UFC Quick Quote: Frank Mir wants to kill Brock Lesnar inside the Octagon
"I want to fight Brock Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies to Octagon-related injuries."
-- Former heavyweight champion Frank Mir tells WXDX radio (via FightOpinion.com) about how he would like his trilogy match with current division kingpin, Brock Lesnar, to end if and when it does take place. Mir stopped Lesnar with a knee bar in their first encounter and then lost via second round technical knockout in the rematch. Lesnar is still recovering from a serious intestinal medical condition, which will keep him on the sidelines until summer 2010. Meanwhile, Mir will battle Shane Carwin for the interim heavyweight title at UFC 111 in Newark, N.J., on March 27. Is Mir taking his fascination with Lesnar too far? Will his obsession with Lesnar catapult him to victory over Carwin or is he putting the cart before the horse and not giving Carwin the attention he deserves? Sound off, Maniacs.

He really is a classless freak. Hopefully this dumbass statement will help more people to realize what a douche he is. I know if Rashad said this people would go NUTS and immediately call for him to be let go.
i hope mir gets past carwin..
because the rubber match with brock will be the biggest fight ever!!!
I know one thing for sure. Somebody will def die in the octagon if these 2 meet up again.

Wow MIR has lost it
What a loser – just when I was starting to admire him and then he starts this crap up. I hope Brock destroys him so we don’t have to see MIR anymore.

Mir publicly threatens to kill Lesnar and daniel is on Mania defending him
Almost too predictable.
I hope Dana gives Nog the title shot first. C’mon Dana give Mir the push he needs to hang himself.

You'r a little slow aren't you?
I didn’t say he should get let go, superstar, I said that if Rashad said that people would think he should be. Maybe a little remedial reading comprehension would do you some good?
what's funny is
if mir hadn’t b*tched out in the 2nd fight, brock could’ve very easily killed mir by bludgeoning. mir should remember such things before he goes off speaking words like this. an attitude such as mir’s doesn’t warrant a 3rd person/referee to interfere with the outcome. he’s made his own bed, i won’t be saddened or shocked if brock were to make him sleep in it.

What a moron..
I think he’ll get past Carwin but I’m looking forward to him getting another beatdown from Brock when they inevitably meet for a third time.
What an idiot....
The more he runs his mouth, the more desperate and jealous he sounds. I mean he talked and disrespected Brock over and over again…then Brock beat him into hamburger meat in a beatdown where he embarassedly held Mir’s head with one hand, while beating him senselessly with the other.
Mir is such a HIPOCRITE. He talsk about respect, blah, blah, blah. but he talks about tearing someone’s head off and ending someone’s life.
The worse part is that Brock beat the shit out of him in about 8 minutes of the 8 min 5 seconds they fought.
What a clown. He is so jealous of Brock it is pothetic
Can't wait for Mir to beat Lesnar

Exactly
After this disgraceful comment he has no right to insult anyone for talking shit, there’s a difference between fighting a hype and hoping to kill your opponent, Mir crossed the line and proved what a low life piece of shit he is. If it was anyone else who said this then the MMA community (including fighters and management) would be calling for a suspension or a fine at least, instead Mir is getting yet another unjust interim title fight against a man who supposedly stands up for what’s right yet sees this guy as a hero and a HOFer.

I hope Carwin kills Mir.....LOL
Can you imagine how Mir will react knowing he will be at least another year or maybe 2 away from, if ever seeing Lesnar again. I wonder what Mir’s room looks like??? I woudl hate to have someone in my head so badly for almost a year already. SAD.
If Mir loses, he may quit mma. He will have to works back up the ladder again. Every one of Mir’s losses were HILARIOUS to watch.
Ian Freeman – old guy in late 30’s and 218 lbs whose father dies the night of the fight. He beat Mir so badly he was crawling to his corner at abotu 4 minutes of round 1 AND with help of cornermen.
Marcio Cruz – same thing beateb BADLY by a 220 guy.
Vera – antoher little guy under 220 lbs that beat the piss out of him.
And of course Lesnar’s embarassing beating of Mir
GREAT STUFF watchign cocky peopel get beat by small guys. ESPECIALLY when Mir talked shit about how Lesnar won the titel by beating a small LH at 220 lbs? Rememebr that one Mir? you got beaten badly by every small guy you faced
nice one!
it’s talk like this that’ll get that madison square garden ppv. it’s beyond belief that this douche hasn’t been taken to one side. he’s built his career on breaking someones arm. “i’m gonna break an arm, a leg, gonna take an arm home with me” or whatever bullshit he spews about seriously harming a competitor no matter who it is. now he wants to KILL someone in the cage. a heavily marketed, top ranked fighter issuing death threats, yeah saying you’re going to murder someone in the cage is the way to change the perception of “human cockfighting”.

Besides Brock got fined and publically apologised for insulting a sponser, so Mir better get at least some sort of punishment for saying that he hoped that his opponent died especially when he almost did not that long ago.

So sponsers are more important than employees (sorry independent contractors)
In boxing if someone said that they wanted to kill their opponent then they’d get fined by the athletic commission, hell that Arreloa guy got fined for swearing after the Klitschko fight. The UFC and commissions have to draw the line somewhere, they don’t have a prayer at getting the sport in the Olympics or even in New York if they allow their top fighters to publically state that they want their opponent to die.
"If I could change my name what would it be? Jesus"
Tito Ortiz (seriously...)
I agree David
This is why I had no problem with what Brock said after 100 to Mir, Mir asked for it and deserved everything he got. It’s funny how some fans are OK with the trash talking before but in the real world the insults and threats made by a fighter have just as much impact on who they are directed at before or after the fight.
`Common sense is not so common - Voltaire
Remember Bud Light Execs came out and said they didn't care
Brock Lesnar mentioning them was good business. He spewed off about them after the main event of the biggest UFC ever, trust me their bottom line wasn’t effected in a negative way.

Are you guys for real?
Who was the first one to say after the fight – he was the better man? Who was the first to say he beat the crap outta me? FRANK.
I respect the guy, not just for his skills. He talks a big game and comes across like a dick sure – but if he’s beat he’s the first to say it. He tells it like it is and before the fight tries to promote himself and his fight. What’s wrong with that?
"Brock fans are a whole new race eh?"
No…I’m a hard core MMA fan that’s been watching since the early 90"s. I like Lesnar!
Well said duck
Brock is one of the most passionate fighters to come in some time. I never watched WWF since I was a kid but the funny thing is his haters seem to be more like WWF fans than MMA fans, that judge Brock by the person and not the fighter. The man was making millions and wanted to compete at something real he tries football but because of his age even though he had all the raw talents needed would of been a three to four year development player and Brock didn’t want to be on the bench that long so he was let go. Went back to the WWF and in a short period realized his true calling MMA.

First, you better turn your attention to Carwin, or you’re going to get your head knocked into the upper deck.
Second, if you want to kill Lesnar in the ring you better have an Oklahoma City-style domestic terror fertilizer and fuel bomb under the ring. There may be some collateral damage with that, but it would likely take out Lesnar.
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
agreed he better not sleep on carwin!
didnt mir come out and basically say that the only reason he is continuing his mma career is to get the chance to fight brock again.this guy is deeply obsessed on a disturbing level.i hope carwin knocks him spark out and then he can piss off back to obscurity and become an alcaholic or something!

Cain is a great wrestler, so Brock may struggle to take him down
Mir will get KO’d in the first round, he won’t be able to get Carwin down and he always gives up as soon as he takes a punch.

cain is a great wrestler but not on brocks level
this sounds crazy but out of all the above mentioned fighters i think carwin has the best chance of beating brock.with brocks ever improving gg ill stick my neck out now and say brock will never lose by sub or decision.the only way i see him losing is getting kayoed hence carwins ur man with jds a close second.
Carwin and JDS both have a great shot against Brock
Big Nog has world class BJJ so if he can get Brock to the ground then he can submit him, it would take Brock years of training with BJJ legends and experience in ADCC tournaments to be able to deal with Nog’s submissions. However, because of Brock’s wrestling base I think that other dominant wrestlers have the best chance at beating him, though JDS has the potential to KO anyone.

He’d be the first one complaining if Brock said this about him and he’s whined like a baby over much lesser insults than this.
"If I could change my name what would it be? Jesus"
Tito Ortiz (seriously...)
Whine?
He takes offence like anyone would, probably even moreso than others. I don’t hear alot of whining from Mir, he talks a big game and then tries to go out and back it up.
He’s a fighter, in a fighters world and now that it’s gone mainstream public all the wannabees that didn’t watch this sport from day one are taking offence to comments? Get real, this has been happening in many sports for hundreds of years.

but lesnars control of mir when on top, especially hip and wrist control was light years ahead of their first fight.i just see brock getting better fight by fight.if anything its probably best to catch him in his 1st fight back coz of the layoff.
That will be the big question, I'm not expecting Brock to be at his best in his first fight back
I want to see how he’ll deal with body kicks and how his cardio is after this long lay-off, it will answer a lot of questions on how great he will end up being.
"If I could change my name what would it be? Jesus"

WOW! I think Mir has officially crossed all the lines....
What makes it even worse, everything he hates about Brock he has become himself. Even the original hype, trash talking machine, Tito Ortiz has never taken things to that level. The ogre, barbarian that Brock is, officially has more class then Mir now. I am not a fan of either of these guys but I think an angry Brock is going to step into the ring with this Mir and take physical punishment to a new level. I hope Brock takes home an eye!

Umm What did I make up?
I said Mir has become everything he hates about Brock. Am I wrong about that? As far back as I can remember Mir was usually pretty classy (maybe he did some hype talk) till getting pounded out like a piece of concrete under a jackhammer. In all my years of watching mma, I don’t ever recall hearing a fighter wishing death upon an opponent, nor do I recall Brock wishing death upon any of his opponents, which imo(and it is only that, an opinion) is taking things to far. Hype is your are an overrated, one dimensional meat head who I will expose in our third meeting an your wife is a trashy pirate hooker. Crossing the line, again imo, is wishing death upon someone because you don’t like the person they are.
Also, if you read my original post I clearly say, “I am not a fan of either guy…” However, I have come to respect the fact that Brock is an absolute beast in the cage.

I agree.
This is too much. He doesn’t like Brock because he’s never been manhandled like that before. He felt like a helpless inmate in there with Brock and it made him feel powerless. I think Mir feels like he was violated by the way Brock completely disregarded his experience and did what he wanted with him. This kind of talk is dangerous because we have such a physically brutal sport and it’s not outside the realm of possibility someone being killed in the octagon.

Sensativity has nothing to do with it...
I love watching fights, seeing blood, brutal ko’s, the occasional gruesome injury, and even the occasional hype/trash talk but maybe my respect for human life supercedes the wish for death.
Edomonton are you refering to my eye comment?
An eye and death are 2 different things. Fighters all the time say they want to take home a limb. Like I said I would love to hear Brock say I am going to take home a limb(like so many submission artists say), but his submission skills are not there, and he is fighting a bjj black belt. So I put an eye since I could see one of those roast beef size fists jarring something loose in Mirs head….

Geeezuz Frank, have you ever heard of BAD KARMA!!!!!!!!!!
You can not go around talking like that. I watched the last fight against Brock man and it did not work out to good for you. I want to like Frank but the more he talks the harder he makes it!!!!!!!!!! I think Brock will smash him again. Its to bad Brock got sick and had to miss all this time, he really had some good momentum and was just on a tear. I dont think anyone would have beat him before he got sick (for a while anyways). But with this lay off, being sick, not training and ring rust he could come in a differant guy and Frank might even be able to beat him. If I were Brock I would want two warm up fights before I turned Frank into a bloody pulp again!!!!

I’m not offended in the least. I think Mir is living in an alternate reality or parallel universe if he thinks he can even compete with Brock, much less beat Brock and much much less kill Brock. I complain about Mir because he's a piece of shit who acts like he's the greatest and above everyone, complains about Brock talking shit then states that he wants to break his neck and kill him
I haven’t seen WWE in years and that has no impact on what I think of MMAsts, otherwise I’d think that Shamrock was the greatest of all time.
"If I could change my name what would it be? Jesus"
Tito Ortiz (seriously...)
but you did say you were a fan before ufc of brock and you dont watch american football so it wasn't due to that so what was it?
also not as fun being a fan of a washed up fighter like Shamrock who wasn’t nearly the entertainer in wwe that Brock was.

Shamrock was around when I started watching WWF and I was a fan of him
It was how I first noticed him as well as Brock and I’m not ashamed to admit that but I also like Brock’s crazy personality and I find it laughable that supposed morally superior fighters like Mir get away with saying shit like this and that MMA fans accept it because they don’t like what Brock has to say about Canadian healthcare, sponsers or simply because he used to be in WWE.
"If I could change my name what would it be? Jesus"

i can safely say that if and when Brock says stuff like this
…I will not complain or whine, because its entertaining and if you’re such a fan of Lesnar can’t you see his personality is very similar to that of Mir’s? He will talk back, trust me.

What is wrong with being a fan of WWE 6 years ago?
He was probably watching it when he was 13. I was a WWF fan long before I came to love MMA. Most of us probably did come from a wrestling fan base. This is WWF 2010, where the fights are real and the entertainment still pays the bills. But this isn’t poorly chosen words in the heat of battle. This is a dude obsessed with another man 9 months later.
Mir is crushing on Lesnar and it is kinda grossing me out. I have always said Mir will beat Carwin, now I hope I’m wrong, just so Mir has to start at square one again.

Best rivalry of all time?
I think it will be Mir who faces Lesnar on July 3. I’m know that I’m gonna be bashed for saying this, but I truly believe that Mir will take the third encounter. I was at 81 and 100 and I sure as hell will be there for this one. I don’t like Mir, but he’s huge, powerful and motivated as hell for this fight. Plus he’s already been training for Carwin who is very similar to Lesnar. Lesnar needs a warm-up fight, but we all know that won’t happen. He’s been inactive for a year come July.Mir will be at least a 2 to 1 underdog. I’m gonna put some major cash on ’em.
NO!
I would say far from the best BUT NOT THE BEST NOT EVEN CLOSE…. BY far the best has to be WANDER VS RAMPAGE. THOSE fight are possible the best fights in MMA history. The Brock vs Mir fights are not nearly as competitive even if Mir won by desperation footlock.

Mir would never last in pride he has no heart… Wes Sims finished him with stomps and he couldnt continue LMAO and Brock hit him one time in the back of his head LMAO… MIr isnt the toughest fighter I think he should fight Anderson so we can see a replay of the Forest Fight

As Mir the person I’m not a fan but as mir the fighter I have been for awhile. The old Mir was a huge underachiver because he was a lazy alcoholic but always had the ability to beat anybody and did but also could lose to anybody and did. With him dedicated to the gym and training he is looking like the fighter that always should of been and in my opinion this Mir would of done very well in Pride. Would he of won every fight?… he would of been a great challenge to anyone in my opinion. Will he be able to beat Brock I doubt it and if he is looking past Carwin he could very well lose to Carwin.

I understand that marketing a potential fight may help get you that fight alittle sooner if the fight makes sense to UFC execs but even as a Frank Mir fan and being anti-Brock Lesnar, I do agree that Mir did go too far in saying that he wants Brock to be the first MMA related death.
As for the rubber match, Mir’s world class conditioning regimen that he has been on for almost 2 years now atop his powerlifting regimen that is going on about 9-10 months has transformed him into a heavyweight whom already possessed a superior level of MMA knowledge but now he has the size, or shall I say overwhelming size, to convincingly beat anyone in the heavyweight division.
Once you throw in factors like Brock’s coming off of being really sick, trying to regain all of the muscle mass that he lost, and ring rust. Not to mention everyone must remember that even in the second match, minus the lay and pray w/ punches from Lesnar, Mir was much more active and if both of these guys are a cut 265 lbs at the weigh-ins and 285 lbs. on fight night, it’s going to come down to overall skill and Mir is FAR too good of a mixed martial artist for Brock Lesnar to compete with.
I see this fight being competitive for a minute or two but becoming one-sided very quickly and ending at the very latest with a 2nd round submission and/or TKO in favor of the next UFC Heavyweight Champion, Frank Mir.
Brock was 60% the last time they fought, or when Brock fought while Mir did a great impersonation of a punching bag. Brock will be 100% healthy if/when they fight again. Mir is going to absolutely fucking wrecked.

Question P-Dub
As a huge Brock fan I had a question for you. Since Mir is now working with a S&C coach and is Brock’s size, do you not worry at all about the fact that Mir is more well-rounded? Obviously Lesnar will still have the wrestling advantage, but Mir will have the advantage on the feet, and if the size/strength is somewhat comparable Mir should be able to avoid simply being held in place with one arm. To me, stylistically, it looks similar to Cain/Nog(MMA gods forgive me for comparing Nog to Mir) in that you have a dominant wrestler versus a more well-rounded fighter. Like I said, this of course is very dependent upon Mir being comparable in the size/strength department, which he should be if he does it right. Just a question for you, because I know you’ve always liked Brock and would like a Brock fans take on it. Obviously you don’t seem the least bit worried, but I was wondering if you thought about it like this.
"If Tito would just use his head as a battering ram, he never lose"-Rampage
Fair question
Brock is just a completely different kind of athlete. I don’t think there is any amount of training Mir can do that will make him as strong or athletic or explosive as Brock. Will he be closer? Yes. Can he match Brock? No chance.
As far as striking goes, I don’t see Mir with much advantage if any. Yes, he knocked Nog around the ring, but we all know Nog had a serious staph infection. Mir was right when he said if Nog was too sick to fight then he should never have gotten in the ring, but still. He used the same 2-3 punch combo and looked pretty stiff doing it. Nothing special. Brock doesn’t have a technical or refined striking game, but when he hits people, they fall.
On the ground, I still think Brock’s neck and shoulders are just too big and too thick to give anyone much chance to lock in any kind of sub. And even if someone does he will power out of most of them. If Mir put a triangle on Brock, Brock would pick him up and toss him out of the cage.
Maybe, assuming Mir gets past Carwin, he comes into the Brock fight a completely different fighter than what we’ve seen and has a chance. But nothing he has done to this point makes me think a third fight will be any different from the first two.
The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful
Cool
Just wanted to hear your perspective on it. Honestly I picked Carwin the first time him and Mir were supposed to fight and hope Carwin wins anyway. Just curious as to whether or not the added mass of Mir had you even slightly concerned. I think Mir definitely has the advantage on the feet, but you’re right, if Brock lands you’re in trouble. Thanks for the response.
"If Tito would just use his head as a battering ram, he never lose"-Rampage
Hey Dice I'm jumping in on your question to P-Dub
Mir bulked up in 6 months the weight may help but the strength will not even be close to Brocks who has had his muscle mass from his college days. Brocks muscles have been fatigued and proven threw hard work adding extra muscle as fast as Mir did may help in the weight but strength no and endurance will be effected as those muscles struggling against Brock in the grapple will cause Mir to fatigue much quicker than he use to because it’s new muscle. How much slower will Mir be? It’s Mirs strength that will be needed to stop Brock from taking him to the ground the weight will have no factor.
`Common sense is not so common - Voltaire
I would
Like to see Anderson vs Mir so we could see another Forest Griffin like beatdown and Mir running out the cage. Mir doesnt have the heart to beat Brock when the going get tough Mir goes to sleep, Just ask Wes Sims. Underr Pride Rules half of these guys wouldnt be shit and the Pride rules are the closest to real fighting by far.
by The real ZACK on Feb 20, 2010 2:30 PM EST up reply actions
Well “X” amount of muscle is still “X” amount of muscle regardless of how long it’s been on your body. Muscle doesn’t get stronger with time. It doesn’t matter if I put on 20 lbs. of muscle by next month or if I wait 2 years to do it. Either way it’s the same amount of muscle and the strength that goes with it. Do I think Mir will ever be as athletic as Brock? No. But he has the frame to get just as strong as Brock. For some reason it seems like people think it’s impossible to match Brock’s strength, which isn’t the case. I’m not saying Mir will, but he definitely could at least be very comparable to Brock in the right training system. Also it’s not so much preventing Brock from taking him down, it’s controlling the position on the ground. Brock’s going to get his takedowns, but can Mir’s added size and strength keep Brock from getting dominant positions?
"If Tito would just use his head as a battering ram, he never lose"-Rampage
It's wrestling strength though dice
Muscle that has been pushed to the limits. There is a build up muscle gets when it fatigues I forget what it called but anyway most athletes muscle in whatever sport they are in are much more superior with there bodies being able to slow down the build up and wrestlers build up from all the grappling they have done is through out most of their body. It takes years for your body to develop it full potential in regards to limiting fatigueing in the muscle. Yes Mir may be stronger than ever but for how long if the fight goes on and agaisnt Brock? It’s like Shamrock mass that Mir has put on sure Shamrock was strong but Brock has GSP like muscle.
`Common sense is not so common - Voltaire
I understand what you’re saying. You’re saying he’s worked various muscle groups through wrestling for so long that normal weight training can’t imitate in such a short period of time, right? That makes sense, and I understand what you’re saying. Like I said, I don’t believe for a second that Mir will be able to out-wrestle Brock, and I doubt he will match him in strength, but it will definitely be closer. It’s also more difficult to control a man that weighs 265 as opposed to 240. Good points guys, I appreciate the feedback. Like I said I’m rooting for Carwin anyway.
"He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man." -Dr. Johnson
Dice
Size does not equate to strength.
Mir is not much bigger than he has always been. He is not even close to Brock’s “natural” weight or mass. Lesnar walks around over the 265 limit quite easily. Sometimes getting over the 300 lbs mark. Mir at his heaviest has been 262.
The biggest difference between them and what P-Dub was trying to convey properly is known as “functional strength.” Lesnar’s size and weight is comepletly tuned and functional at that size. That is something that has been developing for more than 15 years. Mir can add all the weight he wants. It’s not going to change the functionality of that weight, because his body is not accustomed to carrying it around and using resistance motion with it.
Lesnar rag dolls 300+ lbs guys in his training camp.. He’ll have no problem at any weight Mir or any other HW could get to.
The difference between Lesnar and most other guys his size is that Lesnar is a gifted pure athlete with that size. Most people that size can function at the pace and speed and still keep their cardio conditioning. It’s an enormous amount of oxygen for the muscles to use.
Mir think’s he lost because he was smaller.. Mir lost because he is no where NEAR the real athlete he thinks he is. He may have good technique and a mindset for ground fighting, but his own natural limitations have been expoited. Lesnar would and could beat him 9 out of ten times because he is always going to be a better athlete. His athletic ability is the great equalizer to Mir’s advance knowledge and technique. Lesnar is superior to Mir in almost every facet of the physcial game, and always will be. Lesnar is not unbeatable, but Mir is simply going about it the wrong way..

Oh, JP how foolish we are...
Mir gained 30 lbs in 5 months or did you forget. Lesnar walks around N A T U R A L L Y at 300. He didn’t have to hire a strength & conditioning coach to “bulk him up” . And Lesnar trains bjj with one of the best heavyweight world bjj champs in history. Mir’s jits isn’t in the same stastosphere as Lesnar’s bjj coach so he has nothing Lesnar hasn’t seen. Brock will be very well prepared physically, & now with Mir’s ignorance and stupididty he will be very well prepared mentally! Mir smack talked so much before the last fight and all it did was fuel Lesnar.

If two fighters are lets say 6’1" and fight at 205, does it really matter if one bulked up with a hardcore S&C program, or if one slimmed down to make weight? Don’t understand what the problem with bulking up is.
"If Tito would just use his head as a battering ram, he never lose"-Rampage
theoretically
the one who is naturally at his weight should have an advantage, feeling more natural and being used to the weight.
However in this case I’d be more worried about Lesnar’s weight/physique after his illness that required him to change his diet. Must have been something serious.

He won't need an excuse
It dosen’t matter how big Mir comes in. Lesnar uses his wrestling perfectly to control his opponents and gnp the hell out of him. Herring was only 10 pounds lighter than Lesnar and he controlled him with ease. AND Lesnar only had 2 fights before that. Plus he is not only big but naturally very strong. Being a strength and conditioning coach I knew another coach that worked at U of Minnesota and said Brock was benching over 600 lbs his senior year. That’s a real strong dude. I have only had a handful of athletes in 18 years that could do that.

You miss the point
Lesnar will have no problem putting the weight back on because his natural weight (set point) is 300 lbs. Being sick and losing a lot of weight won’t affect his performance as our young JP suggested. I lost 30 lbs in one month due to illness in between fights and gained it all back in 4 months and was just as strong as I was before.

If it was anyone else..
Go Frank Go, Some heavy words that I normally would take issue with but Brock is the biggest D-bag in the business. Brock has no respect for the sport, for anyone in it, or for anyone who paved the way for the sport to become what it is. He does this solely so he can feed his ego of wanting everyone to fear him… He said he has no respect for anyone in the sport and…. “As soon as you step in and have any respect for your opponent, I think you become the loser a hell of a lot sooner.”…. Fuck Lesnar, his post fight antics, what he says, everything about him sucks Id be willing to bet if anyone here hung out with the guy would think so too. Here’s a guy who’s probably been 10 times bigger than everyone around him since jr high and has thought ever since he’s better than everyone because of it and demands their respect while giving none to anyone else. I once read an article with somone who spent quite a bit of time with Lesner and what he said about him is that…. BROCK IS A MENTAL MIDGET…. that’s gotta dead on. If frank breaks his neck maybe he’ll learn some humility. Frank will always be a thousand times the MMA fighter than Brock will ever be, no matter what the win-loss columns say.

Shameful....
Mir is starting to sound as unintelligent as Tyson did when he said he wanted to eat his opponent’s kids.
Frank Mir could pack on another 20 pounds of muscle and still not be able to compete on a physically even level with Brock- Brock’s walked around with more muscle than him as a fact of life for 15 years- he doesn’t have to discover what that’s like and how to make it work to his advantage. It’s what normal is to him, and it’s why, despite being a meathead when it comes to promoting fights (I really wish he could set aside the WWE heel antics and just be himself instead of who he thinks he needs to be to sell fights), he’s such a frightening matchup- who else are you going to find with that freak athleticism and desire to end a fight in obliteration?
Last time he grabbed MIr, flung him like a rag doll to the mat, held the one arm that could protect his face out of the way and whaled on his face with short strikes that left his face looking like someone beat him with a sledgehammer sized meat tenderizer.
I woudn’t be surprised to see Brock land a few extra shots a la Hendo on Bisping if they meet a third time and claim he couldn’t hear the call to end from crowd noise, just to give him the message that the only thing coming in a future meeting is a worse beating.
This matchup feels more and more like Shamrock/Ortiz, with Mir the fading Shamrock…
Go Carwin!
Mir makes Carwin look like a genius…That is no easy task.

I’m not the biggest fan of Baroni, or Mir, but I’m a huge fan of BJ, and all of them can sell a fight, I bet everyone who’s upset about Mir talking all this mad smack will tune in hoping he’s beaten unconscious. Anyone remember “Sean Sherk…You’re Dead” no one cried…I mean c’mon, yes it’s a sport, yes it’s one that should be known for respect and for the most part is, but every now and again you gotta sell a fight. What easier way to make people WANT Brock/Mir III than making everyone talk about how much they want to see it. Yes it’s not very sportsmanlike, yes he’s a douche, but one who already has the MMA community on fire wanting the fight…so IMHO it’s brilliant…

after what mir just said...
can u blame brock for doin anything after the fight?
seriously no one is allowed to bitch at brocks antics at all after mir said this bs
I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was.
Always kinda of liked Mir, mainly as a fighter, but after these comments I hope he gets past Carwin because I want to see Brock totally destroy him! Those were probably the most classless comments I have ever heard from a UFC fighter. It’s one thing to want to beat someone’s ass and it’s fine to really dislike someone, but to go and say that you want to break someone’s neck for real and make them the first person to die inside the octagon, c’mon!
Mir is a smart guy
He knows what he’s doing. This 3rd fight with Brock is everything t Mir’s career. If he loses, he wont get the belt again, and his arch nemesis wins the series.
He’s doing everything he can to get in Brocks head, and honestly, albeit way too far to say you want to break his neck in the Octagon and hope he dies, he is getting in Brocks head. Brock is every bit concerned about smashing Frank as Frank is smashing Brock.
Franks trash talk is nothing more than to try and get Brock so pissed off he doesn’t fight with a cool head like he did in the 2nd fght. He wants a raging Brock like he saw in the 1st fight. He knows he can beat Brock when Brock is out of control.
That is his plan.
Not a good plan
If Mir thinks Brock is out of control in the octagon and trash talking will help him, he’s sadly mistaken. Brock has over 100 competiative wrestling matches in college with very a heated rivalary agaisnt other colleges he sticks to the gameplan regardless. Now the Brock outside of the octagon has had some choice of words some don’t like? But really if you judge Brocks game by what he say’s rather than what he does that makes you more of a WWF fan than WWE fan because words will not change Brocks ability or game.

Luv U Mir keep talking… but U gotta focus on shane … don’t underestimate him
Best Luck
Brock says he's going to get on top of his wife and it's a big deal
yet Mir can say he is going to kill someone and it’s hype? LOL

This was a gentle handshake compared to what would happen in the third fight. Get a clue, worby.

There won't be one.
Mir has been dreaming about Brock for so long he’ll forget he has a fight in a month with Shane Carwin. He’s going to get knocked out.

Time will tell Jay
I think his experience will take him past Carwin. I appreciate Carwin is a monster but aside from Gonzaga I don’t see who Carwin has really been tested against. He was also rocked very quickly in that fight.
Throw that into the mix with a pretty long layoff and the odds get that much longe for Carwinr. One things for sure, if he beats Mir then he’s the real deal for sure.
I don’t truly believe yet but he can make me believe with this fight.

I will be betting against Shane. But there is a small chance Shane will win, I'll be rooting for that small chance.

Me too jay
I respect Mirs skills but I really would prefer the winner of tonights fight fight Brock and the Winner of the Mir Fight faces JDS.

Big Smile
Mir has a polarizing affect on everyone. I actually prefer the motivated Mir to the fat guy Mir. Ultimately though, he’s too slow and Brock has learned too much for him to win anyway.
Off topic but i’ve got to say how shit it is for us on GMT to have to wait till the morning for the fights! I can’t wait AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
i hate coming into a brock thread and finding out it already has 200 plus comments cause i dont have the time to read all the crap and respond to everything…..and even if i did no one is gonna take the time to respond to what i say cause they dont want to sort through over 200 comments to read my 2 cents worth either…
so i’ll just say
brock lesnar is god…fuck mir….
brock has had 4 fights in the ufc and half of them have been against the same guy…does brock really need to face the same guy 3 times in his 5 ufc fights?? what a waste of time….
who wants to see that shit? we’ve already seen it twice….mir had his title shot less than a year ago and got destroyed…he wins one fight and suddenly is in the interim title fight…how the fuck does that happen??
i think everyone on the planet is ready to see brock face someone new…..the nogs/cain winner…..or jds…..
if mir beats carwin then its like…ok mir, you just had a title shot less than a year ago….you lost….now its someone else’s turn….
my dream fight would have to be Brock Lesnar vs Jake Shields...and before the fight theres a video of jake slapping brock's wife...then id like to see shields try to gay porn a win over brock using his butt sex merry-go-round tactics...the massacre that would take place would be the greatest thing ever televised...every limb jake has would look like corey hill's leg...god i hate jake shields
Def want to see Chestnar/Nog…JDS after that assuming he wins his next one and Nog isn’t the champ..Mir should get a shot if beats Carwin and wins one more after that…title could be around someone else’s waist by then though

Mir
This is the same guy who cried his eyes out about how Lesner acted after the last fight. But if you are going to disrespect a guy like Mir did on the pre-fight show before their last fight, how can expect to get respect in return. I really hope he did not make the statements because he makes himself look childish and unprofessional. Not to mention he still has to get past Carwin.
Pre-fight hype and post-fight respect is what this sport is built on. The hype is what puts butts in seats, the respect afterward is what keeps people coming back.
The difference between Mir and Lesnar is clear when you compare Frank after beating Kongo and Brock after beating Mir. Pre-fight hype is what it is, hype — that’s it.
I understand why people are upset at these comments but everyone’s ignorance on the difference between a pre-fight interview and what Brock did to Mir after UFC 100 is shocking…
A FEW WORDS...
A FEW WORDS, and the right wins and Mir can get that 3rd chance, which really means a MASSIVE payday, win or loose. Those words….It’s all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!
wow
that comment is just what “costello” says, all you lesnar cock riders need to cool your hard ons since when does someone loose to mir, beat hearing, and get a title shot? “mir is god” give me a break, its just like heath hearing said dana white and zuffa have their fighters that they want to win and thats it, they see lesnar as a money machine, i root for the underdog and lesnar is never the underdog,
and big whoop over what mir said this isnt ballet, its mma you pussies, quit crying over some b.s. comment meant to ensure mir gets a 3rd fight regaurdless of UFC 111 out come
LESNAR IS GOD
LESNAR IS GOD…until someone like Carwin or Velasquez knock him out cold in the 1st round. Velasquez has never been taken down in the cage….never.
Big Mir Fan
I think this comment is definitely pushing it…
I do think however, that for as much talking as Mir does before a fight, when the fight is over, like any other classy MMA fighter he genuinely cares about his opponent’s well being (see his post-fight behavior when he choked out Kongo) and gives them the respect that they deserve.
On the flip-side, Brock showed Mir and the sport the ultimate disrespect with his post-fight antics towards Mir, the sponsors, and the fans at UFC 100.
I certainly love most of Mir’s pre-fight trash talk, especially what he said before the Kongo fight when he was talking about scaring the crap out of Brock but I will agree that this comment is pushing the limits of good taste. Lets be honest with ourselves though, how many times have we been pissed at someone and said god I want to just kill them. Perhaps this comment was taken in the heat of the moment and Mir didn’t actually mean it. One can only hope that’s the case.
Cheers!
