The final show promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC), the "Henderson vs Pettis" event that went down Dec. 16 from the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale Arizona, reeled in an average audience of 615,000 viewers for a 0.62 rating, according to MMATorch.

The promotion's final year started with Ben Henderson taking the lightweight title off Jamie Varner at WEC 46, an event that drew 640,000 viewers, and ended with a bang, as Anthony Pettis took the gold for himself after a highlight reel performance.

Dominick Cruz successfully defended his 135-pound strap while also being crowned the inaugural UFC bantamweight champion after a dominant five-round destruction of Scott Jorgensen.

While it may have been the final show for the organization, WEC 53 was certainly not the best, at least in terms of viewership. In fact, "Henderson vs Pettis" was the seventh most viewed event in company history.

Ratings aside, it was an incredible show that provided a fitting lead-in to a merger with the UFC.
