UFC 125 Prelims to air live via Ion Television on Jan. 1
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today announced that its upcoming UFC 125: "Edgar vs. Maynard" pay-per-view (PPV) event will broadcast a portion of its preliminary card bouts as part of a new programming agreement with Ion Television (formerly PAX TV).
From UFC President Dana White:
"I am excited for our fans because I’ve been looking for ways to broadcast UFC prelims free and to as many homes as possible. ION is the largest broadcast television station group in the U.S. and this deal will put the UFC prelims in almost 100 million homes."
Included in the Jan. 1 prelims special will be a lightweight fight between Marcus Davis and Jeremy Stephens, a 145-pound showdown featuring Josh Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier and the middleweight scrap between Phil Baroni and Brad Tavares.
The bouts will begin at 8:55 p.m. ET.
Finding Ion Television in your area can be done by using the network's channel finder at http://www.ionline.tv/. For example, DirecTV customers with the "Choice Plus" package can watch Ion on channels 305 and 347.

Dish Network Channel 216
There was more to all of this. Dana also added that by doing this it was one of the ways he is trying to pay back the fans for other stuff (Andy SIlva)
Nothing Ever Changes When Nothing Ever Changes
I don't think I get this channel,
but it’s still cool. Seems a little late to be announcing this though…
It's listed as Ultimate Fighting Challenge on my guide
"Prohibition… goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control mans’ appetite through legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not even crimes… A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our Government was founded"
hahahahaha
So, no one has heard of Ion, and Ion has not heard UFC spelled out before. Classic.
Anthony Pettis is the future UFC lightweight champ, but let’s keep it real, that is only until BJ decides he wants it back. (BNF is a really nice guy)
its what used to be Pax TV which always played random "wholesome" shows
like little house on the prairie and stuff. here in sac, i believe its Ch 11 but im not sure exactly. either way, its available Over the air and this is probably making dana all kinds of happy. as well as it should for us fans if it continues
ah, thanks man
Didn’t realize it was one of those you can just plug a tv into a wall and get (new antenna issues aside). That is pretty big news. So I guess the big question is….does LHOTP come on before or after the prelims?

well shit...
i didnt even think of that. they should deff do a little house marathon to lead up to it… get us all half asleep so the fights will jack up our blood pressure and it’ll be the best night ever!!!
Since this is such a “huge” anouncement, im sure that ION is a nationwide channel but the prelims are being listed here at 9PM. although thats the same thing Spike did and it still played live at 6PM when they were actually on so I’m probly getting the east coast guide feed. just think about that when you’re setting your DVR. i wont be off work in time to see the prelims so i always have to record a block of time instead of a scheduled show
305 direct tv
I’m good:)

Nice move!
I only watch Ion for reruns of Criminal Minds but glad to hear they’re moving more and more away from SpikeTV.

please put prelims back on spike...
brad tavares is fighting and the major cable provider in hawaii doesn’t carry “ion” or “hdnet” for that matter. PLEASE PUT PRELIMS BACK ON SPIKE TV!!!
Is this offered in canada?
Anybody know if they offer this Channel in Canada. I can’t find any network by the name of ION?
