Get back in there Matt
Would be nice if you didn’t take 6-8 months in between fights; get after it!

On a side note..
Serra was completely shredded for this fight; that’s the best shape I’ve seen him in at 170.

True that.
Wouldn’t mind seeing him throw hands with Baroni, although at this stage that would be a step down.
But I don’t see him making another run at the belt, so I don’t suppose that would matter.
Arlovski : Kang : GSP : Rampage : Lytle : Huerta : Quarry : Serra
if he wins his next fight
i would like to see serra vs nate diaz, i just see that as being a good fight, i think i would actualy give diaz the advantage with his reach and boxing, but we all know what serra can do, so really it could go any way.
So what's the deal with Serra's record?
When it’s shown before his fights in the UFC it says 16-6(now 17-6) but his official record online is 10-6. So do they just boost the numbers to make it look better during UFC events or what? Just curious and always wondered that.
Anybody know?
They usually tack on amateur fights.. He had those wins in TUF 4, same with rashad.. always said he was 18-0 when he was only 13-0

I'm afraid for Matt
When it comes to guys like Anthony Johnson; Ben Saunders, these big tall bastards with all kinds of reach; he’s a favorite of mine no doubt, but 170 is no joke.

Serra is a factor
Because his record is only so-so on paper, people tend to disregard Serra as a legit contender at WW. Even though he lost to Hughes, that fight was basically a draw and I think that in the overall picture of the division, Serra is much more of a factor than Hughes because Hughes has no stand-up to speak of and Serra can at least threaten with a big strike.
Serra can absolutely challenge guys like Kos, Fitch, and now Paulo Thiago (It’s been surprising to see Swick swept out of the race in his last two fights, btw.) I don’t think Serra would fare too well against Alves, but other than him and GSP, he could beat anyone in the division on any given night if he has a great performance. And you just can’t discredit the fact that he has a win against one of the best fighters of all time in GSP.
I’d like to see him fight someone in the top 5 now. Kos would be good. Or even someone up and coming in a big way like Semtex.
