Former light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell talks about how easy it is to get motivated to fight when you're working alongside Tito Ortiz.. The UFC Hall of Famer will be coaching against "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 11, which is scheduled to debut on Spike TV in April. Shortly thereafter, Liddell and Ortiz will hook 'em up for a third time. After that, "Iceman" wants another two fights -- including a title shot. Unfortunately the top two contenders right now, Mauricio Rua and Rashad Evans, have already defeated him convincingly. Considering how much is riding on his next fight -- is he overlooking Ortiz in his quest to capture some of that old glory?

the 2nd rd of the 2nd fight was half way competitive but he still got dropped at the end of the first; he just doesn’t have the tools to beat Chuck.

I can ignore the “Randy isn’t shit, he only won 5 titles and people start MMA at the age of 32 and win 5 belts in 2 weight class’s every day of the week so he ain’t shit” garbage; but Chuck never got a title shot he didn’t deserve. And the only reason anyone says this crap is cause of his fight with Tim Sylvia; yea he came in off a loss to Chuck to fight for the HW belt but they needed a contender. Other than that one fight which other title shot did he not earn? And please don’t bring up his first fight with Liddell; cause back then they weren’t favouring Couture and giving him a title shot to see him win; they were bringing him in to legitimize Chuck and the UFC wanted Couture to lose.

I usually agree with you Mac… but you are way off base this time. Chuck dominated Tito. He has an excuse after every fight, bottom line. Tito got his ass kicked thru and thru. Chuck never dodged anyone and always came to fight. I still want to know where the favoritism that you mentioned is. I just cant seem to find it. There is no way Tito is going to beat Chuck. It will be another big KO/TKO

Chuck never got his undeserved title shot because he kept on losing every time they had a masterplan for him. They tried and tried and tried to give him the “easiest” opponents, Jardine, Rashad whom Tito beat and so on.
I hate the whole story of how they sold Tito down the river, so any Tito fan should dislike Chuck to some degree for what he and Dana really did back in the day.

he went on a 7 fight winning streak!!! then he got knocked out by Rampage and Shogun and Rashad, who are all top level guys with powerful hands. There aren’t many out there that can take a Sunday best punch from one of those guys and not drop. and yes, he lost a decision to Jardine, but he’s a tricky guy. I think Chuck needs to change a few things, start using his wrestling more offensively and perhaps change his stance a little. and lets not forget that during this time period he dominated Wandy in a way that not many have.
To say he’s done and has no chin anymore just because he got knocked out by three top ten guys, all of whom have powerful hands is a stupid thing to say IMO.

That 5 of their last 6 fights have been against former pride and UFC champs. And the only dude he fought that wasn’t a champ got destroyed in seconds which earned him knock out of the night. and that 2 of his 4 UFC fights have been called as fight of the night. In his last few fights he’s looked really slow, hesitant, and his chin has been awful. The time off has probably made him even worse. With that said, Tito has always looked terrible, so this fight should be close.
Honestly, there are probably thousands of guys out there that could beat these two and we’re talking about title shots, haha.

Tito may not be as dominant as he used to be but to say that hes always looked terrible is going too far.

it’ll be a shit fight they’ll both fight the same way they’ve always fought, & that’s why Chucks pretty much done because he’s so predictable & that’s why all the top contenders would KO him. he’ll say he’s been working on new stuff but we all know he’ll fight the same fight he’s always fought trying to land a big punch while he’s backing away
I don't think either of these guys are elite anymore but they still are exciting fighters
As long as there is another entertaining bout on the card I will have no issues watching this one. But one thing that does piss me off is the TUF coaches use to be contenders and neither of these guys deserve to be?

I think they should have younger coaches. That way they can hype their younger less known fighters a little exposure. We’ve already seen both of em as coaches.

I disagree
I think the older more experienced and accomplished fighters serve as better coaches hands down.
Let the younger fighters get exposure by fighting more and not by being tied up by the TUF series.

I’m not sayin put Bones in there but someone like Kenny Florian or Brandon Vera. They are still gonna bring in high quality trainers with em anyway.

I think Rampage and Shogun would be to much for Chuck. I would like to see him rematch Jardine or fight with Forrest Griffen,Rich Franklin, or maybe even Vera. I think he should fight at least 2 or 3 more fights after he kills Tito. if he wins them all then give him a title shot so he can loose then retire.

I don’t think he even had Tito KO’ed. However, I think Rashad KO’ed him…yep now that is a KNOCKOUT.
Greasy St.Pierre is a cheater.
To be honest...
Anderson is ahead of Rashad in the 205 division and could get a shot at the winner of Shogun/Machida if he wanted to.
