"It's not just making weight. It's making weight and then competing at a world-class level 24 hours later. The best athletes in the world, they come to me for that because I've proven what I can do. So it is a personal challenge, I like the guys with the biggest problems because I know exactly what to do to fix them. "We're going to shock the world. Dec. 10, when he steps on that scale, we're going to shock the world. Then Dec. 11, GSP, Koscheck, everybody in that welterweight class is going to be on notice when they see Thiago's performance."
Strength and conditioning coach Mike Dolce tells MMAWeekly.com he is confident that Thiago Alves will not disappoint in his return to the Octagon this Saturday night (Dec. 11) against John Howard. If Alves wants to impress UFC president Dana White, he's going to have to make weight and look like a "Pitbull" when the bell sounds. White wasn't too fond of Alves missing weight in his last bout with Jon Fitch at UFC 117 saying, "When you're in the UFC, your job is to make weight." Do you believe Alves will "shock the world" at the weigh-in? Or will another chunk of his purse be going to his opponent?
