UFC 128: Edson Barboza vs Anthony Njokuani booked for March 19 in New Jersey

An exciting 155-pound battle between two unique strikers is on the horizon as Edson Barboza meets Anthony Njokuani for the upcoming UFC 128 pay-per-view in Newark, New Jersey.

MMAweekly.com brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.

Barboza earned his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contract when he went 6-0 on the regional circuit. At UFC 123, the crafty 155-pound prospect made his UFC debut, defeating Mike Lullo by TKO in the third and final round.

Can Barboza improve his record to 8-0 when he battles "The Assassin?"

Njokuani had his highs and lows in World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

The Nigerian went 4-3 in his WEC career. In his first WEC bout, Njokuani suffered a submission loss to former lightweight champion Ben Henderson.

Njokuani would go on to win three in a row including a highlight reel head kick he landed on Chris Horodecki leading to a TKO. After losing to Shane Roller and Maciej Jewtuszko, Njokuani ended his WEC career on a high note when defeated Edward Faaloloto.

On tap for UFC 128, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Rashad Evans. Welterweights Ricardo Almeida and Mike Pyle will do battle. Also scheduled for the "Garden State" is Jersey boy Kurt Pellegrino taking on Gleison Tibau.
