UFC WW Tournament Wrap-up

We have come to the end of the WW Tourney.  The Championship Final was contested between #1 seed Jon Fitch and #2 seed Thiago Alves.  In the end, the Pitbull emerged victorious, with 66% of the vote, to lay claim to the WW title in a world where GSP does not exist.

This was an interesting tourney, but provided virtually no upsets along the way.  All that is left to say is congratulation Thiago Alves!!!!!

QF1      1 Jon Fitch
             8 Carlos Condit          SF1    1 Jon Fitch
                                                         4 Paul Daley
QF2      4 Paul Daley
5 Matt Hughes                                                       Finals:  1  Jon Fitch
                                                                                                       2  Thiago Alves
QF3      3 Josh Koschek
             6 Paulo Thiago          SF2     3 Josh Koscheck
                                                         2 Thiago Alves
QF4      2  Thiago Alves
             7  Dan Hardy

If there ever comes a day when GSP decides to head-off to the canadian wrestling team full time, or if he loses both feet in a freak ice hockey accident, the fans have spoken... and have declared that Thiago Alves will be the man to wear the UFC WW gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be sure to check out the newly revamped structure for the UFC MW tourney, which I will have posted shortly.
