have a thought out purpose being it aside from i don’t like dieting.

Maybe he will be able to be more competitive without the cut. He has a good frame to build muscle on. I guess we will just have to see what happens. Nate certainly has talent, he was just having trouble with wrestlers. Hopefully he is able to correct that problem.

Where tha F*CK do my comments go??

Where do they go?…Cyber Space Heaven? or Cyber Space Hell to be ridiculed by Smurfs with IQ’s of 60?… WTF? Anyway, I think this is a good move, Nate’s 6 ‘0’ ft, 24yrs old n’ needs to put on muscle… if he’s to small he can cut back down to 155lbs… IMO… Nate will grow into a successful 170lbr within a few yrs.

agree ulf

He looks better is not anywhere near big enough for WW. And even if he was he’d still be no contender, not even a gate keeper!

Can’t wait to see him sail off to SF after this loss!!

If Clay Guida can keep you down, imagine what Kos or Fitch can do to ya.

Although after this fight with Markham, I would love to see Nate and Swick.

Swick is relevant to the WW division, he'd SMASH nate.

Nate is NOT his brother, he has no place among the upper echelon!

by SouthCaliStunNa on Mar 13, 2010 3:39 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

Swick is relevant to the WW division, he’d SMASH nate.

I am not completely sure of that. The only good win Swick has at WW is Saunders. The rest are gatekeepers. If Nate has a chance to be relevant at WW, he should be able to take Swick, who needs two solid wins at WW to be even considered for a title shot. Nate is a better win than Davis, Burkman or Goulet for Swick. (maybe not Davis).

Hell, Swick’s best win is either Marcus Davis or Joe Riggs. How is that upper echelon of anything? How tha fuck was this guy up for a title shot?

or Saunders by my previous theory.

nate

Is a small LW moving up to WW after multiple losses in a row. He is NOT a prestigious win for Swick by any means! Though it would come easy!

Swick, Thiago (both of them), fitch, kos, saunders, davis, hardy, semtex, johnson, hughes, serra, hell even trigg would handidly give nate a good arse whoopin!

WW is where he belongs

He should do alot better at WW and assuming he doesnt continue to be an idiot he should bulk up nicely and start to dominate at WW if he plans on dropping back down to LW then he will continue to lose to people he is better then.

Anyone else notice

That the Diaz bros. have the grumpiest faces in MMA.

What really confuses me

Is that you use another “c” in the same word,

True indeed. Nate vs dustin would be a nice, justified, even matchup for both.
