UFC 113 tickets on sale soon for May 8 show at The Bell Centre in Montreal

Ufc-113-poster_medium

Tickets for UFC 113: "Machida vs. Shogun 2," which is slated for The Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 8, 2010, will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010.

UFC Fight Club members and UFC Newsletter subscribers, naturally, will be able to scoop up tickets prior to them being available for public consumption.

That's important to consider because UFC 83: "St. Pierre vs. Serra" back in 2008 was the fastest sellout ever for the organization. In fact, only a handful of tickets ever make it out to the public when the promotion hits Montreal -- the majority of them are gobbled up in the presales.

So be sure to get 'em as soon as you can.

Here is the UFC 113 ticket sales schedule (All times ET):

Star-divide

  • UFC Fight Club presale: Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. ET
  • UFC Newsletter presale: Friday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. ET
  • General tickets sale: Saturday, Feb. 20 10 a.m. ET

UFC 113 tickets can be purchased through StubHub.com (Note: StubHub often has seats available even if the event is "sold out"). It will also be available to watch on PPV at 10 p.m. ET on fight night.

The card will be headlined by a rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, as well as feature a co-main event between perennial top contender, Josh Koscheck, and the explosive Paul Daley.

Kimbo Slice is also expected to make his pay-per-view (PPV) debut against fellow TUF 10 cast member, Matt Mitrione.

Agree'd.

I’ve watched this fight so many times and I just don’t see how Machida wins. I have Shogun winning 4 rounds to 1 everytime but could see a 3 – 2 win for Shogun. He landed the harder strikes, covered up everytime Machida countered(besides two knee’s landing) and in the end the Dragon could barely walk. Even when they did exchange, Shogun landed that hard right which seemed to hurt Machida and made him back off.

I have never been so upset in my life as to when that score was read out by Buffer. Not to mention the fact I had 150$ on Shogun.

by RayRayJr on Feb 17, 2010 8:49 AM EST up reply actions

exactly

the two knees to the body were Machida’s best shots in the fight, Shogun landed body and leg kicks over and over and they were brutal, the hardest and best kicks we’ve ever seen in the octagon from a LHW no doubt.

we were all extremely pissed off over here and felt as though the UFC is a joke and there’s too much money involved to them and not so much about a legit sport.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 9:06 AM EST up reply actions

Another debate.....

Plain and simple, machida won should it been a UD? NO a SD would have been more acceptable!
Fact is this was a close fight, could have went either way , but it just happens that it went in favor of the champ!
Machida countered shoguns leg kicks with punches in the face, he won the grappling aspect of the whole fight, he stuffed everyone of shoguns takedown attempts and had a few flurries in which could have been fight ending at what point in the fight did shogun have a chance to end the fight? he didn’t how manytimes has a leg kick ended a fight it was clear he was trying to squeak out a decision !! and should shogun be awarded points for attempting takedowns and getting stuffed or controlled everytime? i
yeah shogun had leg and body kicks, but machida answered with punches in the face! yeah machida was beat up a bit , but that does not mean he lost
look at jardine , liddell …. to look at those two after the fight you’d think liddell won jardine was busted up pretty bad , but he won
another example more recent would be chael and nate….. chael was pretty beat up but he dominated his fight does it mean nate won since chael was battered worse??? NO
get over it shogun lost, he gets a rematch , if he wins he is the man , if not then well it just shows that machida was the better fighter yet again!
IMO shogun is going to come in looking to finish so as not to lose a decision again and leave him self open for counters leading to machida by KO

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 9:12 AM EST up reply actions

Im sick of this crap

Shogun won that fight!

Forrest did a lot less against rampage to win the title….Shogun is champ…Machida is getting a rematch..

I remember the dAYSI WOULD spend hours defending shogun…because all you guys tried to tell me he was washed up….silly fans!

by John G. on Feb 17, 2010 9:18 AM EST up reply actions

lol

Shogun did far more effective damage, machidas punches did what? nothing so how does that merit more points?

machida was backing off the majority of that fight and if im wrong do correct me don’t judges judge on aggression, octagon control and damage ?? in which shogun clearly beat machida on all 3

shogun is back he’s got this one in the bag

"I like to see my hand raised at the end of the night. I like when the ref raises my hand. That's why I shave my armpits like the professionals wrestlers. I like to see my arm raised"

by Rampagelangford on Feb 17, 2010 9:24 AM EST up reply actions

effective grappling, agression and octagon control is what they say
not damage!!

effective grappling , that would go to machida he stopped the takedown attempts and controlled in the clinch when they did get there

aggression, shogun was pushing the action , but machida is a counter fighter when does he ever push the action?? he lays back and waits for openings

octagon control , depending on your take of it, could go either way. Should shogun get it becasue he was moving forward?? or should machida get it since he was in control when actually engaged??

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 9:48 AM EST up reply actions

Don't want to get into who won the first fight

Because it doesn’t matter. A rematch will/should settle all of this.

so.......

you consider failed takedowns effective grappling???

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 10:58 AM EST up reply actions

there wasn't any effective grappling at all in the fight.

defending means neutralizing, like it never happened.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 11:07 AM EST up reply actions

forrest did alot less???

really ?? i’m pretty sure forrest jacked pages leg up and was on top of him for an entire round ! i agree with you in the sense that this is a worn out subject!
no matter how many times its argued machida is the champ and will ko rua this time around that should silence this nonsense! and if shogun wins look at it as a title defense if that makes you feel better, if machida wins look at it as him regaining his belt
one thing for sure both guys will be looking to finish and win decisively

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 9:44 AM EST up reply actions

I h6ave been a dieh6ard Mach6ida fan since th6e days wh6en everyone bash6ed h6im for being5 boring5, but....

you are out o your damn mind if you think he is KO’-ing shogun. Shogun has a granite chin and wont be losing by KO anytime soon!

by John G. on Feb 17, 2010 9:48 AM EST up reply actions

maybe so

but i can’t wait for this fight
it is going to be a good one
either way i don’t really care who wins as long as it’s a war and a decisive victory for whomever

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 9:49 AM EST up reply actions

TheDragon, do me a favour pleaassee!!! rewatch Shogun/Machida and tell me how you can have possibly seen it the way you did.

I have seen about a million kickboxing/boxing/muay thai contests and have very good vision to be able to see everything that’s happening in a fight.

Shogun outlanded him in every round, blocked Machida’s punches and countered the counterfighter every single time with his kicks. It wasn’t close no matter how fine of a post you write, it was a bad decision, we got stats on it, experts on it and even Dana giving him his win bonus, Shogun was pushing the action more than Machida did looking to hurt him and take him down, Machida spent more time defending and eating Shogun’s offence then he did delivering and when he tried with that flurry he got nailed with the cleanest punch in the fight by Shogun that had him backing up.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 10:00 AM EST up reply actions

Shogun is going to knock his ass out if he wants this time.

He has less respect for Machida this time seeing how he can’t punch or kick. KO in whatever round he wants as he is superior in every aspect of the fight and has way better punching/kicking technique

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 10:02 AM EST up reply actions

TheDragon also has the biggest doublestandard on this site bringing up Jardine/Liddell which was almost an identical fight to Machida/Shogun and saying Jardine won it, dude Liddell was your winner by the way you score.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 10:05 AM EST up reply actions

yeah you're right

all jardine did was kick and run
so yeah i would have gave that to liddell that’s just my opinion
shogun lost and will agian that’s that

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 10:25 AM EST up reply actions

Hmmm...

Under PRIDE rules? Shogun.
Under UFC rules? No idea. But Shogun NEEDS to knock Machida out to win.
Also, any bets on how far into the audience Koscheck’s jawbone will fly after his “fight” with Daley?

I really wish they had let Hathaway get a few more undercard showings before jumping up to....

Sanchez. But then again it makes perfect sense. From a technical perspective Diego doesn’t bring much other than a good scramble game and a hard pace.

No bets on Kos, but I wonder if there are any bets on

How many inches deep the dent left by Daley’s head will be?

by Wolfgangsta on Feb 17, 2010 1:02 AM EST up reply actions

Under any rules Shogun!

they stood up for 25 min and Shogun won the standup contest.
Pride rules had different and better rules when it came to the ground work , they didn’t score 100 p’s for a takedown and laying in top position, they saw that more as stalling.

Shogun wins again b/c he is the better fighter and Daley hopefully knocks Kos hair off.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 7:54 AM EST up reply actions

I find it amusing..

that half the people on the machida bandwagon have very quickly shut up after the Shogun fight..has anyone else noticed that before the fight everyone on here was like ‘OH MACHIDA IS GONNA DESTROY HIM BLAH BLAH’

machida has been sussed out..

"I like to see my hand raised at the end of the night. I like when the ref raises my hand. That's why I shave my armpits like the professionals wrestlers. I like to see my arm raised"

That is because

Shogun looked like crap in all of his fights apart from Liddell, who is seen as washed up by everyone.

No one, not even experts, expected what we saw that night.

by Wolfgangsta on Feb 17, 2010 8:48 AM EST up reply actions

you must also note

that was by far not the best machida we’ve seen and he still got the nod

so what happens when the best machida shows up to fight??? gonna be exciting

by TheDragon on Feb 17, 2010 9:51 AM EST up reply actions

That's why I say Shogun won that fight

The perception has changed. I don’t see Machida nor Shogun the same way since. Machida is not invincible and Rua is a terrifying Muay Thai machine. I felt pain just watching these two go at it. Can Machida adjust? I can’t wait to find out.

…Not as a guarantee anyways. I’m a huge Johnson supporter too but I knew better. And if Kos is bluffing and takes this to the ground he will win.

Kos is starting to act like a total crack head and only then do ppl like him.

I like those kinda guys but Kos was a better guy a year or so ago when he was fighting Alves and didn’t have such a big head.

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 7:58 AM EST up reply actions

I hated Kos

but didn’t seem to mind him after the Alves fight . He seemed to have matured quite a bit in his interviews. I’m still a bit pissed that Dana paid him off with fight of the night and sub of the night just so he wouldn’t carry on bitching about Hardy. It obviously worked, but there were a lot more deserving fighters that night. I am supporting Daley as I am from the UK, but if Kos didn’t get that cash he didn’t earn, I probably wouldn’t be as keen for him to lose. I tend to support Bisping as well, but I really am not a fan of Hardy because he really does come across as an arrogant cocky prick.

by Ade on Feb 17, 2010 7:08 AM EST up reply actions

I hope Shogun mixes up his gameplan this time around.

Maybe incorporates some Superman punches or some kind of feint kick-to-Thai-clinch and pounds Machida with some knees. Maybe he can set up and get some takedowns with some feints, cuz obviously Machida’s camp will be looking to counter the kicks. I hope Shogun doesn’t get robbed again. If he does lose, this puts him back, 4 fights, 3 at least, from another title shot?

He better do something

Because eating counters to the face all night while kicking Machida in the shin all night didn’t work before and it won’t work again.

by Wolfgangsta on Feb 17, 2010 1:04 AM EST up reply actions

he didn't eat any punches at all, go back and watch.

Shogun landed the harder cleaner punches in the fight, Machida was reaching with his arms everytime he tried to land a punch, bad technique and therefore not alot of power behind them.

the kicks were 3x hard as the punches Machida almost landed.

Shogun clearly won 4-1 and only the ppl that has no idea of what they saw thought Machida landed better, they even had stats on it for gods sake. They can’t rob him again if he wins in the same style!

come on maaayn.

by RoBerto. on Feb 17, 2010 8:02 AM EST up reply actions

Machida rocked him

A couple times. At least 3 from what I recall.

My only problem with this decision was the inconsistancy from the standpoint of Forrest-Rampage. If the title changes hands there, it probably should have here.

But I really don’t care to argue this fight anymore. More interested in how the rematch will go.

by Wolfgangsta on Feb 17, 2010 8:45 AM EST up reply actions

rocked him? he didn’t rock him a single time, i don’t know what u were watching. He caught him with a knee to the body as Shogun was coming against him going for a takedown, that is the only time in the fight he landed hard and Shogun wasn’t “rocked”

I thought Rizzo won the first match against Couture,

and by the look on Coutures face at the end of the fight he looked surprised to get the win as well. Vera took his loss pretty well, he won even more convicingly than Shogun did against Machida but he still got shafted.

by Ade on Feb 17, 2010 6:53 AM EST up reply actions

Ya Rizzo got jobbed.

But he got a rematch, where Couture dusted him. Still, I always wondered how people would see Rizzo if he did get that nod today. He’d be an alltime great if all his other wins were exactly as they were. Now he is somewhat of an also ran.

by Wolfgangsta on Feb 17, 2010 8:43 AM EST reply actions

I don't like this...

You know, the score cards have all been thrown away. And the note pad snip’its have long been deleted, but it should never go without debate. Like all of you, I have watched the fight numerous times. And yet, I still feel the same…

Machida won in a ‘technical’ sense. Shogun might have won in a ‘dirty fighting’ sense.

Remeber Street Fighter, what is the guys name from Brazil? Baraka, yeah he had claws man. Dude, those fights, they sharpen their nails. Like razors!! Foot and hand.

“They will cut your face when they punch, and they will slice your rib when they kick…”

It is not high science here. However, to be fair, I think Shogun would have won if the fight had gone on longer. But, it didn’t. Machida ‘technically’ scored more, and won. You cannot blame him for that, but you must know the ‘Brazilian’ style of fighting. It is very lethal, and very subtle.

Part of their ‘technique’ is how to break the rules (or ‘go outside of’ if you are picky).

The judges knew this, and judge accordingly.

Pretty simple.

by SB*Nation on Feb 17, 2010 1:20 PM EST reply actions

what?

first of Blanca, 2nd of all Shogun did win in a “technical” sense, he countered very nicely and Machida’s attempts to counter with a single left hand looked very un technical as he had nothing behind it.
