Well guys, I'm sitting here bored and figured I'd write my predictions for 109. I love the odds I got on Coleman and really give him a good shot to win. I don't play into the whole "he was hurt or he didn't deserve to win" excuses that Coleman has been getting in victory or close defeats, bottom line is he's looked good in his latest UFC stint. On the flip side, Randy's skills have diminished, his chin is weak and overall he's been less than impressive. He lost the fight to Vera IMO and got dominated by Nog and Brock. I'm 100% confident that Coleman can and will win this fight. The thing is, this fight should have happened 10 years ago! It does nothing for Coleman if he wins, and how does it move Randy into another undeserved title contention? A pretty weak main event that I'm really looking forward to.
While Sonnen is keeping his name in the news and headlines talking trash about anyone and everyone, he has no chance in this fight. Not only is Nate ready, but he's hungry, he really wants another shot at the title! The fact that the UFC has come out and said this is a #1 contenders match proves that even they don''t give Sonnen a chance! If they did, they wouldn't say this, because he doesn't deserve a strikeforce title shot, never mind a UFC title.
I would love to see Swick get dominated again, but I don't see it happening. I really need/want the AKA guys to start fighting each other so we have a clear sense on who is deserving and not deserving of a title shot, but think of this, they aren't getting offered title shots, is this coincidence? Kos has looked great and Fitch is still grinding out decisions, but they gave Hardy a shot. Maybe this is the UFC casually saying FU AKA, you guys won't give us a contenders match so we won't give you a title fight. If this is true, good for the UFC! If I were a professional fighter, I'd fight my mom for a chance at a title run, it's business! These guys have every excuse why they shouldn't/won't fight, but I got the only reason they should: A CLEAR CUT #1 CONTENDER!
The most anticipated match for me is Serra/Trigg! I always liked Triggs commentary on the old pride best of shows and am a big fan of Serra. I think Serra will win this fight and then call someone out! I think a rematch with Hughes is a must and from a fans perspective, makes sense! My big bet tonight was a Marquart/Serra parlay that pays almost 2-1. I've been making money at mma in the last few events, hope tonight is similar. I also played all favs (not couture) on main card in 3 and 4 man parlays!
