Whatever face surgery Wandy had makes him look like he’s wearing eye shadow or some other sort of make-up. I would have a hard time not laughing at him in a stare-down until he punched me.

I am so pumped for this. They finally gave Nog the homage he deserves in this one. Very well done. Even Wand. I guess they had no choice but to give them props since no ufc posterboys aka the paycheck or the iceman. Cain’s camp was looking very serious and mad props to Camarillo. (if you saw it and were impressed by Velasquez knocking down Lavar Johnson, just realize that Lavar was shot up and in the hospital near death for almost a year.)

Bisping
will unfortunately end the career of silva. He was the best of his kind in his prime. However, not only has he been off course in his last couple of fights, the cut to 195 was very visible. Sad to say the axe murderer is going to get murdered.

Wanderlai is a legned. However, Bisping has a much better chance of keeping silva at bay with his reach and straight punches. Silva just needs to hang them up IMO. Oh and silva gets KO’d very frequently. just saying. prettyboy!

neither of those two guys have weak chins.
haven’t you noticed that a big reason why you never see the “best” fighters go down is because they never get hit clean on the button. Guys like Jardine and Wand have been taking serious shots in the exchanges when they are swinging wildly, it’s a matter of defence and head movement.
I see Bisping having a pretty good chance here to be honest if he can weather the storm in the first round, it can go either way. Bader/Jardine should only go one way as Bader is too strong.

I don’t like Bisping but my guess is he will surpise wanderli by taking him down when possible and get a decision…
So you think Bisping has the same power as Cro Cop, Hendo and Rampage?

its the fact that when a guy gets dropped so many times
it doesnt take as much anymore….perfect example is the shogun punch to chuck….that wasnt exactly on the same level as the shots he took from shad and page…but you can only get caught on the button so many times before the ones you used to be able to walk through suddenly start dropping you…

rothwell is a tough guy, he always finishes his fights…thats one thing about him, he never goes to a decision…..good balance of subs and kos…..but i think the ufc gave this fight to cro cop to be like “hey man we’re giving you a guy who isnt a top 5 guy, this is your chance to prove you belong in the ufc”
i think cro cop comes in prepared knowing this is his make it or break it fight, and rothwell is gonna come and bring it, he does every fight…cant remember exactly but i think hes only been to a decision maybe like 3 times or something…..so its gonna be a fast fight…someone is going to sleep….and i think its rothwell

Well, i just don't think he can hang with adept strikers of today...
but guys who dont have the hand skills or kicks, he’ll probly maul ala Al Turk. Rothwell is a run and smash kinda guy and isn’t very fleet on his feet. Cro cop will probly land some hard leg kicks to slow him even further and just do the circling out and getting shots in for the majority of the fight.

How is that frequently? Wand took a lot of punishment those fights. Bumpage was the only flash ko & that hook wud have put anybody 2 sleep not just Wand.

my picks
cain by doing what cain does best….i think he’ll probably be able to fend off the subs…especially if he stays tight chest to chest instead of raising up too high and exposing himself…and i dont think there is any way nogs can take cain’s back unless he drops him with a punch first and then takes it, but cain isnt gonna be dumb enough to try to stand and box…
i think bisping learned his lesson with hendo, hes not gonna stand and brawl with wandy cause he doesnt want to have his jaw end up in the 5th row again….bisping is gonna be really cautious…wandy seems like hes lost his killer instinct, hes fighting for the “fans” and not the belt….i dunno….i miss the deadly pride wandy…id like to see him go on a murdering spree and slaughter everyone…i thought he was gonna do that to rich but he didnt….so ima say bisping by decision

I love these old guys from pride, have forever. On that note Cain, Bisping, Soturoplous, Bader, Stevenson. I will miss Nog and Silva but there just over the hill.

I have been watching MMA for 16 years and it is the best sport on the planet! Most of the people that post in these forums make me furious on a daily basis by being a-holes or just dumb as hell... then I look around and realize ahhhh I'm at home and am just as guilty as all of you idiots.

That said I think he’ll beat Bisping (I’m a Brit and often defend Bisping as he seems like a normal guy who some foreigners don’t seem to get – no he’s not a personality-less drone like Hughes or Henderson but he’s not a total dick like people make out either).
Nog should go through Cain no problem, both are tough but I don’t see how Cain will be able to stop Nog as he couldn’t finish Congo – and in those same positions Nog is a helluva lot more of a handful to deal with, it’s where he does his best work.

My first impression was, wow Bisping looks good in this staredown, he might have some real confidence (not regarding what’s being said in pre-fight interviews)
The Sanchez/Guida staredown at the start of the fight was an all-time classic!
Don’t think staredowns mean that much really, I remember thinking Frank Bruno would beat Tyson as he looked mean up to the fight and Tyson was looking timid – then they walk out to the ring and Bruno looks like a scared bunny while Tyson looks like he’s about to eat somebody’s children :(

He’s on his way DOWN. Career is nearing the end, has been losing 5 out of 6. To see him winning in a dominating fashion would be a comeback imo, not something that’s so clear cut.
This fight will give us the answer...
And I’m not saying that if he loses he’s done/wins he’s back necessarily. Bisping isn’t a can and has looked very good at MW, Hendo loss aside (I still contend he didn’t fight as he had been at MW in that fight and looked ill/dehydrated physically). So Wandy could lose but look impressive or win while looking tired etc.
The thing is Wandy’s had his surgery and time to recover – this fight will tell us what effect that break has had – he could be refreshed and revitalised, back to the old Wandy or it could be more of the same like his last few fights. He may not be KO’d as Bisping is hardly a KO artist but he could still be done if he doesn’t look impressive.
I actually wonder if...
Rich Franklin is done now – he just can’t beat the best at 185 or 205 and seems forever stuck in mediocrity now. Others still have things to prove but Rich has sort of been there, done that, much like Forrest Griffin I suppose. They aren’t winning their weight divisions again unless the top tier get wiped out in a bizarre coach accident or something. What do they have left to offer?
For some reason I see it more with these guys than others who haven’t got to the top yet or who were once champs (Wandy/Chuck for example) but hit a bad run – maybe their respective breaks will have given them time to recover from the KO’s and bring back their A-game. Other guys like Rashad have been dethroned but still seem to be contenders with the ability to challenge. I just have little interest in seeing Franklin or Griffin fight now, knowing they aren’t really going to get anywhere – unless of course the fights themselves are great, but both seem softer and easier to beat than they once were.

Wands lost 5 of his last 6 fights… Thats a fact.
Don’t get me wrong, i like wand, but the Wand we once knew is no longer.. Bisping at 185 is too much for wand… Are you forgetting how gassed wand looked at 195? Well he has to somehow get down to 185..
Bisping is simply too much.. The pace bisping sets is too much. Time to jump off the wand bandwagon people and get real.

I’ll keep rooting for Wand no matter what. He’s been a great ambassador for the sport; unless assholes like Rampage. This guy has done it all and suffered a few losses to absolute monsters. Even if he is on the decline, he’s super entertaining – those fights vs Chuck and Franklin were some of the greatest wars ever.
He’s had time to gradually get down to 185. This is better weight class for him since all his losses came against guys who one punch KO power. Very few guys have at at 185 compared to 205. If anything, he’s the one who can shut guys lights out with one hit.
Watch him plow through Bisping.
