UFC Quick Quote: Brock Lesnar is hoping Frank Mir beats Shane Carwin so he can shut him up once and for all
"You know I don't know what he [Frank Mir] thought... he's still trying to pull his foot out of his mouth and when you say something like that and your wife has to go out and apologize for you, you know you pissed somebody off. I think his wife made the apology before he did probably... But you know in this sport of fighting. Fighting has come so far in such a short amount of time. We want to perceive ourselves as athletes and get the respect of the general public. Yeah it was out of line but in the fighters mentally I don't want to go in the Octagon and kill somebody but I do want to do whatever I can to win. And maybe that's what he was saying, I don't know... But the guy should probably just focus on the task in front of him, which is Shane Carwin because if Shane Carwin beats his ass he won't be fighting me.... Hopefully he gets past Shane Carwin so I can put another beat down on him. For a guy to take an ass whopping like the last I gave him and for him to get up and keep running his mouth. You know I just got to laugh at it... But I am truly hoping that Frank wins this fight so it sets us up for July and maybe the next beat down will shut him up."
-- UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar talks to KFAN Sports Radio 1130 (via BloodyElbow.com) about his nemesis Frank Mir and the potential for a trilogy fight with the only man to ever beat him in the UFC. Obviously Brock isn't too offended by what Mir had to say and is taking this whole situation rather calmly... for him at least. But aside from having a rooting interest in UFC 111, isn't it a bit ironic that Lesnar condemned Mir for not presenting himself as a respectful athlete after his now infamous meltdown at UFC 100? And is he hoping Mir gets by Carwin in March because he really wants to take it to Frank one last time, or does he view Shane Carwin as a greater challenge to his crown?

p dub will like this thread..there should be 100 + comments in no time..lol
brock has the right attitude..mir is a tool..but like he said he has the task at hand..i would laugh sooo hard if he has to fight carwin instead..mir would look even sillier..
That’s exactly what I said earlier! Even though a third Brock-Mir fight isn’t all that compelling, I still wanted Brock to whip Mir’s yet again and put an end to this silliness. I think Brock is secretly reading my posts here even though he hasn’t accepted my Facebook friend request. :(
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
I do to, I just cannot ever cheer for Mir...
Unless it is against Cain. I realize he is good but I would cheer for Jose Consaco and Timaaaay over Cain haha.

Man I hate Carwin and Murr
I wish they could both lose. But as the lesser of two evils, I’ll root for Carwin. I’ll never churrrr for Murrrr
That guy doesn't have to face JDS, Mir, Brock or Carwin
Cain has a tougher road but no doubt he has the ability.

brock was
Actually somewhat professional. Was expecting an off the wall freak out from him. A 3rd fight is pointless, but hell ill watch Frank get dismembered again!

Not a Brock fan but
I agree with this comment. Mir-Brock III might be a little interesting after all.

Mir YOUR Dead
I hope Mir slips by Carwin so Lesnar can insert his lunchboxes into Mirs big mouth
i still like mir but,
Mir’s gonna walk through carwin in the 1st round. and then get his neck broken and be the first mma death against brock.

Y the hell wud U guys want 2 see brock vs. Mir III?!
When they have Cain , carwin , dos Santos . Duznt make sense 2 me that people rather see Brock fight the same person 3 times in 5 fights, then any1 of the young guns.

With you too d*locc
I would want to see Lesnar fight any of the other top UFC HWs before Mir III. We all know the outcome, even fans of Mir, so why see that pointless fight when there’s Velasquez, JDS, and possibly Carwin if he beats Mir? Put a stop to the madness, Mir shouldn’t be able to pick his opponent just because he has a man crush on Lesnar. War Carwin, as I don’t want to see Lesnar Mir III.
I think cains win over Big nog & jds wins over crocop & yvel
R more legit 2 be a #1 contender than carwins lucky win over gabe gonzaga cuz he was geting his ass kicked the whole fight b4 he landed that 1 punch! The interim title is dumb & makes no sense since the champ is back!

With you again,Locc.
Carwin won’t beat Mir. We are getting stuck with Mir/Lesnar for sure. It doesn’t answer any questions about Brock at all. We know what he looks like against Mir. Get some new blood for the Brockness to feed off.
JasonFahQ is a troll.
I wouldn't under estimate Carwin just yet
Frank Mir can’t take a punch very well and that is no problem for Carwin….Frank fancies himself a striker now but out striking Nog and Congo is not saying a whole bunch. Also when the fight hits the ground, give me the wrestler over the Jits guy anyday especially one like Carwin who has power not unlike Brock.
always borrow money from a pessimist, they won't expect it back anyway!

Yep Carwin is slower than Brock but he has maybe the most powerfull punch in the HW division
Regardless of who he has fought nobody made it past the first round with him.

it does not matter what we want to see. it's what the ufc (zuffa) think can get the most ppv's.
mir will beat carwin quickly. we will hear how over-rated carwin was. then on july 4th in las vegas (many tourists and mma fans) that is when the fight takes place(lesnar vs mir). bank on it. also have cain velasquez fight jds on the undercard and the winner of those two fights face off. then everbody wins and we get to see who is the real ufc heavyweight champion. they might be able to break 2 million ppv’s if they add another quality matchup.
I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. I was building a house, I don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. Bang. "Unforgiven" I drink your milkshake. I drink it up! "There Will BE Blood"

i think this past yr really humbled brock. only time will tell i suppose. but facing a life threatening/ career ending illnesses does give one a new perspective. i’m hoping he shows that from here on in.
on the flipside, he does have a temper! and mir is doing all he can to set up that rematch grudge match. what makes the 3rd fight interesting is that mir keeps trying to change his training, so it’s not the same guy each time. plus running his mouth keeps you wondering if he can pull it off. this time, will he be big enough and or strong enough to fill the gaps from the 2nd fight? will brock have some new tricks? it is interesting….
of course, so are all the other heavyweight prospects

GOOD COMMENT BY LESNER
i think mir would be doomed in another fight. brock is just too physical for him to handle. the sad thing is that i think he will get by carwin( who has no business being in the posistion he is in, imho)gonzaga is the oly name opponent he has beat.
gonzaga got his ass whooped( see straight up handled) by randy, so i don’t even consider gonzaga to be a good HW. he hasn’t beaten anyone(yes, cro cop is a nobody in the ufc) and gonzaga almost knocked carwin out in their fight. carwin is waay overrated!!! cain and mir should be fighting for the chance to fight brock and carwin and jds should be fighting to see who is the next big thing.
i said this earlier and i will say it again. big nog is just a gatekeeper.

I think this was Brock’s attempt at being a Company man and reminding fans that Mir and Carwin are fighting at 111. If 111 brings in more casual fans, and the card has the chance to be the biggest since 100, Brock just makes more money when he finally does come back to fight one of these guys.
I’m suprised I keep hearing how big Lesnar is, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about the fact that Carwin in also 275+ when he enters the octagon. I’m not a huge fan of either Mir or Carwin, but don’t be shocked when Carwin manhandles Mir like Lesnar did.
I can't wait for the Mir Carwin fight to happen
I think it will be a great fight and Brock will be right if Mir is looking past Carwin he could very well lose. Carwin is a dangerous opponent for anybody not only because of his size and striking power but to train against period, because know one really knows if the man has a weakness besides maybe bad head movement.

to hell with mir
i still want to see lesnar / carwin then velasquez getting the winner.
mir needs to fight a jds or a duffee or anybody else besides lesnar for awhile.
maybe on down the road if mir can go on a tear, then lesnar for the last time.
war lesnar!
Rather see him fight Carwin like he was supposed to
Cycle off this time.
Who would be interested in seeing Mir Brock III
… as opposed to seeing Brock have more diversity.
I don’t even count Randy as a win for Brock. The weight difference was ridiculous.
I want to see a monster fight another similarly sized monster.
Brock vs. Carwin, Velesquez, and Dos Santos...
… that’s what I want to see happen…
Is Brock
now the voice of reason in the UFC? Have we entered The Twilight Zone? Seriously, Brock has the right perspective on this one and I didn’t really expect it at all. I don’t like his personality, but he’s a hell of a machine in the ring, and Mir really does just need to shut the hell up and try not to block so many punches with his face against the guy he’s actually matched up against, Shane Carwin.
Hadoken!!
I DONT see Any RespEctable MMA Fan Being a Brock Fan
He clearly Hates the Sport, and Respects No One in It. He says it over and over.
And morons eat it up.
just get over it
brock lesnar owns fedor's soul

Interesting observation:
And is he hoping Mir gets by Carwin in March because he really wants to take it to Frank one last time, or does he view Shane Carwin as a greater challenge to his crown?
I am sure Carwin can beat Lesnar with a big hand down.
"Once Flamengo, Flamengo until die"
well, i don't think brock is trying to avoid carwin
but based on prior performance he’s gotta feel extra confident about facing mir again.
It doesn't matter who wins
They both are doomed. And OM20 stop being a WWF fan please LOL.
