Calling all TUF guys:

Spike TV and UFC recently announced an open casting call for the next installment of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) franchise at the The Omni Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, NC, on Thursday, April 1.

The tryouts will coincide with the UFC Fight Night 21 event held on Wednesday (March 31).

Lightweight (155 pounds) and light heavyweight (205 pounds) hopefuls should arrive at the location between 8 and 9 a.m. ET. Registration will take place as soon as the doors open and tryouts are set to begin at 10 a.m. ET.

UFC President Dana White is expected to oversee the tryouts with Spike TV’s senior vice president of sports and specials, Brian Diamond. No debut or possible coaching candidates for Season 12 are known at this time.

Applicants must be over the age of 21 and have a professional fight record with a minimum of three fights. Dress code would be that of a normal sparring session and candidates are expected to bring the appropriate gear and equipment.

i want to know if any maniacs plan on trying out?

Good luck to anyone who is going to try out,. Evertime i watch american idol auditions and they show the thousands of peoples in the stands I cant help but to dream that is what the auditions will be like for the Ultimate fighter someday. lol Yes i know it wont even come close to that, but a man can dream cant i? How many others have also thought of this?

It's right down the road from me!

I would try out , but not my weight…………..oh and I don’t have any pro fights………oh and I had back surgery………oh yea, also broke my face! lol I used to be a fan of Tito’s. Will be again if he stopped his whining and excuses! The first three are true, don’t have a broken face though. I just started to sound a bit like him so I had to throw that in there. I wonder if they let people watch. I doubt it

man im so jealous of the USA residents for this reason

I just can’t afford the time off, plus the trip, for a whim. Its awful, I wish I was able to be less responsible with my finances and budget, but I just can’t afford to be. I’m at a fantastic 172 right now, and I’ve weighed 158 naturally in the last 2 1/2 years. I can and have made the weight cut. That and this shit is on my birthday! What a bday present that would be.

Really a lil depressing when I read these to be honest. I very much hope I can at least try one of these auditions in the next couple years. That’s why I get so defensive when posters talk about cancelling TUF or using an all ‘comeback fighters’ cast. Its hard enough to find the time to get to these. I’d feel awful for the ppl who can make the trip and train hard only to not even be granted the opportunity due to a small town or them cancelling these tryouts or using fighters that have already had their chance.
Sorry for the long post.

Regina, Saskatchewan Canada

It’d definitely a doable trip, just not at this time with taxes etc coming up and being self employed its a mess. Just wish I could get an extra 10k on me so I could take some of ‘the dream’ gambles. Lol oh well, hopefully my situation will be different the next season or 2 if they are looking for LW/WW. I’d rather try and fail, then never try and wonder.

i do want a 50/50 comebacks and unknows season,

1 teak of vets getting a second shot vs a full team of unknowns…. sounds like good tv to me…

Bow I refuse to answer in triplicate

your just gonna have to fuggin deal with it !

You should go down there, worst they could do is say no. Tell them your checking out MMA for Ontario and that your kind of a big deal.

“Well then… walk right in sir”

I want Ricardo Arona to sign with the UFC and his first fight should be James Toney. This is a win win scenario for MMA

You're right BZ!

Chances are I have nothing going on anyway, being that there is shit to do in the south!!! That sounds like a good idea and I will try that! Any tips? Like maybe a big news paper in your area??

Has there always been a age requirement

Not sure but i thought a couple of guys in the past were under 21? And i wonder if there is an age limit? Im sure they dont want anyone who is over 40. I dont see the point they are trying to breed new talent, I wonder how old bobby was when he tried for the second time, i cant remember his last name., He was in the very first ultimate fighter.Southmore or someting?

haven't heard from bobby in a while...he lost that fight to Babz from a cut then disapperared...i wonder if he's still at AKA and why he isn't fighting?

Fedor invented a language that incorporates Sambo and Kimuras.

So next time FEDOR is kicking your ass, don't be offended or hurt, he may be just trying to tell you he likes your hat.
