It doesn’t half piss me off when people ruin threads with absolute rubbish, I try to ignore them and usually report them if what they’ve said is out of hand but sometimes I just end up giving up on the thread altogether. Great post Ulf, hopefully we get more new Maniacs like yourself and less illiterate and immature losers.

So basically what you said was.

1. I cant refer to myself as the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Grappler ever to not step foot in the UFC?
2. I cant say Judo blows and I can eat Judo Guys for breakfast ala Bisping when he eats blackbelts for breakfast?
3. I cant mention that Shinya Aoki will join the UFC and submit BJ Penn via RNC? And stand behind it?
4. And I cnt uz slanguistics to xpress how F’n ahsome cage fiting iz?
5. and Finally I cant say I am a highly touted promoter that just sits on the message boards to scout new talent and see what everyone wants to see and make those fights?

Got kids ready for school, had breakfast, dropped the kids to school and came back home to do a few things before I popped out for awhile. I thought to myself I’ll log in to see what the crack is with the Maniacs and if there was any scandal in the world of MMA. Last night I had to log out just because I could not take one more single Pointless irrelevant post or thread, hoping this morning would be different I continued to log in and to my delight there was a few new articles and I thought ‘Nice, I’ll check out the JDS v GG vid’ and read the comments. Low and behold my joy soon turned to horror when I was greeted with another half dozen FUCKTARDED posts. Suddenly my tolerance level has diminished and I just want to hop the laptop off the wall. I will now log out again thanks to these new bunch of stupid cunts who seem to to think they are ‘cool’ when obviously they are seriously mentally challenged and don’t seem to know when to stop or cop on.

Although I have to disagree with #4. I don’t think this site should be anything like “writing for a raise”. Sure, I’d like to see proper grammar skills, but I also don’t want to see the grammar police pop up every 5 minutes. Whats important is the message thats getting across, not the spelling. Some people aren’t fluent in English, but are big mma fans – I’d like to hear from them too. In terms of being intelligent in general, it’s not a choice for most ppl. Good post tho.

Most of the people you would like to have read this will not, and if they did they would not care. Seems you got baited and want to find a solution, but Mania is correct, if you don’t like a comment and don’t recognize the poster, just ignore it dude.

and is a large reason why i dont reply very much, because it sure isnt because i am supposed to be working. I read most every post on mania because i like to stay updated on my favorite sport, but i rarely find it necessary to reply: either because what i would say has already been said and dont want to be seen as riding someone’s coattails; or because i dont know enough about the subject to offer an intelligent response.

I have seen what happens to people who spout off a reply without thinking it through, then get torn apart, it isnt pretty. And i have enough forum experience that its no longer cool to me to have a huge post count. But this is to be expected on a forum. Some guys just have to retort no matter what, others will let it go unless theyre having a bad day. The nice thing about this site is that for the most part it stays respectful and the veterans of mania try and keep it relevant and not make it personal.

That the exposure of this site would increase and with that the community of people posting on here would too. The downside is that the uniqueness of the community is getting diluted with people whom never knew about UFCMania or MMAMania before the move.

Got to say this place just went tits up in the space of a week. At least the post and news haven’t gotten worse

1. Be Humble. Nobody cares if you are the greatest (insert whatever you think you are the best at here). This is the internet, unless you have YouTube to back you up, we will think you are full of shit and ignore you.

2. Be Respectful. Many of the maniacs are living their dream of becoming MMA fighters, or just respect combat sports enough to participate on a regular basis. Saying boxing, wrestling, judo, etc. sucks when you can’t do it is just ignorant. All of the combat arts have a respectful place at the table that is MMA. Some just sit closer to the head than others.

3. Be Honest. If you say something stupid, and all of us do, man up, and eat that crow. You will feel better about that than being labeled a moron.

4. Be Intelligent. Write like you want a raise from your Company. Use spellcheck. Preview and re-read your post. When you goof, refer to #3.

And last but not least….

5. Be YOU. Don’t be some made up internet persona that you think will impress people. We are mostly all completely anonymous for one reaon or the other. That is cool with everyone here. Since we are anonymous, no one can tell if you are worth millions of dollars or some fat, unemployed slob that eats Cheetos all day long while on Mania. It doesn’t matter here. The best conversations/debates come from intelligent fans that like to discuss their opinion with other intelligent fans. Sometimes you win those debates, sometimes you lose. It shouldn’t change who you are.
