It may have started slow, but it ended swiftly.

Two former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winners went to war and Mac Danzig, who was one fight away from unemployment, got the better of Joe Stevenson with a stunning knockout in the very first round.

Both fighters were a bit tentative in the early going.

Stevenson landed a big overhand right that looked to stun Danzig but the vegan warrior survived and responded with a crushing, one-punch knockout.

As Stevenson came in with a combination, Danzig backed up and landed a well-timed and perfectly placed left hand that put "Daddy" to sleep.

Stevenson was looking to take a win home to his son Joey, who he honored with a banner tonight. Unfortunately for the Greg Jackson fighter, he'll have to go home and contemplate whether or not he'll even have a job come Sunday morning.

Danzig had lost four of five coming into the fight and knew it was do or die.

He did.
