Marius Zaromskis vs Kazushi Sakuraba booked for FieLDS Dynamite!! 2010 on Dec. 31 in Saitama

After failing to secure a win in three straight appearances for Strikeforce, DREAM Welterweight Champion Mariusz Zaromskis is headed back to Japan to square off against the re-animated corpse of Kazushi Sakuraba at the upcoming FieLDS Dynamite!! 2010 supershow on Dec. 31 in Saitama, Japan.

Strikeforce was a "Whitemare" for the Lithuanian, who first tried to mug Nick Diaz for the promotion's 170-pound strap but got creamed in the process. In his follow-up bout against Evangelista Santos, the "Cyborg" terminated him in the first round via technical knockout.

Prior to his stateside departure, Zaromskis went Moe Howard on Waachiim Spiritwolf under the "Challengers" banner, poking the Fresno native in the eyes and drawing a no contest (NC) for his efforts.

Now he gets a chance to right the ship against a veteran who is so old and battered he makes the Nogueira brothers look like Pebbles and Bam-Bam.

Sakuraba, once billed as "The Gracie Hunter" for his uncanny ability to embarrass the legendary Gracie clan in front of Japanese MMA fans, is coming off two consecutive losses as a DREAM employee and is 2-4 over his last six fights.

He recently fell to Jason "Mayhem" Miller via arm-triangle choke and is widely considered to be treading water in today's current fighting scene.

Will Zaromskis be able to retain his title and retire the Japanese legend for good?

Also confirmed for FieLDS Dynamite!! 2010 is a lightweight mash-up between Josh Thomson and Tatsuya Kawajiri while Shinya Aoki takes on Yuichiro Nagashim in a K-1/MMA mixed rules bout.
