God damn right - fn Wand and Nog
This is the best UFC card in a long while. Man i can’t wait until Nog’s entrance when he’s praying as always when he walks. His fights are the only ones that make my hands literally shake from excitment. He seems very excited about this matchup too, and big/hard fights are the only ones he can get up for it seems like these days.

was thinking the samething…great card..its been too long, Cain beats Nog and Bisping ko’s Wandy..I’m a life time Wandy fan but his last great moment was the Jardine fight

Sorry to burst ur bubble, but nog takes all three rounds in this one for unimious decison. CAIN VELEASQUEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#1 piggy
That made no sense.
I’ve never to this day seen a fight where 1 fighter takes all 3 rounds and the guy who lost all 3 wins?
You have shown in the last few threads you have a very interesting take on the sport.

Lesnar wouldn’t kill Nog anywhere, where has he the better mma skills? wrestling? yeah that’s whatever cause when it gets to the ground it’s all Nog and standing it’s all Nog.
If they do not set Nog up for a title shot with a win here somethings wrong and it would show that they’re afraid of Lesnar losing. It’s really BS that they are gonna waste their time in having Carwin or Mir fight for the title.
Matteo Serra is the mayn! Forza Italia.
Lesnar's power will negate Nog's skill.
And also, since judges in the UFC don’t know jack shit about scoring in MMA, they’ll give the decision victory to Cain. Sorry Johnny boy…

ok i totally agree with your whole post, but to say Lesnar would kill nog is just a little too over the top for me to handle.
Matteo Serra is the mayn! Forza Italia.
randys boxing hurt lesnar in the 1st and then lesnar took him down. nog’s boxing is underrated and could also trouble lesnar and when he takes him down nog is more dangerous off his back.
by irishlilpete on Feb 10, 2010 9:00 AM EST up reply actions
this "Lesnar got hurt"
That I keep hearing is b.s.! Neither Couture nor Mir “hurt” Brock. I by know means think he is invincible but mir’s knee and Lesnar getting cut by Randy weren’t devastating shots and in both instances the fights were ended moments later.
-This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

what he did show against Randy though was his lack of technique standing and how uncomfortable and slow he looked.
Matteo Serra is the mayn! Forza Italia.
Slow?
There are many things you can accuse him of, slow is not one of them.
I won the signed Matt Serra Tee!!!! whoop whoop

It is, he looked extremely slow and robotic standing in that fight against Randy, maybe it was him doubting in his standup techniques and trying to stay calm but he was however very slow.
You won’t see him move like Dos Santos and throw as fast and heavy leather anytime soon.
Matteo Serra is the mayn! Forza Italia.
He punched HH into a backward roll
Brock hits as hard as anybody, for the record I would just like to say that I can’t believe that I’m defending him… but what ever.
I agree that Dos Santos is a better boxer, but like I said below, that doesn’t necessarily matter with Brock.

yes, he does hit hard but if or when he learns to throw more properly his punches will be way more effective and even harder.
It would matter as long as the fight stays standing and that’s why it would be so fun to watch.
Matteo Serra is the mayn! Forza Italia.
Roberto thinks Tito has excellent stand up skills
Probably not the guy to ask about stand up.

hahah, hilarious.
I wonder where you’ve seen me write that even once because it hasn’t happened.

What's hilarious is your posts about Tito. EVERYBODY knows this. :)

agreed SFK, Lesnar is a bullet train
I hate him, HATE him, but he isn’t slow. And I think Nog is by far the best HW in the UFC, but I still give Lesnar good odds of beating him because of his power and top game. He talks like a moron, but he doesn’t fight like one, he’s shown great caution and restraint in his last 3 fights and will not give up an easy sub like he did in his debut. Nog could still pull one off, but there’s a very good chance that Lesnar will pound his head to hamburger before that happens. Of course, Nog can still submit guys after he’s been pounded into hamburger, so the only question is, “who’s the ref and how much faith does he have in Nog’s amazing resilience and how long will he give him to turn the fight around.?” If Steve Mazagatti is reffing, I’d say Lesnar is the safer bet. 50 lbs of muscle is a lot to give up in a grappling match with a National champion.
Nice comparison... BUT
…Brock doesn’t win fights because he is better than people at boxing or BJJ or more well rounded, he wins fights because he has the size and strength of a rhino and the speed and agility of a cheetah. The achilles heel of large fighters has more often than not been cardio, Brock however, sets a relentless pace. He is quite simply a freak of nature.
The “skills” and “techniques” he employs just simply would not work if he didn’t usually have such a huge size and strength advantage or if his cardio was suspect. But because he is such a freak, most skills and techniques go out the window and simply aren’t enough to keep up with his athleticism.

honestly, I don’t like him, but I’d pick him to win over the vast majority.

Winners
Wandy, Nogueira, Jardine and Sotiropolous- the winners.
I think the Axe murder’s fight will not go the distance even though Bisping is training with Rampage.
Nogueira has a tuff match, but always come through.
Jardine I am hoping will throw off Bader, but this one will be close.
by MMA-Supplements on Feb 9, 2010 11:50 PM EST reply actions
Bader's wrestling is too good for Jardine. It won't be like when Vera took him down and he just got up.
Bader swings hammers whether standing or ground and pounding while Jardine has a nasty habit of dropping his right when going in for that fakeout punch-leg kick. Being unorthodox has a specific meaning in terms of striking and what jardine does is the exact opposite of unorthodox- it’s just shitty and filled with technical holes. Bader lamps him at the end of the 1st.

What time will these fights be LIVE (in N. America)?
Will BBC UK be airing them live?
I hope jetlag doesn’t screw up any of the fighters!!!
Worrying about the same thing...
What time will they show it here in SE Asia? Well, maybe I should do some googling, or watch a lot of Balls[the cable channel here that airs all UFC fights for free!]

You’re in Asia? Holy shit, wonder if any the other posters are. I haven’t seen any yet.
Don’t these cards air around 3PM eastern then replay at 10PM eastern in Canada/Usa?

maybe we will get lucky and dana will get mauled by a kangaroo in some freak accident down there…then we can all go a week or so without seeing his face!
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
If you want to avoid seeing Dana’s face, dont watch Zuffa programing. Forget the Kangaroos, use your remote.
Going to church doesnt make you any more Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car.
then I would miss the fights..I like everything about the ufc... except Dana...and sometimes some judging decisions

The winner or Bisping v Wandy fights Akiyama in Japan. possible the loser fights Marquardt.

My picks
Big Nog – TKO/sub/dec – he will find a way to win this
Wandy – KO
Cro Cop – TKO (was leaning towards Big Ben UD, but his wrestling isnt that good. He will stand and get KO/TKO’ed)
Bader : UD. Boooring
*Joe vs Goerge: Too close to call imo. I wont bet on this fight!
And Reljic knocks that ugly lip dude (name not needed) the fuck out!

apart from the UD for Bader, I see a (T)KO for Bader, He hits HARD!!!

great card.
I agree with wandy, CC, Nog, Bader.
But I may throw down coin on Ben, Bisping, Dean, cause I can see Michael taking a close decision (he’ll probs be ko’d I’m just saying), Ben upsetting CC since he’s looking mediocre, and Jardine depending on the spread as I’m still expecting Keith to be the favorite so ill take Bader if that happens.

Maybe...
SFK. Maybe he’ll GnP for the TKO, but he doesnt look comfortable standing (yet) and he wont risk it against an akward striker like Jardine. A few legkicks and I predict that he’ll be setting up for the takedowns early and often.
Worby: Bader as underdog is a good bet i think. But whats the oddds on Bisping vs Wandy? He can run, but he cant hide! :) and i dont see Wandy breaking down mentally or gassing the way Kang did.
Btw. Any recommendation on a good internet-site for MMA-betting? Im from Sweden and none of my accounts have any betting-lines on MMA.

what site
There’s a few guys on here that would be better at knowing what site to use for bets then me. I know of Betus.com but I know there’s probs better and I’m not sure if Sweden makes these things any easier or harder.

no probs, thanks anyway
i signed up on betus and bodog. Got big money on Nog and Wandy. War Brazil lol
Btw. Jardine is big underdog against Bader… hmmm… dont think its worth betting on Bader with those odds.
Sweden has no type of regulations against online-gamling.
