Add one more to the list of cuts, as featherweight Tyler Toner (10-3-1) has been released by the UFC following his unanimous decision loss to Ian Loveland (14-7) at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale on Dec. 4, according to MMADieHards.com.

sucks for these cut fighters
but I guess layoffs can be expected during any merger.
Hopefully the side effect is that these fighters who were good, but not good enough to stay with the company will add to other companies who are in need of more talent.
It wll make the roster and fights more competitive or more technical.
Because the only way to hang around is you become super exciting or a beast finisher or you win time in and out. So breaking into the UFC will be much harder especially when they add 125 too which they seem to be ramping up. The good news is no more worthless talent holding up undercard space. Bad news, they won’t be able to take risks on potential or groom guys on the undercard. Guys will have to come battle tested and ready from the regional scene.

One Step closer to Gleison Tibau @ 145
If the round is too close, it's 10-10, NOT flip a coin 10-9 or late takedown FTW.

i think the horedecki cut was a bit premature though
and the things that irks me so much isnt that fighters are beng cut especially, it’s that they keep fighters like mccorkle aren’t. it’s a shitty deal for these guys, and given the amount of amazing wec fights i’ve seen compared to the number of dull ufc ones, i was hoping that “this” didn’t happen so soon

I'm sure McCorkle would be cut as well
if they merged another company’s HW division.
i don't think another company has a heavyweight division, they just have an overeem ha

And that's not a bad thing.
If anything, the UFC is actually getting closer to validating their claim that “only the best in the world” fight under their company.

they dont deserve to be called ufc fighters
thats why they get the cut, wouldnt want to embarrass the ufc’s name with these no-namers

This type of cut doesn’t bother me as long as the guys currently under UFC contracts before the merger will be held to the same standard. That means cutting guys like Matt Brown and Tyson Griffin who’ve both lost three in a row.
i agree. that's what irks me. horedecki going but i think there a plenty more ex tuf fighters worthy of a trip down unemployment benefits lane

Agreed
Losing to a guy like Cerrone isn’t anything to be too upset about, even giving Chris the chance to drop down to 145 I think would have been a much more viable option, but unfortunately in the post merger era a single loss could result in the loss of your job.
it depends on who is doing the losing. it's the tuf bullshit that gets me, chance after chance
drop the marcus davis down like that wll make us all excited about him, no, fire him and keep horedecki or varner. i’ much rather see varner cerrone 3 than endure lifeless tuf fighters who keep getting ppv because they were on a tv show the ufc threw together.

I agree
Although I like watching TUF every season I feel that none of the Fighters will ever be successful in the ufc. Especially now, I think they’ve run Thor sources dry and are taking one good prospect and a bunch of low level fighters with personality for ratings

Tuf
TUF has given the UFC alot of good fighters and some champions. You shouldn’t be hating on Tuf fighters there are alot …and some on recent seasons..that could be top 5 one day. Bader being one

bader isn't who i'm talking about, niether even evans or anyone of that ilk, it's the others
my problem is with the matt browns, marcus davis, guillard. the tuf fighters they use to pad out a card and who we keep getting told are legit or no joke. does davis have a hope of becoming a light weight champ at 37 or a contender? no. the young horedecki who show promise or at least, some hope? i’d much rather see that. i’d rather see nurtured talent with prospects on a card than old dogs and journeymen gaurenteed to stand up and be punched in the face. i’d rather see a dynamic crop of young heavyweights that are not top ten but with a couple of years experience may get there than ex footballers and huge one trick ponies. i don’t mind struve, i have nothing against struve. i have a problem with being told he’s main event. but i’d rather see more young kids who are set on ever improving.

You have good points but I think guys like davis and guliard deserve to be where they are. Guilard was cut while back if I’m not mistaken and brought back. I see ur point they hype the TUF guys to much who are just ok Like a grove or Matt Brown but I think it’s the price you pay for having the Evans,George s,Maynard success. It’s hit or miss they are either really good or really bad after the show
