There will be blood: Stephan Bonnar clings to Krzysztof Soszynski shortly after being busted open with an inadvertent head butt, which eventually cost him the match. Should the result -- the third straight loss for "The American Psycho" -- somehow be contested or does Soszynski deserve the win?

Judges scorecards after two rounds would have Krystof “The Vowel” Sysynski taking a 2-0 decision. It just shouldn’t have been a TKO. Soysinksi deserved the win though.

what happened to the instant replay

should’ve went to the judges early or been declared no-contest due to a headbut

Fedor invented a language that incorporates Sambo and Kimuras.

So next time FEDOR is kicking your ass, don't be offended or hurt, he may be just trying to tell you he likes your hat.

Great point

The UFC had their OWN judges and refs in there for overseas event. That is a really good question….why didnt they???

by fightfan on Feb 21, 2010 11:30 AM EST up reply actions

the UFC has their own judges and refs?

Tito interviewing Babalu: "I want to tell me what you see, let's go ahead and see by the fight, what you saw, in the ring."

Tito interviewing Fedor: "Let me tell you how you feeling right now?"

by Two_Words on Feb 21, 2010 11:43 AM EST up reply actions

Anywhere their is NOT a fight commission

like in the UK, for example. It was fact that the UFC had to bring over their own judges and refs to score the fights because there is NOt a commission. The UFC does there own drug testing, etc, etc. The same thigns as comssions would do

pw, it doesn’t matter that krys had the 1st two rounds in the bag.. there was still time left.. if the cut was a result of a punch, kick, elbow or knee, then for sure krys should get the win..

but that was an unintentional head collision that definitely deserved to be a n/c..

It’s not fair to shysynshiski to completely discount two rounds of ass-kicking that he put on Bonnar, either. I think if the fight is more than halfway through its scheduled time you have to go to the judges in situations like these. And the incidents have to be accidental, to keep a cheap-ass bastard from winning the first round by LnP, then riding out half the second round and punting the other guy in the sack to end things.

Who decides what’s accidental though. I’m not questioning your reasoning, I really want to know who you think should be in charge of that. Some guys could be really sly and make it look accidental don’t you think?

I think K Sos won BOTH rounds 1 and 2

So I dont really see why everyone is getting bent out of shape and why I’m seeing Bonnar “robbed” by headbutt, or K sos wins via headbutt.

K Sos was clearly landed more power shots and did mroe damage in both rd 1 & 2. Sure bonnar did better than previously, but was NOT more than what K Sos did.

If it were to go to a decision like NC’s should, Bonnar would of lost 20-18 IMO

by fightfan on Feb 21, 2010 11:29 AM EST reply actions

I thought it was funny as hell

that krystof kept asking bonnar if he wanted to tap glove after he bull rushes him in the first that was funny as hell

by menace on Feb 21, 2010 11:31 AM EST reply actions

NC

I think it should be no contest. when fedor and nog had their fight and not cut fedor with a headbutt it was ruled a NC even though Nog was winning

This is Bonner’s 3rd straight loss and I dont think Dana’s gonna release him anytime soon.

dana has said before that he will never cut bonnar, or forrest for that matter..

he considers them to be his sons.. they will be ufc 4life says dana.

I've heard that too

but these losses must be fuckin with Bonnars head

Then it’s time to make him an announcer or something.

Commentator I mean.

He should be a commentator for something like lawn bowling

He is as slow as that activity so that would be perfect for his cheesey lines. I’m not sure why, but I’m disliking him more and more. In fact, I feel the same way about Forrest as well…..

They both want a rematch anyway

It should be a no contest as you can’t win fights with headbutts, though these results never seem to be changed e.g. Rumble-Burns I. The instant replay is only done by the NSAC anyway.

"Not a lot of professional sports down here (in Australia)"
"We just had our best season (of TUF) last season and it was season 10"
"Nogueira is probabaly the best HW of all time"

Dana White, proving that he's clueless about Australian sports, has never heard of Fedor and is still trying to hype up TUF 10.

overturned ruling will never happen regardless of the replay..

the commisions dont reverse decisions because of the gambling side of mma.. to reverse the call would change the books..

Yes, but they should have looked at the replay before making an official decision as was the case in Jones/Hamill.

As far as I know the instant replay is only done by the NSAC, so it wasn't an option for an Australian card

Was there even a commission involved? If not, what would stop them from looking at the replay before making a decision?

by prokstar on Feb 21, 2010 10:23 PM EST up reply actions

regardless if krzysztof was winning the first two rounds or not he did an illegal move and shouldnt get the win. accidental or not. if its illegal its illegal…people get dq’d for illegal moves so why should he get rewarded for one?i think that it should just be a no contest and have them fight another time in the future and than watch krzystof beat the shit out of him again lol

by hehehe hahaha on Feb 21, 2010 3:40 PM EST reply actions

Was a bitch move to rush Bonnar at the start...

when he had his hand in the air, and then ask him to do it again for the next two rounds – you can see how that fucked Bonnar up right from the start – If I was him the rematch (if it happens) would start with a front kick to the teeth.

Sozynkski seemed decent about the fight afterwards at least.

by Jimrod on Feb 21, 2010 3:45 PM EST reply actions

yea i didnt see this fight. just read about what happend. im not really big on bonnar or krzsztof. could really care less about both. just figured id give my two cents on the outcome of the fight and just to see it again.i really think bonnar is like jardine. just past his time in the big leagues. needs to go back to fighting lower level guys

by hehehe hahaha on Feb 21, 2010 3:48 PM EST reply actions

I think the proper ruling here would have been a technical draw

I'm always thinking one step ahead. Like a carpenter . . . who makes stairs.

by supernova224 on Feb 21, 2010 3:58 PM EST reply actions

Was there a regulatory body?

If Bonnar were to appeal, who would he appeal to? Was there an athletic commission that oversaw last night’s show?

and……..

I was under the impression that if a fight makes it to the third round and is stopped because of an unintentional foul it’s supposed to go to the judges score cards (see Cerrone vs. Varner as an example)

by SHORT_BUS on Feb 21, 2010 5:07 PM EST reply actions

short bus

i believe that rule with cerrone and varner was only for a title fight situation. i may be wrong but i thought i heard that was the ruleing on it
