After a submission loss to Shane Roller (9-3) at WEC 53, which drove his record to 0-3-1 in his last four fights, former 155-pound WEC champion Jamie Varner (16-5-2) has been released by Zuffa, according to Punch Drunk Gamer.

Fantastic picture choice, Geno.
I can’t stand Varner and will not miss him in the least. He’s not talented enough to get away with being such a whiner.

I was in the convo and am self-admittedly an occult fan.
I have read some really girlish books about vampires. Twilight included.
If the shoe fits…;)
I'm a reader
I stay away from the twilight series but on a gayer note I started reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels and once you get over reading them from a girls perspective they aren’t that bad.

It really isn't bad, but it is from a 16 year-old girls perspective and ends just like a 16 year-old girl would hope.
Not like 3,000 year-old vampires, who dine on human flesh, should, IMO.
But I digress…lol.
I have heard the Sookie books are ok and WAY different than True Blood, of which I am a huge fan.
I tried to watch that show and got through two episodes thinking "okay this is an interesting take on the whole vampire thing"
All the T&A helped but as the series progressed it lost in gay vampirism.

i was going to start those but then got busy at work
im 23 and the only thing i’ve ever read outside of school is the Harry Potter series. only thing i have to look forward to now is that last movie and im just hoping they don’t screw it up too much, but we’ll see.
True Blood, i am also a fan of so i might try to actually read those. My gf is also into the Vampire Diaries show on CW and i think she’s trying to hunt down that series.. i say theres too many damned vampire shows/books/movies right now
I just finished reading "The Last of the Mohicans"
It was really good and the writing was great but I preferred the movie version of the story.

try downloading "being human"
it’s a uk tv series about a vampire, werewolf and ghost that live together. pretty good, and different slant on the thing,i prefer it to true blood. but get the uk version as they’re making an american version which no doubt will be watered down.

If you like Harry Potter, read these before any others
“The Hobbit” – J.R.R. Tolkien
“The Fellowship of the Ring” – J.R.R. Tolkien
“The Two Towers” – J.R.R. Tolkien
“The Return of the King” – J.R.R. Tolkien
Best fantasy series EVER. They set the standard for the genre and the books are MUCH better than the movies.
You say those books like your dropping knowlege. Ha!

“Ender’s Game”
“Watership Down”
“Farenheit 451”
“1984”
“Animal Farm”
“Battlefield Earth”

Saw the movie
Never heard of it
Heard it was great but haven’t read it
I think I read it in school so I prolly didn’t like it at the time cause you know fuck school
Haven’t read it

And really? I’ve heard from Sci Fi people that it sucked so I didn’t bother and the movie was awful.

both are completely different books. I read Battlefield Earth in High School (late ’80’s) so maybe I am a bit daft.

Ulf - the movies are as good as the books so I respectfully disagree (except for the Hobbit - which was animated and ok at best). The book set the standard but read some Moorcock if you want a contemporary comparsion that rivals JR.

Agreed on both. Should I have put quotes...
“Great and Terrible Oz”? That is what Oz says to the four when they present themselves in the Emerald City. “What business do you have with the Great and Terrible Oz?” (loud shakes and thunder rolls). lol
It is in my top 10 all time.
Schindler's List; Citizen Kane...only if my hand is forced though. These could be changed with several others.
Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, Pulp Fiction are some other favorites.

Jamie gets a lot of hate, but he is a good guy.
I met him once, had to work with him for the day. He was a really nice guy. Not a prima donna from what I could tell, and friendly and humble to all the people that happened to be there. It was at a BJJ school, and he even rolled with some of the students. Was pretty cool of him to do that.
Just wanted to say that for whatever it’s worth. Maybe he’s a whiner, but….. I’m just saying.
