Brock could have a BAD, and I mean amateurish loss at any time and will look like he doesn’t know WTF he is doing. Just too inexperienced to be considered “blue chip”…oh but there is his WWE background. Everyone can pretend that isn’t a factor is why Brock is getting undeserved accolades but this is HARD EVIDENCE.
Brock?? Well I guess Kimbo was there second choice for the cover. They both have a 4-1 record and are here for ratings. They probably had to draw names out of a hat, but I am still a little confused on how Brock won, I am sure Kimbo had 9 out of the 10 names in the hat.
ohh I’m sorry. I guess beating Min Soo Kim, then losing to Mir. Then beating Herring (who has 14 losses) then beating Couture who didn’t fight for a year and half and was 46 years old. Then he beat Mir (who was also tko’d by ian Freeman, Marcio Cruz, Brandon Vera) is so much more impressive. Brock has been given good stylistic matchups. But then again so has Kimbo-ohh another comparison.

You lot are missing out on the bigger picture
Brock isn’t on the front because of his MMA stats he is on the front to sell games and he is the biggest draw UFC have for that because people know him outside of MMA unlike any of the other fighters

With out a doubt the most accomplished and best figther in the world with less than ten fights under his belt. He has done more in five fights than msot fighters do their entire career.

Puck Head, I fully respect you and all but you gotta stop pretending that Brock has accomplished anything. He “title” is only on paper. Wait for it….wait for it…..when Randy VACATED the title and they UFC was already promoting second fight of the interim champ as just the “HW Championship”, it means that Randy’s title was only given back to him so he could drop it to the over sized wrestler (which he has historical had trouble with). The UFC basically gave him that title. Randy is shell of his former self since the layoff and Brock hadn’t earned that “title shot”. Complete set up. Add in a worthless victory over Herring and a split with a very beatable Mir…what has Brock really accomplished? He’s not undefeated, he has never had a true “title” defense, and has 3 wins over set up fights. He hasn’t done anything that Cain, Carwin, or JDS could have done had they had previous fame and were gifted those same fights. Really, say it with a straight face. I can’t believe that you are really still thinking that Brock has done anything that a handful of fighter could also had done, if they were just a name and face from something other than fighting.
He has accomplished more than anyone in MMA history in his first five fights
He has done more in five fights than most fighters have done in their career. Yes he’s human so there is a chance he can lose a fight no doubt as any fighter can but I’m telling you his skills are for real and you will find out once again this summer. Is he a legend yet no he is not he will need to earn that but there is no denying his talents combined with his size and athletic ability. You take Cain and add 40 pounds of muscle and a more powerfull strike!! You get Brock thats the easiest way I can explain it for you Striker. There is nothing intelligent you can say that takes that away. The WWE has nothing to do with his MMA abilities Striker. His first tilte defence will be coming this summer against the winner of Mir and Carwin and you will see what most already know. At the time besides maybe Fedor and Barnett I could not see one other Heavy Weight fighter being able to do what he has done? Actually, Randy earned and won a “real” title in just five fights. However that will never happen again unless say an actor or something decides to fight and gets set ups just the same as Brock did. So Brock hasn’t accomplish more. You see, now fighters have to earn their title shots, unless they are famous (not by ring accomplishments). As far as his talent, we’ve discussed this and plenty on people have agreed with me that Brock hasn’t done ANYTHING that spectacular in the cage…certainly nothing that if the three fighters that I had mentioned had done, would anybody be saying they have accomplished greatness. And you may see this summer that he could end up on the wrong side of a trilogy with (a beatable) Mir or even worse, be exposed as only a hulk if Carwin negates his size/strength advantage.
And, Jay, sorry even though the money guys at the UFC say that Randy’s vacated title was valid for Brock to have, we are all aware that the returning champ is supposed to fight the interim champ upon return. for some reason they decided to overlook this….hmmmm…I wonder why, cause Randy has a history of losing to oversized meatheads and was ring rusted…strike while the iron is got right?. Sorry that was a travesty and Brock didn’t REALLY win a true title until Mir fumbled it to Brock at 100.

He hasn’t done anything spectacular? Winning the UFC belt is almost evey fighters dreams besides maybe one, and for him to do it in his third UFC fight is amazing. Mir fumbled it too Brock? He got pounded and controlled like never before on the ground. Brocks ability to control his opponents position on the ground is great. barnett has done this for years, maybe with a little help but regardless his ability to control his opponent on the ground is what made Barnett a great fighter and Brock already has more ability in doing this than Barnett!! Randy beat big Tim big deal right and Tim beat AA making randy better than both? But the fact is size isn’t everything
as Randy has proven against Tim. Randy asked for the match because of the draw and challenge and knowing that Brock would only get better as time goes on made sense. Only problem Brock got much better than randy expected and the scary thing is Brock has not reached his potential!! You can hate all you want but it doesn’t take away the fact Brock is the UFC champion, something almost every fighter would love to be.

That’s a good point. I think he did use a lot of wrestling in controlling HH but… Imagine what is going to happen to fighters when he does start using his (arguably) only real talent.

Like I said it’s one thing to step in the octagon something very few are able to accomplish and it’s another thing to win. The UFC has great talent level now so if Brock was to lose to good talent it would take away how high I rank him and as we all know in any sport rankings change every year but there is no doubt in my mind Brock can challenge anyone in the world and have a good chance of winning. I believe he will beat the winner of Mir and Carwin and hoping Carwin pulls it off though I’m not so sure of that but I would like to see Brock face NOG, Cain, JDS or Carwin before he faces Mir again.
All he does is use his strength and size? C’mon Striker we all know strength and size are not everything Bob Sapp, Hong Man, Sylvia and Roy are some that come to mind that Brock would destroy as well as the other top guys I mentioned above, Brock showcased his ability to control Mirs hands and positioning with his wrestling ability in his last fight, yes his strength helped as did his size but like GSP size strength and athletic ability helps him it doesn’t take away from his talents it just makes his talents that much better.

Yes MMA wrestling is different but it has been proven over and over those tha tare talented in real wrestling have success in MMA. If you really understand MMA striker you must understand that wrestling is a great base for fighters? If not that explains a lot. If so though you have to understand that his abilities are not WWE abilities they are accompished real wrestling abilities combined with power, size and ability. Infact one of brocks training partners who is a wrestler is getting into MMA and I believe will make an impact in MMA as well Cole Konrad check it out on you tube please.

I have never agrued that real wrestling is totally valid in MMA and that Brock has a great resume in that field. For the millionth time,he hasn’t displayed the ability to translate it into MMA. The only reasons I mention WWE for is that it brought the wrong crowd to MMA, got Brock to skip ahead to set up fights, and people give him more credit because he is famous. His WWE background does not help nor hurt him in the cage. FUCK…thick skull awards for you puck?
He dry humped HH for 3 boring rounds and couldn’t gain enough position to finish. He hit Randy in the back of the head and sat on him when he was stunned (weight, not wrestling ability), and Mir foolishly (by his words) tried a high knee which allowed Brock to fall on top of him and use his weight to pin him and smash him.

He was carefull against HH Striker
The fight before he got to aggressive wich is the reason he lost, he was destroying Mir but got careless and ended up being to cautious against HH. The second time against Mir he owned him the knee was coming from a beat up Mir who took a pounding before LOL. he showed on the ground his ability to control Mir and size and strength may of helped but like against Tim Sylvia Mir has shown and proved size and strength are not everything. Fact is Striker Brock is talented like it or not his size and strength just add to his skills but like any MMA fighter there is a chance of losing anytime you step in the octagon the fact that Brock not only stepped into the octagon and claimed the unified the belt over NOG, Randy and Mir make it one of todays greatest accomplishments in MMA. He hasn’t run through the division the way Anderson, GSP, Penn (almost), and to some degree Machida have. He has only beaten 3 guys…. and they were set up fights. HH, like I said LOL, Randy; old, small, ring rusted, and Mir; only reason Mir was there again is because Nog was hospitalized 8 days before their fight. So the two fights he did win were over Randy now, and and undeserving Mir…whoppy fucking doo. No great accomplishment there. Keep repeating it, maybe even you will start to really believe it, fan boy.

similar to the WEC on Versus with the UFC events being SPIKE, but all under the same Zuffa banner. Their roster got too big after the acquisition of WCW, so they had to split up into 2 shows.
