and u bench more?

dude that is pretty impressive…if its true. their’s a few monsters at the gym i go to but no1 benches that much, i think the most at my gym is160kg

by ruanfiy on Feb 17, 2010 4:44 PM EST up reply actions

not now, i'm at 140 now for 7 reps....but only once a week

but i did do 10 plates plus the bar, for 4 reps regularly about three years ago, but elbows and other joints are not capable of doing that on a regular basis, which is why my elbows are fucked, and along with jj training and other joint manipulation techniques has left my arms in a sad state of affairs, i wouldn’t recommend it…. but for him to do it so early, age 24 is impressive

and weight also matters...

i was 18.5 stone then, but just touch 16 stone now, and i think thats what fedor is, so it is very impressive that he could lift that, especially at 24, obviously don’t know what his weight was then though….

still impressive none the less

my bench is 140kg for 1 rep but its a struggle and a half likes buts it s rep lol. am sitting at 13.10 but its not a lean weight, not fat likes but av been leaner. did u compete at power lifting?

by ruanfiy on Feb 17, 2010 5:15 PM EST up reply actions

no, when i was boxing at 12.10, lhw, i could barely push 100kg

alot of time strength comes with repeticion(spelt wrong, sorry), but when you are training for stamina and strength, it is very difficult to achieve good strength gains, because of the need to keep your weight low, and your intensity high, and your stamina high, so unless you are a genetic freak, there is allways a certain threshold that you can not pass, unless you are willing to sacrifice one for the other, ie more strength less stamina etc, that is why it is extremely important for athletes to increase lean muscle mass, but you all ready know that. but 140kg at 13.10 is doing really well, because you have the power, if your on your back, to get a bigger, or similar sized opponent off you really well, plus it will also increase your punching power, as well as your core strength, your doin well…

Well I had to do the conversion...

I am an American so i had to do the conversion but I played College football and benched 375lbs once as just a one rep max which is just of 170kgs and I was about 285lbs then and 375lbs was not the top max for out team and we were a good Division 2 football team, just imagine what a good division 1 team guys could do.

by Edgecrusher71 on Feb 17, 2010 6:03 PM EST up reply actions

its all relative though.....

and basically comes down to power to weight ratio……and you should be roughly between 2.4 to 3 times your bodyweight on a pectoral press, sometimes alot more for power and explosivness, but this has to be balanced with the stamina required to perform the task in hand. and also the destruction you are willing to place on your joints for the benefit you can gain, ie, if you are not getting paid alot don’t fucking do it, cos by the time you are 45 you will be goosed

BJ

his name is only sexual cause you make it that way. try growing up a little bit and that will cease to be a problem. aoki would die if he fought b.j. and we all seem to know this except you. i’ll be convinced that someone at 155 can beat penn when i actually see it.

Funny

BJ has no boxing, no BJJ, no take-down defense, no chin and Aoki is the god of all 155ers. Aoki will KO Penn. 1st round. He doesn’t even need his fancy pants to get this done. I will now light myself on fire.

Cain is not the future

i dont think he will get past Nog. I dont even think he can get past Couture. Hes too small compared to Mir, Brock and Carwin. He has no power and only gets by on his wrestling.

but i just dont see big nog beating him.cain will take him down at will,i mean dan got nog down,so that wont be a problem, and i admit cains striking isnt up to par but im sure he has been working on it extensively for this fight.his ground and pd is relentless.i think cain will take a UD

The problem is...

That spending 15 minutes in Nog’s guard is a bad idea and Cain’s striking isn’t the most technical either.. Stylistically this is the worst match up for Cain in that his strengths are going to play in to Nog’s strengths. I’ve never seen a healthy Nog have a conditioning problem, and he can take a crap load of punishment, he’s going to have plenty of time to find a sub in this one.

Nothing special at all. FEDOR is my hero, but this is awful. Only thing worth noting is when they ask about “would you like to fight Lashley and Brock”.

He says “Lashley is with Strikeforce now”. LONG PAUSE then “Who was the other you asked about?” Interviewer: “Brock”. FEDOR: " Oh yes, he is the UFC Champion, that fight could happen".

NOthing.

If the UFC had the balls to cross promote

then we would see a lot more great fights. Dos Santos even said that he was more scared of fighting Cro Cop than thought of fighting Lesner. And from a fighters point of veiw you can see why. Look who Cro Cop has beaten and look at his highlight reels, then look at what Brock has done. Fedor like Dos Santos probably sees a Brock as a powerful wrestler with a lot of talent and potential, but he really hasn’t done much for top level fighters to crap there pants over. He is a freak, no doubt, but until he wins a lot more fights against quality opponents, then it will only be keyborad warriors and WWE fans that see him as an MMA god with only 4 wins to his name. I am not surprised Fedor forgot who he was.

fedor was benching around 400 pounds at the age of 24. which is impressive but if you live in the united states and played american football than that really isnt that big of a deal. i hit that at 17 years old. and there was 2 kids at my school that were near the 500 pound mark. idk how it was throughout the rest of the states but at our school they were on our asses to get stronger.

fedor didnt forget who brock was out of disrespect. if you watched all the videos like i did you will see he pauses alot. kinda seems like he is tryin to think of what to say before saying it.

about the 2 of them being humble. i personally dont like either fighter. that being said i do believe fedor is one of the most humble fighters out there. i think anderson is a douche and cant wait to see someone beat him. i think maia is retardedly over-rated but i hope he can sub anderson and leave it in alittle longer ala babalu.

and for the guy thats on cain’s nuts you are just a idiot. cain has just as much of a chance of winning this as calib starnes does of getting back into the ufc. its just not going to happen.
