In a feather-ruffling answer to the oft-posed question (via MMA Fighting):
"For me, I think Fedor [is the ideal match-up]. I've always watched him as a fighter. I've always looked up to him. His overall size compared to the other guys, it seems he's always mismatched, but he always has a lot of power, he has good technique on the ground, so I would definitely love to fight him. I'm in this sport to fight the best. I want to fight the best guys in the UFC and the best guys everywhere else."
UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez, who's long admired the career of the former PRIDE champ, likely irks the Zuffa brass (as well as division number one contender Junior dos Santos) by naming "The Last Emperor" as his "ideal match-up." While it's widely believed the Russian enigma will never step foot inside the Las Vegas Octagon, one can't help but wonder how he'd fare against the current crop of UFC heavyweights. Would Emelianenko be able to defeat Velasquez in a championship bout? Or get knocked out by the likes of Shane Carwin and Junior dos Santos before even getting the chance to try?
