UFC 126 results and LIVE fight coverage for 'Silva vs Belfort' on Feb. 5 in Las Vegas


Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to deliver its "Silva vs. Belfort" pay-per-view TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 5, 2011) with an action-packed fight card from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC 126 will be headlined by middleweight champion Anderson Silva, defending his world title against fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort. Up-and-coming light heavyweights Ryan Bader and Jon Jones will also hook 'em up in a battle that could determine the next division contender.

And 205-pound veterans and former champions Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin will collide in what promises to be an action-packed showdown on the televised pay-per-view (PPV) card. will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of UFC 126, beginning with the PPV telecast at 10 p.m. ET. Up-to-the-minute quick results of all the other under card action will begin to flow around 8 p.m. ET.

Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (185-pound limit)

Round one: Both men just circling. Neither man looking to move first. Leg kick from Belfort almost 1min and a half in. Leg kick from Belfort. Great right then left from Belfort!!! Silva misses a head kick and Belfort lands a right and takes down Silva. Their back up to the feet Silva lands a knee and Belfort with a good kick. Silva with an insane front kick to the face and drops Belfort!!! Silva with two punches for good measure and thats it this fight is over!!! WOW ANDERSON SILVA IS INSANE. A front kick to the face KO!

Final result: Anderson Silva defeats Vitor Belfort via TKO (Strikes) Round 1


Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin (205-pound limit)

Round one: Inside leg kick from Franklin. Leg kick from Griffin. Griffin catches a kick and is now on top in Franklins full guard. Forrest looking to pass. Forrest looking to step over. Griffin into half guard. Franklin gets back the full guard instantly. Franklin controlling the posture well and canceling out any offense Griffin has. Forrest lands a couple good elbows now and some body shots. Forrest throwing some good body shots and punches but Franklin is avoiding any serious damage. Griffin is scoring points though. Nice punches from Forrest. Not much action just a constant jockeying for position. Forrest throwing mostly fluff. Non the less Forrest will win this round, as the bell sounds. 10-9 Griffin.

Round two: Nice inside leg kick from Forrest. Good left from Franklin. Inside leg kick from Griffin. Front kick from Forrest. Inside leg kick from Griffin. Nice right from Franklin. Good left from Franklin. Good body kick from Franklin. Good inside leg kick and right from Griffin. Head kick from Griffin. Griffin catches a kick and now has a hold of the back and takes Franklin to the mat!!! Griffin has the back on the mat. Griffin looking for the hooks now. Punches from Forrest to soften up Franklin. Franklin now to his feet and Forrest drags him back down. Franklin right back to his feet though and he gets the break he needed. Franklin looks tired though. Good left from Franklin. Inside leg kick from Forrest. Front kick from Griffin. Head kick from Forrest. Forrest tags Franklin with a BIG left that buckles Franklin. Griffin cannot finish though and backs off. HUGE body kick right hook combo from Griffin. Good counter left from Franklin. Nice right from Rich. Jab from Forrest. Good body kick from Franklin. Nice left right from Franklin. Nice left hook and head kick from Griffin at the end of the round. That one was back and forth on the feet but Griffin got the best of it. 10-9 Griffin.

Round three: Both guys land leg kicks. Nice left from Franklin. Wild punches from both men, and good body kick from Franklin. Good right left from Franklin. Forrest goes for a single but nothing there. High kick from Griffin. Nice knee to the stomach from Franklin. Franklin looking for a take down. High kick from Forrest blocked. Leg kick from Franklin. Inside leg kick from Griffin. Nice left from Franklin. Good left from Franklin. Franklin seems to be favoring his left hand. High kick from Franklin now. Good left from Franklin. Good right from Franklin, leg kick from Forrest. Right from Franklin. Griffin ducks under and gets a take down. Forrest looking to step over into better position and now Franklin reverses!! Forrest right back to his feet and gets a take down of his own!! Knee from Griffin now on the way up to the feet. Franklin ties things up and lands a right. Left from Griffin. Good combo from Forrest and front kick from Forrest and thats the bell. Very close fight, tough to score but Forrest got those take downs which could prove to be the difference. 10-9 Griffin.

Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha (170-pound limit)

Round one: Hard left from Ellenberger and a quick take down. Rocha reverses on the way down, but both men are back up to their feet. Good knee from Ellenberger to the stomach and now Ellenberger gets a big take down and is in side control. Rocha back to his feet. Ellenberger sprawls out from a take down briefly, but Rocha keeps coming and is now on top in side control. Ellenberger could be in some serious trouble. Rocha is transitioning from left to right side control with ease. Rocha is just moving positions and is looking for something to open up for him. Ellenberger looks to scramble and Rocha just jumps onto his back. Now Rocha is mounted as Ellenberger scrambles again, but Rocha decides to settle into side control. Rocha is now looking for a kneebar. Ellenberger with an amazing transition and he using a guillotine to get back to his feet!!! Wow amazing transition from Ellenberger. Nice knee to the body from Ellenberger. Spinning back kick from Rocha just misses. Now Rocha drops for a take down and Ellenberger is landing some good blows. Rocha though somehow grabs a hold of an arm and switches position with a kimura!!! Wow that was insane!!!! Ellenberger is in trouble but the bell rings. That was an amazing 1st round. Amazing ground work from Rocha. 10-9 Rocha.

Round two: Leg kick from Rocha. Big right then Ellenberger tee''s off with two HUGE knees. Now Ellenberger is landing some huge punches to the head of Rocha as he covers up on the ground. Now their back to the feet. Ellenberger has to know he needs this fight standing to win. Ellenberger much more hesitant on his feet now worrying about being taken down. Nice head kick from Rocha. Flying knee to the body from Ellenberger. Good right from Ellenberger and then a good jab from Ellenberger. Nice left hook from Ellenberger. Flying knee from Rocha but he doesnt connect. HARD body kick from Ellenberger, and Rocha with a body kick of his own. Ellenberger with a good double leg take down. Rocha with a leg thrown over the shoulder of Ellenberger. That is the bell though, and Ellenberger timed his take down perfectly so he would not be on the ground more than 20 seconds. Ellenberger tied things up with that round. 10-9 Ellenberger.

Round three: Nice leg kick from Ellenberger and right. Knee from Rocha. Nice inside leg kick from Rocha. Ellenberger lands two hard leg kicks of his own. Ellenberger tee's off with a good combo, but nothing lands too hard. Rocha misses a spinning head kick. Leg kick from Rocha. Good right from Ellenberger. Leg kick from Ellenberger. Inside leg kick from Rocha. Jab from Ellenberger. Ellenberger lands a BIG right. Nice left hook from Ellenberger. Ellenberger briefly goes for a single but looses hold of it. Leg kick from Rocha. Both men trade knees to the stomach in tie ups. Big head kick from Rocha and Ellenberger just slams him to his back. Ellenberger makes him stand back up. Inside leg kick from Rocha, and good hard right from Ellenberger. Ellenberger with a football tackle of a take down with about 40 seconds left. Nice elbow from Ellenberger. Another elbow from Ellenberger. A big punch from Ellenberger to finish the fight. That was a close close fight, but Ellenberger should have stole the last 2 rounds with take downs late in each round where he finished on top in both. 10-9 Ellenberger.

Final result: Jake Ellenberger defeats Carlos Eduardo Rocha via Split Decision


Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones (205-pound limit)

Round one: Nice left hook from Bader lands. Jones with a shot and a take down, but Bader grabs a guillotine and almost reverses. Jones now is going for a north-south choke. Bader grimacing. Jones lets it go after almost finishing this fight, but he lacked proper positioning. Jones still on top. Bader now holding onto a single and is back up to his feet. Bader could be tired though that choke was tight for almost 20-30 seconds. Nice body shot from Jones. Head kick from Jones lands HARD. Bader shoots and Jones stuffs it effortlessly. Jones now on top. Jones in side control and holding onto Bader's head. Jones with some body punches. Bader trying to find a way to his feet. Bader is up to his feet and Jones flies over to his back!!! Jones gets him back to the mat and lands some crazy elbows. Jones in half guard. Elbow to the body from Jones. Jones looks like the obviously stronger man which is surprising. BIG punches from Jones to end the round. Jones controlled that one from bell to bell. 10-9 Jones.

Round two: Inside leg kick from Bader but has nothing on it. Wow quick left hook from Jones lands hard. Flying high kick from Jones misses, but then he lands a hard leg kick. Good counter right from Bader as Jones goes for a flying elbow. Leg kick from Bader. Leg kick from Jones. Jab from Bader. Bader misses a wild right. Crazy jab leg kick combo from Jones. They tie up briefly. Inside leg kick from Jones. Hard leg kick from Jones. Another leg kick from Jones, and Jones dodges a take down attempt from Bader. Good right from Jones. Jones is finding a striking rhythm. Nice body kick from Jones and now they tie up and Jones puts Bader to the mat. Jones on top in a half guard. Jones is looking to crank a choke, and he turns it and Ryan Bader taps out!!!!! Jon Jones taps out Ryan Bader with a guillotine!!! Wow he looked dominant tonight against a top level opponent, this dude is as real as they come. Amazing win for Jones.

Final result: Jon Jones defeats Ryan Bader via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Round 2


Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres (135-pound limit)

Round one: Torres pawing with his left showing off his ridiculous reach advantage. He has a 13 inch reach on Banuelos. Inside leg kick from Torres. Jab from Torres. Nice inside leg kick from Torres. Body kick from Torres. Nice jab again from Torres. Inside leg kick from Banuelos. Banuelos cannot seem to get inside to strike. Nice right from Torres. Sharp leg kick from Torres. Jab from Torres again. Another jab from Torres. Banuelos catches a leg kick and lands a good right that knocks Torres to his back. Torres pops back up without a challenge. Quick right from Torres. Another jab from Torres. Good right from Torres and another snapping jab from Torres. Banuelos cannot close distance. Torres lands two more jabs and another for good measure. Banuelos with a wild right that barely lands. Spinning back kick from Banuelos misses. That is the bell and the crowd boo's heavily but dont see why just yet. That round was all Torres, 10-9 Torres.

Round two: Banuelos comes out looking more aggressive this round. Jabs from Torres are landing hard and quick. Good counter right from Banuelos. Nice right cross and inside leg kick from Torres. High kick from Torres lands on the shoulder. Double jab from Torres. Banuelos inching his way inside little by little. Good right from Torres and then a good jab. Sharp jab from Torres. Another good jab from Torres. Nice left from Torres and great counter left from Banuelos. Nice jab from Torres, but he is not capitalizing on his good jab. Torres with a good double jab again. Good 1-2 combo from Torres. Torres just stuffing that jab into Banuelos nose. Nice Torres 1-2 combo again. Again Torres with a jab and it is beginning to show on the face of Banuelos. Banuelos is throwing wild counters that dont have a chance. Torres with a combo and Banuelos lands a HARD left but it is at the bell. That one hurt Torres. Once again though Torres dominated that round. 10-9 Torres.

Round three: Banuelos needs a stoppage to win this fight. Jab from Torres stops Banuelos in his tracks. Banuelos trying to bully his way inside now. Nice counter right from Banuelos. The crowd is booing big time again and now I cant blame them not much going on. Nice jab, 1-2 jab from Torres. Nice jab 1-2 combo from Torres again. Jab from Torres. Another jab from Torres. Hard jab from Torres. Torres now just pumping the jab with authority while mixing in a right cross here and there. Nice hard right from Torres then a sharp jab from Torres. Jab from Torres and right from Torres. Nice uppercut from Torres, Banuelos goes crazy to finish the fight and lands a spinning back kick and knee with some punches to boot but the bell rings and it is way to little way to late. Torres won that round and the fight convincingly. 10-9 Torres.

Final result: Miguel Torres defeats Antonio Banuelos via Unanimous Decision

Donald Cerrone vs. Paul Kelly

Round one: Cerrone went for the glove touch and Kelly swung on him. Cerrrone ducked under for the takedown and Kelly grabbed a guillotine. Cerrone turns and gets out and he's in side control. Boom full mount. Kelly bucks out and back to the feet. He ducks under again but gets a big knee. Kelly jumps and fakes a flying knee and lands a left hook. Cerrone moves in with a shot but misses. Leg kick now. Right hand lands. Another leg kick from Cerrone. Body kick by Kelly. He lands a big left hook. He's been landing clean with that left. Lands another one. A knee and a left lands for Cerrone. Kelly answers with one of his own. Another one, this time on a counter to a leg kick. Head kick blocked. Cerrone ducks under a punch and lands a takedown. Half guard for Cowboy. Kelly trying to control posture with overhooks and it's working. Stand up could be coming shortly. Cerrone lands an elbow and a big cut is open on Kelly. Round ends and it's Kelly in that one. 10-9 Kelly

Round two: They touch gloves this time. Kelly fakes a flying knee again and lands a few punches but Cerrone's chin precedes him. Leg kick from Cerrone. Kelly lunging in with a left hook. Body kick right hand from Cowboy. Leg kick answer from Kelly. Big takedown under a punch from Cerrone but Kelly has a guillotine. Cerrone gets out and he's in half guard again. Cerrone is working towards an arm triangle. Kelly gets out but Cerrone gets full mount. He's got his back with the body triangle. Two minutes left in the round. He's working for the choke and he's got it under. The tap comes and Cerrone wins it. Impressive finish after he was getting dominated on his feet.

Final result: Donald Cerrone def. Paul Kelly via submission (rear naked choke) in Round 2


Chad Mendes vs. Michihiro Omigawa

Round one: Mendes out early with a few punches. Omigawa moving really stiff. Omigawa hasn't thrown much here and Mendes is winning just on volume. Outside shoot for a takedown from Mendes but he doesn't get it. Leg kick from Mendes. Omigawa throws a low leg kick and Mendes tries to take him down but can't. Another failed takedown attempt from Mendes. Tags him with a right but Omigawa is okay. And finally, Mendes completes a takedown. Omigawa scoots his hips but Mendes is really working to stay on top. Omigawa staying very active. Armbar attempt from Omigawa but Mendes gets out. The round ends and it's likely for Mendes on the takedown. 10-9 Mendes

Round two: Omigawa lands one but Mendes lands harder and he's hurt badly. Mendes is all over him and landing big but Omigawa is suriving. Somehow he recovers enough to attempt a few submissions but Mendes defends and back to the feet they go. Wow. Another right hand lands for Mendes. Body shot from Mendes. They exchange and Mendes just looks more smooth with his punches. Very odd stance from Omigawa. Mendes working hard for the takedown but Omigawa stuffs. Mendes lands a few kicks. Omigawa is getting blasted but he's still standing in the pocket and exchanging. Mendes ducks under and Omigawa sprawls. Lands a few body shots before Mendes gets out for a reset. Flying knee attempt, then a head kick. Neither land. Couple of front kicks and Omigawa lands a nice shot but gets taken down for his trouble. With ten seconds left that's a good exclamation point on it. 10-9 Mendes

Round three: They exchange to open. Not landing much from anyone. Omigawa gets taken down again and Mendes is working on top from half guard. He's controlling Omigawa but he's on defense too, slipping out of submission. Omigawa, for the time he's been on his back, has been very active. Mendes stands up to reset but gets back in. He's landing some nice elbows but the ref looks close to a stand-up. Just as I say that he gets active. Omigawa scrambles back to his feet though with about two minutes to go. He's still pushing forward and he needs to land something here. He jumps in and eats a shot for his trouble. Mendes has simply been quicker to the punch for teh majority of the fight. He dives in and gets another takedown and unless we see a submission here, it's probably a wrap for Omigawa. He's cut but still looking to land elbows from underneath. The round closes with Mendes standing up and coming down with a few hard shots to put the stamp on a big win. 10-9 Mendes

Final result: Chad Mendes def. Michihiro Omigawa via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Norifumi 'Kid' Yamamoto vs. Demetrious Johnson

Round one: Lot of bouncing around to start with little action. Kick from Johnson answered by Kid. No hair from Yamamoto. This disappoints me. He's keeping his distance and playing it smart early. Lands a left hand as Johnson comes in. Missed head kick from Johnson. He shoots in but gets stuffed. Lands a left hand on the way out. Halfway through and Johnson ducks under a punch and turns for a takedown. Underhooks and gets right back up. Neither fighter really finding their range here. Kid misses a right hand and Johnson goes under for another takedown. Half guard here. Yamamoto gets out and up but gets clipped and Johnson swarms him. Kid survives and now he's pushing him against the cage. Recovery time. They reset and a deep breath from Kid. Yet another takedown from Johnson and he's easily winning this round. 10-9 Johnson

Round two: Both guys using a ton of movement. Not a lot of landing. Johnson comes in with a right and Kid takes him down but right back up they go. Missed kick and Johnson falls but back up to a reset. Johnson lands a kick straight to the nuts. Time for Yamamoto to recover here. Once again, Kid throws a shot and Johnson ducks under for a takedown but Kid flips him on the way down and back up they go. Joe Rogan is making note of how fast Mighty Mouse is. He's rushing him now and landing a few good shots but Kid answered in kind. Low leg kick. Takedown from Johnson yet again and that's been the difference so far. Back up they go with a knee landing on the way out. Kid looks like he's having trouble with the speed of Mighty Mouse. Rushes in and just misses a big punch. Oh look, another quick takedown from Johnson. Half guard here but Kid scoots out. Another knee on the way out. Another takedown but Kid gets back up. Kid landed a knee that could have been illegal but he's okay. 10-9 Johnson

Round three: Once again, after some bouncing around on the outside, Johnson times it perfectly and gets the takedown. Kid gets back to his feet. Johnson lunges in and lands a straight right. Yamamoto looks off and he has for the whole fight. Mighty Mouse has been dominant the whole way. Once again, he shoots low and gets the takedown. And once again, Kid gets back to his feet. Left hook lands for Johnson and lands a kick and another left and Yamamoto looks hopelessly over-matched here. Johnson is working top game in the corner. Kid gets back up and lands a knee to the body. One minute to go and Kid needs a hail mary here. Johnson shoots under and once again gets the takedown. Joe Rogan is drilling it into everyone's head how fast the takedowns are coming. Kid doing what he can to get back up but this time, Johnson is controlling his posture. Elbows from top as the fight comes to a close and that was just a route. 10-9 Johnson

Final result: Demetrious Johnson def. Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
