yep, but for a fighter, I say Kampmann's is worse.
Massive scar tissue directly over the eye is bad. Easily opened in a fight and blood will be draining directly into the eye. Instant Doctor’s stoppage.
At least Eastman’s scar tissue is on the forehead.

i understand you gotta train hard to be ready for fights, but seriously, training injuries like this puzzle me. that had to be a seriously nasty knee, elbow, or shin without any sort of protection on the delivering limb or on Martin’s face. it’s probably pretty impossible to take precaution against things like joint and muscle tweaks, but a cut like this seems like something that could be prevented in training.

kampmann seems to be in good spirits at least?
I dunno what that counts for, but yes, you’d think cuts like this would be preventable in practice. Perhaps he didn’t use any vasoline and leant into a jab in sparring? Who knows. Shit happens.

that cut looks familiar...the edge of the glove makes a cut like that...I've been on both ends of one of those but not to that extent

i just realized
coulda been an accidental clash of heads while rolling around for wrestling or JJ practice. accidental headbutt right on the top ridge of the eye-socket. similar thing (not quite as bad) happened to me in high school wresling practice about 7 years ago and i sill have a line in my eyebrow where the hair won’t re-grow

that is not a clean cut...
that is a large blunt instrument being delivered with a lot of force over an eye socket, kampmann has a boney eye brow, especially since he has dropped weight, an elbow would have caused a cleaner “straight” cut, but only a knee would have caused the skin to fissure in as many directions, as it “gripped” on the way up, which does beg the question as said above, why was it allowed to happen? fail in training boys……freedom……phd, md
